    Multi Stage Classification and Segmentation of Brain Tumor Images Based on Statistical Feature Extraction Technique

    Automatic classification of brain images has a censorious act in calm down the burden of manual characterize and developing power of brain tumor diagnosis. In this paper, Stanchion Vector Machine (SVM) method has been employed to perform classification of brain tumor images into their variety and grades. Chiefly the target is on four brain tumor categories-Normal, Glioma, Meningioma, Metastasis and the four grades of Astrocytomas, which is a conventional section of Glioma. We consult segmentation of glioma tumors, which have a large deviation in size, pattern and appearance inheritance. In this paper images are enlarged and normalized to same range in a pre-functioning stride.The enlarged images are then segmented positioned on their intensities applying 3D super-voxels. This effort analyze the SVM classifier applying variance statistical feature set the final analysis shows that for brain tumor categories and grades classification. The analyses are repeated for variance SVM categories, kernel categories and gamma points of kernel section. Analysis on the misclassification is implemented for each feature set applying specificity and sensitivity measures. At the end of this effort, we inferred that the Statistical feature Extraction(SFE) method is classifying the brain tumor categories satisfactorily but comparatively lacks in tumor grade classification.     FADE SLOPE ESTIMATION USING TIME DOMAIN METHOD

    An analysis is made of the measured distributions of the fade slope of rain attenuation, conditional for attenuation values, measured at Eindhoven University of Technology from the satellite Olympus. It is found that the distribution is similar for positive and negative fade slopes and independent of frequency in the range from 12 to 30 GHz. A distribution model for the conditional distribution is found. The only parameter of the distribution is the standard deviation, which is found to be proportional to attenuation level and dependent on rain type, on the low-pass filter bandwidth and on the time interval used in the slope calculation. The observed relation between the standard deviation and attenuation is compared with results from other measurement sites. From this comparison it is found that the fade slope standard deviation is likely to depend on elevation angle and on climate, through its dependence on rain type

    Stability indicating RP-HPLC method development and validation for the simultaneous estimation of ceftriaxone and tazobactum in sterile powder for injection

    A simple, rapid, precise and accurate method is developed for the quantitative simultaneous determination of ceftriaxone and tazobactum in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations. Separation of ceftriaxone and tazobactum was successfully achieved by using Inertsil C18 ODS column 250X4.6mm, 5µm in an isocratic mode using water and acetonitrile (80:20) at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min and was monitored at 254 nm with a retention time of 3.049 minutes and 4.317 minutes for ceftriaxone and tazobactum respectively. The method was validated and the response was found to be linear in the drug concentration range of 20µg/ml to 80 µg/ml for ceftriaxone and 5 µg/ml to 35 µg/ml for tazobactum. The values of the correlation coefficient were found to be 0.999 for ceftriaxone and 0.999 for tazobactum respectively. The LOD and LOQ for ceftriaxone were found to be 0.021 and 0.064 respectively. The LOD and LOQ for tazobactum were found to be 0.030 and 0.091 respectively. The percentage recovery for ceftriaxone and tazobactum were found to be 98-102% respectively which indicates that the proposed method is highly accurate. The specificity of the method shows good correlation between retention times of standard with the sample. The method was extensively validated according to ICH guidelines for Linearity, Accuracy, Precision, Specificity and Robustness.  Stability of the drugs was determined by using acid/base, thermal, oxidative stress testing

    The fork length of the specimens of C. hippurus collected along Karnataka coast ranged from 30- 123 cm and fishes having length range from 33-73 cm represented 79% of the total fish sampled. The estimated b values of C. hippurus for both males and females were less than 3 which indicated negative allometric growth; the fish grows faster in length than weight. The most dominant item recorded in the gut of C. hippurus was pelagic and mesopelagic teleosts. Cephalopods (squids, cuttlefish and octopus) were the second important food constituent while crustaceans consisting of crabs and shrimps formed very less quantity

