Direct measurement of general quantum states using weak measurement
Recent work [J.S. Lundeen et al. Nature, 474, 188 (2011)] directly measured
the wavefunction by weakly measuring a variable followed by a normal (i.e.
`strong') measurement of the complementary variable. We generalize this method
to mixed states by considering the weak measurement of various products of
these observables, thereby providing the density matrix an operational
definition in terms of a procedure for its direct measurement. The method only
requires measurements in two bases and can be performed `in situ', determining
the quantum state without destroying it.Comment: This is a later and very different version of arXiv:1110.0727v3
[quant-ph]. New content: a method to directly measure each element of the
density matrix, specific Hamiltonians to weakly measure the product of
non-commuting observables, and references to recent related wor
G343.1-2.3 and PSR 1706-44
The association of G343.1-2.3 and PSR 1706-44 has been controversial from its first proposal. In this paper we present new evidence from images made by with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA), MRT and Mt. Pleasant. To cover the full extent of G343.1-2.3 with ATCA mosaicing was required, and we present the polarisation images from this experiment. The ATCA observations confirms the much larger extent of the SNR, which now encompasses the pulsar
TOWARDS AN IOT APPLICATION FOR SUPERVISION OF TRANSPARENT BINDING AND ASCETIC DESIGN
Since that time, ZigBee technologies have been extensively utilized in a wide range of fields, supplying communications and sensing with low power consumption, high reliability, and multi-node networking. With regards to the consumer market in ZigBee-related technologies have existed for any lengthy time but aren't yet globally used. Regarding smart families for example, costs, system installation and operational complexity affect consumer acceptance. ZigBee, which is often used mainly to make short-range wireless connections, is really a communication technology that's a hybrid of wireless marking technology and Bluetooth wireless technology. The machine is operated utilizing a ZigBee remote controller, tablet or cell phone with an Ethernet or Wi-Fi. The primary concept of the suggested product is to supply better and efficient health services towards the patients by applying a networked information cloud so the experts and doctors could utilize this data and supply a quick as well as an efficient solution. Compare the particular RSSI values using the average of 30 RSSI values of automatic lighting configuration by sampling the sunlight return records every thirty seconds. Full deployment of smart meters was already finished in Italia and Norway, and mass rollout is ongoing in Finland and The country. This infrastructure, if used correctly, can offer not only recording use of electricity or perhaps a decision support tool to aid energy usage by users. Better consumer awareness is anticipated to lead to reduced energy consumption thus reducing the requirement for additional power plants which generate green house gases. Restricting and reducing electricity usage during peak periods can lead to cutting lower on the necessity of using peeked plants which usually make greater carbon emissions

Impact of heat treatment analysis on the wear behaviour of al-14.2si-0.3mg-tic composite using response surface methodology
Al-14.2Si-0.3Mg Alloy reinforced with hard phased TiC coarse particulates (10 wt-%) was contrived using the liquid metallurgy route. The so fabricated aluminium metal matrix composites was made to undergo solutionising at 5250C for 12 hours in a heat treatment furnace and was subsequently water quenched to room temperature. The developed composite was then kept for age hardening at varying temperatures and time for enhanced tribological properties. A pin on disc Tribometer (ASTM-G99) was utilised to study the wear properties of the fabricated composite. Aging temperature (0C), applied load (N) and Aging time (hours) were chosen as the process parameters for analysing the material\u27s resistance to wear. Using response surface methodology the influence of reinforcement in the wear properties of the composite was studied. The design of the regression equation was prepared and the impact of each experimental parameter was scrutinized. Results depict that with an increase in the aging temperature, aging time and load, there observed a variation in the materials wear properties. The worn-out surface of the metal matrix composite was then investigated with the help of the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
Model for Glass Transition in a Binary fluid from a Mode Coupling approach
We consider the Mode Coupling Theory (MCT) of Glass transition for a Binary
fluid. The Equations of Nonlinear Fluctuating Hydrodynamics are obtained with a
proper choice of the slow variables corresponding to the conservation laws. The
resulting model equations are solved in the long time limit to locate the
dynamic transition. The transition point from our model is considerably higher
than predicted in existing MCT models for binary systems. This is in agreement
with what is seen in Computer Simulation of binary fluids. fluids.Comment: 9 Pages, 3 Figure
Fermi surface renormalization in Hubbard ladders
We derive the one-loop renormalization equations for the shift in the
Fermi-wavevectors for one-dimensional interacting models with four Fermi-points
(two left and two right movers) and two Fermi velocities v_1 and v_2. We find
the shift to be proportional to (v_1-v_2)U^2, where U is the Hubbard-U. Our
results apply to the Hubbard ladder and to the t_1-t_2 Hubbard model. The
Fermi-sea with fewer particles tends to empty. The stability of a saddle point
due to shifts of the Fermi-energy and the shift of the Fermi-wavevector at the
Mott-Hubbard transition are discussed.Comment: 5 pages, 4 Postscript figure
Quantum Dots with Disorder and Interactions: A Solvable Large-g Limit
We show that problem of interacting electrons in a quantum dot with chaotic
boundary conditions is solvable in the large-g limit, where g is the
dimensionless conductance of the dot. The critical point of the
theory (whose location and exponent are known exactly) that separates strong
and weak-coupling phases also controls a wider fan-shaped region in the
coupling-1/g plane, just as a quantum critical point controls the fan in at
T>0. The weak-coupling phase is governed by the Universal Hamiltonian and the
strong-coupling phase is a disordered version of the Pomeranchuk transition in
a clean Fermi liquid. Predictions are made in the various regimes for the
Coulomb Blockade peak spacing distributions and Fock-space delocalization
(reflected in the quasiparticle width and ground state wavefunction).Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
Conductance oscillations in strongly correlated fractional quantum Hall line junctions
We present a detailed theory of transport through line junctions formed by
counterpropagating single-branch fractional-quantum-Hall edge channels having
different filling factors. Intriguing transport properties are exhibited when
strong Coulomb interactions between electrons from the two edges are present.
Such strongly correlated line junctions can be classified according to the
value of an effective line-junction filling factor n that is the inverse of an
even integer. Interactions turn out to affect transport most importantly for
n=1/2 and n=1/4. A particularly interesting case is n=1/4 corresponding to,
e.g., a junction of edge channels having filling factor 1 and 1/5,
respectively. We predict its differential tunneling conductance to oscillate as
a function of voltage. This behavior directly reflects the existence of novel
Majorana-fermion quasiparticle excitations in this type of line junction.
Experimental accessibility of such systems in current cleaved-edge overgrown
samples enables direct testing of our theoretical predictions.Comment: 2 figures, 10 pages, RevTex4, v2: added second figure for clarit
