Testing Several Correlation Matrices Using Robust Approach
Background and Objective: The performance of classical Jennrich (J) statistic using classical estimators suffers from masking effects. To relieve the problem, robust estimators are recommended. In this study, a robust Jennrich statistic was proposed based on a S estimator (JS) and M estimator (JM) as alternative to the J statistic, which has good properties. Methodology: In the simulation study, the performance of proposed test is assessed in terms of a type I error and the power of test. The performance comparison between classical J, JS and JM statistics are conducted under several conditions. Results: The results of simulation study showed that JS statistic has a competitive performance comparative to a JM statistic and the J statistic. Conclusion: It was concluded that JS statistic is robust for testing the equality of two or more difference correlation matrices when the data contains outlier. © 2018 Shamshuritawati Sharif and Tareq Ahmed Mahmoud Atiany
Asia-Pacific currencies structure aftermath Tohoku earthquake
This study investigates the aftermath of Tohoku earthquake to the structure of Asia-Pacific currencies.The M statistic and Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) are employed to study the stability of the covariance currencies structure and its causes, respectively.To filter the information from MST, we use a degree centrality measure. The results showed that the Tohoku earthquake that struck Japan on March 2011 had increased the volatility of currencies exchange and made currencies unstable. From the control chart, it shows that the currencies are not stable from Jan 2010 until Dec 2011.Based on sample data of Nov 2011, we can conclude that LKR and HKD are the unstable currencies among the others
Ovine paratuberculosis: a confirmed case of Johne's disease in Libya
Paratuberculosis (Johne's disease) was suspected in a herd of approximately 300 sheep after weight loss and scouring had increased in adult animals despite repeated treatment with anthelmintics, antibiotics, multivitamins and minerals. The herd is located near Tarhouna city. Herd history revealed that a total of 60 ewes showed clinical symptoms and deaths during the last two years. The last case that we attended was submitted to the National Center of Animal Health (NCAH) for a detailed laboratory examination. Gross pathological and histological examination of tissue samples revealed results that were highly comparable with Johne's disease. A definitive diagnosis was made only by histopathological identification of Mycobacterium paratuberculosis in the intestines using Ziehl-Neelsen stain. This is the first documented case of M. paratuberculosis in sheep in Libya
Energy Distribution in f(R) Gravity
The well-known energy problem is discussed in f(R) theory of gravity. We use
the generalized Landau-Lifshitz energy-momentum complex in the framework of
metric f(R) gravity to evaluate the energy density of plane symmetric solutions
for some general f(R) models. In particular, this quantity is found for some
popular choices of f(R) models. The constant scalar curvature condition and the
stability condition for these models are also discussed. Further, we

Distribution of Energy-Momentum in a Schwarzschild-Quintessence Space-time Geometry
An analysis of the energy-momentum localization for a four-dimensional\break
Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence is presented in order to
provide expressions for the distributions of energy and momentum. The
calculations are performed by using the Landau-Lifshitz and Weinberg
energy-momentum complexes. It is shown that all the momenta vanish, while the
expression for the energy depends on the mass of the black hole, the state
parameter and the normalization factor . The special case of

Abnormal Visuo-vestibular Interactions in Vestibular Migraine: a Cross Sectional Study
Vestibular migraine is amongst the commonest causes of episodic vertigo. Chronically, patients with vestibular migraine develop abnormal responsiveness to both vestibular and visual stimuli characterised by heightened self-motion sensitivity and visually-induced dizziness. Yet, the neural mechanisms mediating such symptoms remain unknown. We postulate that such symptoms are attributable to impaired visuo-vestibular cortical interactions, which in-turn disrupts normal vestibular function. To assess this, we investigated whether prolonged, full-field visual motion exposure, which has previously been shown to modulate visual cortical excitability in both healthy individuals and avestibular patients, could disrupt vestibular ocular reflex (VOR) and vestibular-perceptual thresholds of self-motion during rotations. Our findings reveal that vestibular migraine patients exhibited abnormally elevated reflexive and perceptual vestibular thresholds at baseline. Following visual motion exposure, both reflex and perceptual thresholds were significantly further increased in vestibular migraine patients relative to healthy controls, migraineurs without vestibular symptoms and patients with episodic vertigo due to a peripheral inner-ear disorder. Our results provide support for the notion of altered visuo-vestibular cortical interactions in vestibular migraine, as evidenced by vestibular threshold elevation following visual motion exposure
On the energy of charged black holes in generalized dilaton-axion gravity
In this paper we calculate the energy distribution of some charged black
holes in generalized dilaton-axion gravity. The solutions correspond to charged
black holes arising in a Kalb-Ramond-dilaton background and some existing
non-rotating black hole solutions are recovered in special cases. We focus our
study to asymptotically flat and asymptotically non-flat types of solutions and
resort for this purpose to the M{\o}ller prescription. Various aspects of

