On the Dynamic Stability of a Missile
The P-method given by Parks and Pritchard has been used to discuss the stability behaviour of a missile in free flight. General stability criteria for aerodynamic stabilisation have been obtained for slowly varying coefficients. The effect of pressure gradient on the stability of a coasting rocket has been explicitly examined. It is observed that the positive Magnus moment parameter ensures stability whereas a negative moment parameter would enhance the requirements of a larger stability margin
Organizational Leadership Styles in Startups in Nepal
This study investigates the organizational leadership styles typical of startups in Nepal, a nation renowned for its developing entrepreneurial ecosystem. The study employs a mixed-method approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques, with an emphasis on comprehending the leadership behaviors that promote success and growth in these early businesses. In-depth interviews with company founders, executives, and important stakeholders are conducted as part of the qualitative aspect in order to learn more about their managerial styles, decision-making procedures, and leadership styles. Additionally, observations and case studies of chosen startups provide actual instances of good leadership techniques and how they affect the growth of the firm. A structured questionnaire is given to a different sample of startup employees to gather their impressions of leadership styles inside their individual firms. This complements the qualitative findings. This quantitative information aids in finding patterns, connections, and possible areas for development. This study provides important insights for business owners, investors, and policymakers looking to support a creative and robust startup ecosystem by acquiring a thorough understanding of leadership style in Nepalese companies. The results may also provide a basis for future studies on leadership in developing economies and offer helpful advice for startups as they confront possibilities and obstacles on their way to long-term growth and success. 
Comparative analysis of life tables of Bactrocera tau (Diptera: Tephritidae) collected from different geographical regions of North India
The tomato fruitfly, Bactrocera tau (Walker) (Diptera: Tephritidae) is one of the most important pests of the family Cucurbitaceae. Toinvestigate local adaptation, we measured the variations in life-histories and life-table parameters among populations from five different geographical regions of North India, Ludhiana (262 mt amsl), Solan (1,502 mt amsl), Hisar (215 mt amsl), Pantnagar (344 mt amsl) and Jaach (733 mt amsl). The principal components analysis showed the life-history and life-table parameters of B. tau differed among the five geographical populations. The highest fecundity of 233.20 eggs/female was recorded in the Jaach population and was statistically at par with Hisar (209.21 eggs/female) followed by Solan (202.60 eggs/female), Pantnagar (178.60 eggs/female) and Ludhiana population (105.88 eggs/female). The total developmental period among the five populations of B. tau was the longest for the Pantnagar population (16.20 days) followed by Solan (13.90 days), Hisar (12.60 days), Ludhiana (12.30 days) and Jaach (11.60 days). The true intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm) was 0.120, 0.138, 0.140, 0.116 and 0.153 for the respective geographical regions while the finite rate of increase (?) was 1.13, 1.15, 1.15, 1.12 and 1.16, thus indicating that the fruit fly from Jaach location is more reproductive than the other five geographical regions of North India. Since the study will be useful in knowing the multiplication rate of fruit fly in specific area, accordingly the management practices for this species can be formulated on the bases of these studies. The results thus indicated the geographical variations among different populations of B. tau

Laser Range Sensors
This paper presents the design aspects of laser range finders and proximity sensors beingdeveloped at IRDE for different applications. The principle used in most of the laser rangefinders is pulse echo or time-of-flight measurement. Optical triangulation is used in proximitysensors while techniques like phase detection and interferometry are employed in instrumentsfor surveying and motion controllers where high accuracy is desired. Isolation of yeast from soil and different food samples and its characterization based on fermentation
Yeasts are eukaryotic microorganisms which can also be used for bioethanol production. In this modern era of increasing demand for energy and fuel, the microbial biosynthesis of ethanol has gained importance. In this study, the potential yeasts for ethanol production from pentose and hexose sugars were identified. Yeasts were isolated from soil and different food samples. They were identified and characterized based on cell morphology (e.g., mode of cell division and spore shape) and physiology (e.g., sugar fermentation tests). Furthermore, quantification of ethanol and cell concentration was performed throughout the fermentation. Spot plate count method was followed to determine the viable yeast count whereas Potassium dichromate oxidation method was used for determining the ethanol concentration. Six different species of yeasts were cultured in three sets of broth for 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours for bioethanol production. Attitude Towards Mental Illness Among Medical Students And Interns of a Medical College

Introduction: Mental health and physical health are interconnected. Attitude of medical professionals towards mentally ill affects the quality of care the patient receives. Today’s medical students are tomorrow’s medical practitioner. We conducted a study in a teaching hospital to assess the attitude towards mental illness among medical students and interns.
Methods: A descriptive cross sectional study was performed in 265 students in Kathmandu Medical College in August, 2017. Opinion about Mental Illness (OMI) questionnaire developed by Cohen and Struening was used.
Results: Of the total participants, 49.8%(132) were male and 50.2%(133) were female. Medical students were more authoritarian, more benevolent and believed that mental illness is like any other medical illness. They showed neutral attitude in terms of social restriction of mentally ill and interpersonal relationship as a cause of mental illness.
Conclusions: Positive attitude was seen only in terms of benevolence and mental hygiene ideology. Effective teaching and training programs is necessary to bring in positive attitude change towards mentally ill among medical students
