    Factors Influencing Logistics Outsourcing in Pakistan

    The Freight Forwarding and Logistics industry plays a vital role in the overall economy of Pakistan. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence for outsourcing the logistics and at the same time performance of outsourcing has been evaluated with respect to Karachi, Pakistan. Three factors identified as Low Human Assets, Low Physical Assets and Partnership, all have a positive impact on logistics outsourcing and the firm performance especially in terms of Financial Benefit. Online survey was conducted and the data was obtained from a sample size of 165 from the seniority level of the manufacturing industry in Karachi. We measure the inner model by Smart PLS software to indicate the reliability of all factors that significant impact on logistics outsourcing practices. Reliability test was also performed which showed that our study is significant

    The Effect of Strategic Orientation on Green Supply Chain Practices and Performance: A Case of Manufacturing Companies in Pakistan

    The aim of this study is to find out the direct impact of competence of strategic supply chain orientation, strategic environmental orientation and institutional pressure on Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) and to overall performance. The data gathered from executives of 66 manufacturing firms of Pakistan. On the one hand, the relationship between strategic orientations of the environment, supply chain, institutional pressure, and adoption of GSCM practices is examined on the other hand GSCM practices, and its relationship with performance measures including Customer Effectiveness, Environmental Differentiation, Economic Performance, Operational Efficiency and Social Performance is examined. The Smart PLS software is used to compute content validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and predictive relevance model. The companies in Pakistan are less oriented towards environment and supply chain. However, due to the pressure from institutes, they are persuaded to adopt GSCM practices in their operations, which eventually boost their performance. The outcome of GSCM practices results in saving the environment, creating a better social image, cost reduction and profitability which would enable managers to be able to know strategic orientations (both environmental and SCM) rather than depending on the issues of institutional pressures and monitoring directions of strategies for Green SCM

    Impact of Shipping Knowledge and Absorptive Capacity on Logistical Value of 3PL Firms in Pakistan

    The purpose of this paper is to identify & examine what types of shipping knowledge are critical to surviving in the dynamic business environment, and to investigate how the shipping knowledge affects the organizational performance. It also studies the effect of shipping knowledge and its absorptive capacity on the logistical value creation for customer satisfaction. An online survey was conducted to acquire responses from shipping companies such as freight forwarders, vessel liners, and logistic companies. Multiple regression tests were run to analyze the significance of shipping knowledge and its absorptive capacity for the creation of logistical value to provide end to end solution to the customer. The reliability test was executed, and the findings indicated that a high level of shipping knowledge has a positive impact on the logistical value of shipping companies. This study will enable 3PL firms to stay competitive in the market coping up with the rapid changes and tapping on to the untouched doors of some of the leading brands / customers in Pakistan with a variety of solutions

    Factors Influencing Selection of Container Shipping Lines in Pakistan – A Logistics Perspective

    The purpose of this study is to understand the most influential factors affecting the selection of container shipping lines in Karachi, Pakistan and to assist shipping lines to formulate their strategies and long-term goals in accordance with key influential factors. Reliability, transport cost, responsiveness sand IT orientation and communication are the key influential factors in selection of container shipping lines. An online survey was conducted to acquire responses from shipping line customers i.e. freight forwarders, exporters, manufacturers etc. Questionnaires were sent to 350 individuals who have clear responsibility of selecting container shipping line based on their preferences and logistics requirement. Out of these 350 respondents, 150 usable responses were received having a response rate of 44%. Data was analyzed by using SPSS Statistics. Multiple regression tests were run to analyze the significance of influential factors on the selection of container shipping lines. Reliability test was also executed to indicate significance