    Data analysis for GOPEX image frames

    The data analysis based on the image frames received at the Solid State Imaging (SSI) camera of the Galileo Optical Experiment (GOPEX) demonstration conducted between 9-16 Dec. 1992 is described. Laser uplink was successfully established between the ground and the Galileo spacecraft during its second Earth-gravity-assist phase in December 1992. SSI camera frames were acquired which contained images of detected laser pulses transmitted from the Table Mountain Facility (TMF), Wrightwood, California, and the Starfire Optical Range (SOR), Albuquerque, New Mexico. Laser pulse data were processed using standard image-processing techniques at the Multimission Image Processing Laboratory (MIPL) for preliminary pulse identification and to produce public release images. Subsequent image analysis corrected for background noise to measure received pulse intensities. Data were plotted to obtain histograms on a daily basis and were then compared with theoretical results derived from applicable weak-turbulence and strong-turbulence considerations. Processing steps are described and the theories are compared with the experimental results. Quantitative agreement was found in both turbulence regimes, and better agreement would have been found, given more received laser pulses. Future experiments should consider methods to reliably measure low-intensity pulses, and through experimental planning to geometrically locate pulse positions with greater certainty

    The radical character of the acenes: A density matrix renormalization group study

    We present a detailed investigation of the acene series using high-level wavefunction theory. Our ab-initio Density Matrix Renormalization Group algorithm has enabled us to carry out Complete Active Space calculations on the acenes from napthalene to dodecacene correlating the full pi-valence space. While we find that the ground-state is a singlet for all chain-lengths, examination of several measures of radical character, including the natural orbitals, effective number of unpaired electrons, and various correlation functions, suggests that the longer acene ground-states are polyradical in nature.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures, supplementary material, to be published in J.     FORMULATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF LEVAMISOLE CHEWABLE TABLETS

    Objective: The aim of the present study was to prepare and optimize levamisole chewable tablets by using various super disintegrants, namely; sodium starch glycolate, DRC Indion 204, and DRC Indion 234. Methods: Drug excipient compatibility study was carried out by FTIR spectroscopy to verify the compatibility of levamisole with the excipients. Nine batches of levamisole chewable tablets were prepared according to 32 factorial designs using a direct compression method by optimizing the super disintegrant concentration. The powder blend was exposed to pre-compression studies of the powder blend followed by post-compression studies of the formulated tablets. Results: FTIR study revealed that the excipients used in the formulations were compatible with the drug. The pre-compression and post-compression parameters were found within the IP limits. Form the dissolution studies, it was evident that the formulation prepared with DRC Indion 234 (50 mg) showed maximum percentage drug release in 45 min (97.13%) hence it is considered as optimized formulation. When compared to all other formulation, the batches with DRC Indion 234 (F7-F9) showed a better release of the drug (90 % drug release within 45 min). Conclusion: Nine batches of levamisole chewable tablets were successfully formulated by optimizing the concentration of super disintegrants such as sodium starch glycolate, DRC Indion 204, and DRC Indion 234. It was concluded from the dissolution studies that the DRC Indion 234 is the best super disintegrant irrespective of their concentration for the formulation of levamisole chewable tablets when compared to sodium starch Glycolate and DRC Indion 204

    Towards an analytical description of active microswimmers in clean and in surfactant-covered drops

    Geometric confinements are frequently encountered in the biological world and strongly affect the stability, topology, and transport properties of active suspensions in viscous flow. Based on a far-field analytical model, the low-Reynolds-number locomotion of a self-propelled microswimmer moving inside a clean viscous drop or a drop covered with a homogeneously distributed surfactant, is theoretically examined. The interfacial viscous stresses induced by the surfactant are described by the well-established Boussinesq-Scriven constitutive rheological model. Moreover, the active agent is represented by a force dipole and the resulting fluid-mediated hydrodynamic couplings between the swimmer and the confining drop are investigated. We find that the presence of the surfactant significantly alters the dynamics of the encapsulated swimmer by enhancing its reorientation. Exact solutions for the velocity images for the Stokeslet and dipolar flow singularities inside the drop are introduced and expressed in terms of infinite series of harmonic components. Our results offer useful insights into guiding principles for the control of confined active matter systems and support the objective of utilizing synthetic microswimmers to drive drops for targeted drug delivery applications.Comment: 19 pages, 7 figures.