Information for decision making from imperfect national data: tracking major changes in health care use in Kenya using geostatistics
Background: most Ministries of Health across Africa invest substantial resources in some form of health management information system (HMIS) to coordinate the routine acquisition and compilation of monthly treatment and attendance records from health facilities nationwide. Despite the expense of these systems, poor data coverage means they are rarely, if ever, used to generate reliable evidence for decision makers. One critical weakness across Africa is the current lack of capacity to effectively monitor patterns of service use through time so that the impacts ofchanges in policy or service delivery can be evaluated. Here, we present a new approach that, for the first time, allows national changes in health service use during a time of major health policy change to be tracked reliably using imperfect data from a national HMIS.Methods: monthly attendance records were obtained from the Kenyan HMIS for 1 271 government-run and 402 faith-based outpatient facilities nationwide between 1996 and 2004. Aspace-time geostatistical model was used to compensate for the large proportion of missing records caused by non-reporting health facilities, allowing robust estimation of monthly and annualuse of services by outpatients during this period.Results: we were able to reconstruct robust time series of mean levels of outpatient utilisation of health facilities at the national level and for all six major provinces in Kenya. These plots revealed reliably for the first time a period of steady nationwide decline in the use of health facilities in Kenyabetween 1996 and 2002, followed by a dramatic increase from 2003. This pattern was consistent across different causes of attendance and was observed independently in each province.Conclusion: the methodological approach presented can compensate for missing records in health information systems to provide robust estimates of national patterns of outpatient service use. This represents the first such use of HMIS data and contributes to the resurrection of these hugely expensive but underused systems as national monitoring tools. Applying this approach to Kenya has yielded output with immediate potential to enhance the capacity of decision makers in monitoring nationwide patterns of service use and assessing the impact of changes in health policy and service deliver
Cold Plasma Dispersion Relations in the Vicinity of a Schwarzschild Black Hole Horizon
We apply the ADM 3+1 formalism to derive the general relativistic
magnetohydrodynamic equations for cold plasma in spatially flat Schwarzschild
metric. Respective perturbed equations are linearized for non-magnetized and
magnetized plasmas both in non-rotating and rotating backgrounds. These are
then Fourier analyzed and the corresponding dispersion relations are obtained.
These relations are discussed for the existence of waves with positive angular
frequency in the region near the horizon. Our results support the fact that no
information can be extracted from the Schwarzschild black hole. It is concluded
that negative phase velocity propagates in the rotating background whether the

About Bianchi I with VSL
In this paper we study how to attack, through different techniques, a perfect
fluid Bianchi I model with variable G,c and Lambda, but taking into account the
effects of a -variable into the curvature tensor. We study the model under
the assumption,div(T)=0. These tactics are: Lie groups method (LM), imposing a
particular symmetry, self-similarity (SS), matter collineations (MC) and
kinematical self-similarity (KSS). We compare both tactics since they are quite
similar (symmetry principles). We arrive to the conclusion that the LM is too
restrictive and brings us to get only the flat FRW solution. The SS, MC and KSS
approaches bring us to obtain all the quantities depending on \int c(t)dt.
Therefore, in order to study their behavior we impose some physical
restrictions like for example the condition q<0 (accelerating universe). In
this way we find that is a growing time function and Lambda is a decreasing
time function whose sing depends on the equation of state, w, while the
exponents of the scale factor must satisfy the conditions

, i.e. for all equation of state relaxing in this way the
Kasner conditions. The behavior of depends on two parameters, the equation
of state and a parameter that controls the behavior of
therefore may be growing or decreasing.We also show that through
the Lie method, there is no difference between to study the field equations
under the assumption of a var affecting to the curvature tensor which the
other one where it is not considered such effects.Nevertheless, it is essential
to consider such effects in the cases studied under the SS, MC, and KSS
