    Causes Analysis and Preventive Measures of Blood Donation Reaction of University Student

    Objective: To analyze the causes of blood donation reaction of university students, propose appropriate preventive measures to avoid blood waste and ensure the quality of the blood. Methods: The university students in Guiyang city were selected from January to December 2010, The cases of blood donation reaction and the causes are analyzed on 7063 college students. Results: Among the 7063 college students, there are 292 students with blood donation reaction, the main cause is psychological factors, followed by fatigue before blood donation, not-ideal blood donation environment, limosis or starvation, etc. It occurs more in the first time donors. blood donors with different times and posture have different adverse reactions. Conclusion: Constantly summarizing experiences, development and implementation of scientific and causable preventive measures, improving the environment for blood donation, strengthening the sense of responsibility and sense of service of blood collection personnel, strengthening psychological nursing, giving donors a warm caring and confidence as far as possible, making donors relax mind and in the best state can help to reduce and prevent the occurrence of blood donation reaction, organize  more donators and college students to actively participate in blood donation, in order to promote vigorous, healthy and sustained development of voluntary blood donation. The blood donation adverse reactions of university students are related to the frequency of blood donation and posture, we have developed a series of preventive measures against the causes of blood donation adverse reactions to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions

    Synthesis and electrochemical performance of hierarchical Sb2S3 nanorod-bundles for lithium-ion batteries

    Uniform hierarchical Sb2S3 nanorod-bundles were synthesised successfully by L-cysteine hydrochloride-assisted solvothermal treatment, and were then characterised by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, respectively. The electrochemical performance of the synthesised Sb2S3 nanorod-bundles was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge−discharge technique, respectively. This material was found to exhibit a high initial charge specific capacity of 803 mA h g-1 at a rate of 100 mA g-1, a good cyclability of 614 mA h g-1 at a rate of 100 mA g-1 after 30 cycles, and a good rate capability of 400 mA h g-1 at a rate of 500 mA g-1 when evaluated as an electrode candidate material for lithium-ion batteries

    A genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 knockout screen identifies essential and growth-restricting genes in human trophoblast stem cells

    The recent derivation of human trophoblast stem cells (hTSCs) provides a scalable in vitro model system of human placental development, but the molecular regulators of hTSC identity have not been systematically explored thus far. Here, we utilize a genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 knockout screen to comprehensively identify essential and growth-restricting genes in hTSCs. By cross-referencing our data to those from similar genetic screens performed in other cell types, as well as gene expression data from early human embryos, we define hTSC-specific and -enriched regulators. These include both well-established and previously uncharacterized trophoblast regulators, such as ARID3A, GATA2, and TEAD1 (essential), and GCM1, PTPN14, and TET2 (growth-restricting). Integrated analysis of chromatin accessibility, gene expression, and genome-wide location data reveals that the transcription factor TEAD1 regulates the expression of many trophoblast regulators in hTSCs. In the absence of TEAD1, hTSCs fail to complete faithful differentiation into extravillous trophoblast (EVT) cells and instead show a bias towards syncytiotrophoblast (STB) differentiation, thus indicating that this transcription factor safeguards the bipotent lineage potential of hTSCs. Overall, our study provides a valuable resource for dissecting the molecular regulation of human placental development and diseases

    Lower limb arterial calcification and its clinical relevance with peripheral arterial disease

    Lower limb arterial calcification (LLAC) is associated with an increased risk of mortality and it predicts poor outcomes after endovascular interventions in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD). Detailed histological analysis of human lower artery specimens pinpointed the presence of LLAC in two distinct layers: the intima and the media. Intimal calcification has been assumed to be an atherosclerotic pathology and it is associated with smoking and obesity. It becomes instrumental in lumen stenosis, thereby playing a crucial role in disease progression. On the contrary, medial calcification is a separate process, systematically regulated and linked with age advancement, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. It prominently interacts with vasodilation and arterial stiffness. Given that both types of calcifications frequently co-exist in PAD patients, it is vital to understand their respective mechanisms within the context of PAD. Calcification can be easily identifiable entity on imaging scans. Considering the highly improved abilities of novel imaging technologies in differentiating intimal and medial calcification within the lower limb arteries, this review aimed to describe the distinct histological and imaging features of the two types of LLAC. Additionally, it aims to provide in-depth insight into the risk factors, the effects on hemodynamics, and the clinical implications of LLAC, either occurring in the intimal or medial layers

    Grassland health assessment based on indicators monitored by UAVs: a case study at a household scale

    Grassland health assessment (GHA) is a bridge of study and management of grassland ecosystem. However, there is no standardized quantitative indicators and long-term monitor methods for GHA at a large scale, which may hinder theoretical study and practical application of GHA. In this study, along with previous concept and practices (i.e., CVOR, the integrated indexes of condition, vigor, organization and resilience), we proposed an assessment system based on the indicators monitored by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)-UAVCVOR, and tested the feasibility of UAVCVOR at typical household pastures on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China. Our findings show that: (1) the key indicators of GHA could be measured directly or represented by the relative counterpart indicators that monitored by UAVs, (2) there was a significantly linear relationship between CVOR estimated by field- and UAV-based data, and (3) the CVOR decreased along with the increasing grazing intensity nonlinearly, and there are similar tendencies of CVOR that estimated by the two methods. These findings suggest that UAVs is suitable for GHA efficiently and correctly, which will be useful for the protection and sustainable management of grasslands
