Public relations are seen as an important part of an organization in helping to bridge the gap with its public so that rapport can be established. Previous researches show that the practises of trust, commitment, community involvement, openness, and customer satisfaction are attributes of Organization Public Relationship (O-PR) practises. However, literature seems to suggest that much research work is needed to develop a model, valid and reliable measurement for this practise. The main goal of this research is to test and compare the model, using confirmatory factor analysis. Questionnaires were distributed to 404 Malaysian university students. Confirmatory factor analysis was done to test whether specific evaluative dimensions relationships based on a theoretical framework that reflects organization-public relationships. The research findings show significant relationships between O-PR practises and organizational reputation. We hope to predict the best O-PR practises, the study elicited that trust; involvement, commitment and satisfaction were shown to have the strongest contributions in O-PR as compared to previous research. The findings of this research will help Public Relations practitioners to measure strategic relationship management and develope the best O-PR practisepractises. The need for improvement in this area requires serious attention, especially to the practises of commitment and customer satisfaction. Conclusions as to the impact of PR as the relationship management of organizations are offered as well as suggestions for future areas of research

    Get PDF
The objective of this project is to improve the heat removal efficiency of heat spreader by replacing the currently used material with copper-carbon composite. Thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion are parameters that must be considered to select a good material for heat spreader. Copper which is currently used as heat spreader has an excellent thermal conductivity but poor coefficient of thermal expansion. In this project, the effect on thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion is investigated by adding carbon to copper. Three samples are prepared by using Hand Press machine and the test for thermal conductivity is conducted by using Hilton Heat Conduction unit. Analysis after experiment shows that sample 1 come out with better value for both parameters compare to copper and alumimium. Results suggest that adding carbon to copper would decrease the thermal conductivity but yield better coefficient of thermal expansion

In view of the escalating environmental problems faced in this millennium with consideration to the rapid depletion of natural resources, the use of by-products or waste materials from different industries are highly desirable. One such alternative is waste paper sludge ash (WPSA), a local by-product produced abundantly by the paper newsprint industry. It has been observed through previous studies that WPSA possesses pozzolanic characteristics in enhancing concrete properties. On the other hand, progressive development in the construction sector recently has contributed as the main producer of construction wastes, particularly concrete wastes. Therefore, the present paper investigates the strength development of lightweight foamed concrete produced with various replacements level of WPSA and ultrafine recycled concrete aggregate (FRCA) to the cement and sand content respectively. The cube specimens were casted in size 100 mm x 100 mm x 100 mm and water cured. The compressive strengths were evaluated at 3, 7, 28 and 60 days. The results of this study showed that the inclusion of WPSA and FRCA have significant influence on the development of strength properties of foamed concrete

The usage of pesticide in the industry will help increase crop yield and meet consumer demand for Malaysia, a country that is undergoing economic revolution through the agricultural. However, the excessive and inappropriateness use of pesticides can affect the environment, water quality and public health. In this experiment, 40 adult African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) were divided and exposed into sublethal concentrations of Malathion (0.8, 1.6 and 3.0 ppm) and a control group for 48 hours. At the end of the study, all fish were sacrificed before skin and gill samples were collected to determine the effect of malathion on the gills and skin. The histopathological lesions in the gills and skin were scored and statistically analysed to compare between group. Histological examination of the gill showed epithelial lifting at secondary lamella, hyperplasia of primary epithelium, fusion of secondary lamella and infiltration of inflammatory cells with peeling and rupture of epithelial cells of secondary lamellae. In the skin, the changes observed were hyperplasia of mucus cell and shrinkage of the club cells after the exposure to malathion. There were significant differences between treatment and control groups. Thus, malathion causes concentration-independent and nonspecific lesions in the gills and skin of African catfish

Qibla is a most important direction which is needed to alive as well as to dead. Every Muslim has to face this direction five times a day to perform his obligatory prayer. Facing this direction is necessary condition for the prayer’s validity. The qibla is the direction to Kaabah, but what precisely is that direction? A classical definition for determination of qibla direction is given by Ibn al-Haytham: "the qibla is the direction such that when a human observer faces it, it is as if he is looking at the diameter of the earth passing through the Kaabah” Here, we proposed new technique called Vector Method [Vec-M\ for determining qibla direction. The problem of determining the direction of qibla is a problem of mathematical geography. Thus, this project describes about the methods of the mathematical calculation of qibla by using modern approach. Methods discuss are Spherical Trigonometry Method and Vector Method. The accuracy of the proposed method were compared. Besides, the discussion is confined to the scientific aspects of the subject and the religion rulings are analyzed only for an underlying scientific assumption and also for knowledge purposes

    Get PDF
Background and Purpose: With fund scarcity eminent in Malaysia, soliciting donations effectively is essential to any non-profit organisation (NPO). Many NPOs struggle to raise funds to execute a beneficial project for society. The dimensions to identify relevant online factors influencing the NPO website user decision-making process slowly evolved in a local context due to limited interest in exploring this field. This research was conducted to identify relevant variables related to NPO website user interest to donate. However, a proper instrument must be developed to meet the research aim. Thus, this research was conducted to identify relevant variables and items in the research instrument.   Methodology: The study collected 269 responses from ten popular NPO website users. Their responses were recorded using the five-point Likert Scale questionnaire ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree. At first, the study conducted a content validity test and a pre-test. The sample size is determined based on the SEM requirement. Finally, the responses are analysed using pooled confirmatory factor analysis to determine the instrument reliability and validity.   Findings: Only seven variables are retained after the validity and reliability analysis, with 43 items out of 74 items. The result indicated only information, system, service quality, perceived ease of use, and trust are relevant for the NPO to meet website user satisfaction and influence their decision to donate.   Contributions: The finding is essential as a guideline to develop a website that meets user preferences. The result also contributed to the website quality literature for the non-profit sector.   Keywords: Website quality, trust, satisfaction, non-profit organisation, technology acceptance model. Get PDF
COVID-19 has impacted not only human lives, but also business organisations. The repercussions of the pandemic on global businesses include sustaining the value of a firm that could benefit stakeholders, such as the challenge for sponsored properties to attain sponsorship through a period of financial struggles and the capacity of a sponsor to provide it. It is imperative for business-to-business (B2B) communities to evaluate criteria and risks of sponsorship to instil public trust and consequently result in value creation for firms. At the same time, the role of the media is pivotal to create visibility of this partnership and achieve set sponsorship aims. With that said, the objective of this study is to explore the role of sponsorship decision making by Malaysian organisations during the pandemic and how the media have strengthened relationship marketing between businesses and their stakeholders; by examining the determinant factors of using media as an activation in sponsorship and the criteria of using media in sponsorship. The qualitative study conducted interviews with 13 corporate communication and marketing managers in Malaysia that are involved directly with sponsorship activation. The findings highlight the sponsorship ecosystem through the Malaysian media and B2B perspectives that would guide practitioners in making strategic decisions on B2B sponsorship matters, particularly on the relational approaches and media engagement should be seen as part of good business conduct. Future recommendation of this research is to seek the perceptions of consumers on the congruence of relationship marketing through sponsor-sponsored properties collaboration in Malaysian media
