Multi-font Numerals Recognition for Urdu Script based Languages

    Get PDF
International audienceHandwritten character recognition of Urdu script based languages is one of the most difficult task due to complexities of the script. Urdu script based languages has not received much attestation even this script is used more than 1/6th of the population. The complexities in the script makes more complicated the recognition process. The problem in handwritten numeral recognition is the shape similarity between handwritten numerals and dual style for Urdu. This paper presents a fuzzy rule base, HMM and Hybrid approaches for the recognition of numerals both Urdu and Arabic in unconstrained environment from both online and offline domain for online input. Basically offline domain is used for preprocessing i.e normalization, slant normalization. The proposed system is tested and provides accuracy of 97.1

Effects of the supersymmetric phases on the neutral Higgs sector

    Get PDF
By using the effective potential approximation and taking into account the dominant top quark and scalar top quark loops, radiative corrections to MSSM Higgs potential are computed in the presence of the supersymmetric CP-violating phases. It is found that, the lightest Higgs scalar remains essentially CP-even as in the CP-invariant theory whereas the other two scalars are heavy and do not have definite CP properties. The supersymmetric CP-violating phases are shown to modify significantly the decay rates of the scalars to fermion pairs.Comment: 24 pp, 8 figs, 2 tables, typos and errors correcte

Additional phases induced by the supersymmetric CP phases

The explicit CP violation in the MSSM radiatively induces a finite unremovable alignment between the Higgs doublets. This additinal phase can be as large as the original CP phases in certain portions of the MSSM parameter space. Considering the specific case of the charginos, this additional phase is shown to induce a conceivable amount of CP violation near the would--be CP conserving points. Moreover, the CP violation in the absence of this phase is smaller than the one in the presence of it, and the former can never compete with the latter, however large tanβ\tan\beta is.Comment: 29 pp, 15 fig

Charmless hadronic decays BPP,PV,VVB \to PP, PV, VV and new physics effects in the general two-Higgs doublet models

Based on the low-energy effective Hamiltonian with the generalized factorization, we calculate the new physics contributions to the branching ratios of the two-body charmless hadronic decays of BuB_u and BdB_d mesons induced by the new gluonic and electroweak charged-Higgs penguin diagrams in the general two-Higgs doublet models (models I, II and III). Within the considered parameter space, we find that: (a) the new physics effects from new gluonic penguin diagrams strongly dominate over those from the new γ\gamma- and Z0Z^0- penguin diagrams; (b) in models I and II, new physics contributions to most studied B meson decay channels are rather small in size: from -15% to 20%; (c) in model III, however, the new physics enhancements to the penguin-dominated decay modes can be significant, (30200)\sim (30 -200)%, and therefore are measurable in forthcoming high precision B experiments; (d) the new physics enhancements to ratios {\cal B}(B \to K \etap) are significant in model III, (3570)\sim (35 -70)%, and hence provide a simple and plausible new physics interpretation for the observed unexpectedly large B \to K \etap decay rates; (e) the theoretical predictions for B(BK+π){\cal B}(B \to K^+ \pi) and B(BK0π+){\cal B}(B \to K^0 \pi^+) in model III are still consistent with the data within 2σ2\sigma errors; (f) the significant new physics enhancements to the branching ratios of BK0π0,Kη,K+π,K+ϕ,K0ω,K+ϕB \to K^0 \pi^0, K^* \eta, K^{*+} \pi^-, K^+ \phi, K^{*0} \omega, K^{*+} \phi and K0ϕK^{*0} \phi decays are helpful to improve the agreement between the data and the theoretical predictions; (g) the theoretical predictions of B(BPP,PV,VV){\cal B}(B \to PP, PV, VV) in the 2HDM's are generally consistent with experimental measurements and upper limits (9090% C.L.)Comment: 55 pages, Latex file, 17 PS and EPS figures. Combined application of zinc and silicon alleviates terminal drought stress in wheat by triggering morpho-physiological and antioxidants defense mechanisms

Wheat is an important global staple food crop; however, its productivity is severely hampered by changing climate. Erratic rain patterns cause terminal drought stress, which affect reproductive development and crop yield. This study investigates the potential and zinc (Zn) and silicon (Si) to ameliorate terminal drought stress in wheat and associated mechanisms. Two different drought stress levels, i.e., control [80% water holding capacity (WHC) was maintained] and terminal drought stress (40% WHC maintained from BBCH growth stage 49 to 83) combined with five foliar-applied Zn-Si combinations (i.e., control, water spray, 4 mM Zn, 40 mM Si, 4 mM Zn + 40 mM Si applied 7 days after the initiation of drought stress). Results revealed that application of Zn and Si improved chlorophyll and relative water contents under well-watered conditions and terminal drought stress. Foliar application of Si and Zn had significant effect on antioxidant defense mechanism, proline and soluble protein, which showed that application of Si and Zn ameliorated the effects of terminal drought stress mainly by regulating antioxidant defense mechanism, and production of proline and soluble proteins. Combined application of Zn and Si resulted in the highest improvement in growth and antioxidant defense. The application of Zn and Si improved yield and related traits, both under well-watered conditions and terminal drought stress. The highest yield and related traits were recorded for combined application of Zn and Si. For grain and biological yield differences among sole and combined Zn-Si application were statistically non-significant (p>0.05). In conclusion, combined application of Zn-Si ameliorated the adverse effects of terminal drought stress by improving yield through regulating antioxidant mechanism and production of proline and soluble proteins. Results provide valuable insights for further cross talk between Zn-Si regulatory pathways to enhance grain biofortification

TERATOGENIC EFFECTS OF DRUGS ON THE ORGANISM OF A FUTURE CHILD DURING FETAL STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT

Article assesses the impact of adverse factors on intrauterine development of the child, first of all, drugs. The author stresses that the importance of drug safety (D) is due to the large number of unintended pregnancies worldwide. A list of the D, providing proven teratogenic effects on a child organism is presenting. It is shown that the D teratogenic effect in humans can not be assessed on the basis of experimental data obtained in animals due to the difference between metabolic and detoxification processes in a different mammals and individuals. Key words: drugs, safety, teratogenic effects, fetal development, the unborn child. (Pediatric pharmacology. — 2011; 8 (6): 57–60)
