    DNA ploidy analysis of borderline epithelial ovarian tumours

    Objective: Borderline epithelial ovarian tumors not uncommonly pose a great difficulty to surgical pathologists as morphologically they may show very similar features as those of malignant epithelial tumors except invasion. However it is important to separate these from their invasive counterparts because of their superior prognosis. Recently, attention has been focussed on the prognostic value of flow cytometric analysis of DNA ploidy in borderline epithelial ovarian tumors. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether flow cytometric analysis of cellular DNA content acts as a useful adjunct to the histopathological diagnosis of borderline malignancy. Materials and Methods: Fifteen histologically confirmed borderline serous epithelial tumors of the ovary were selected. Samples were analyzed on a FACScan flow cytometer using the software MODFIT. A total of 10,000 nuclei were counted each time. Results: The mean CV for the 15 cases was 3.67 (Range 2.4-5.0). In the DNA histograms a diploid sample was defined as one that had a single Go/Cl peak. An aneuploid tumour was defined as one that displayed an additional distinct peak. All 15 cases of borderline serous epithelial tumors showed a diploid stemlinc with DNA index between 0.9-i .10 Conclusion: This study suggests that aneuploidy if ever demonstrated in histological confirmed borderline tumors should prompt extensive sampling of the tumor and a close follow up

    Survey of Hypocalcaemia Frequency in District Lahore, Pakistan

    Calcium is important for regulation of various physiological functions like bones, teeth, different types of muscular movements, blood pressure, body growth and maintenance. But continuous calcium deficiency may cause hypocalcaemia in which major cause is insufficient intake of calcium along with other pathological states, financial constraints and lack of general public awareness about the significance and physiological role of calcium. Statistical analysis on the basis of current survey indicates that females remain malnourished and suffer from hypocalcaemia more than males. That’s why; there is urgent need of organized efforts for general public awareness from government and private platforms. Moreover, future researchers should introduce better diagnosis techniques and economical dietary sources and treatments to reduce frequency of hypocalcaemia

    A framework of network connectivity management in multi-clouds infrastructure

    The network function virtualization (NFV) transformation is gaining an incredible momentum from mobile operators as one of the significant solutions to improve the resource allocation and system scalability in fifth-generation (5G) networks. However, the ultra-dense deployments in 5G create high volumes of traffic that pushes the physical and virtual resources of cloud-based networks to edge limits. Consider a distributed cloud, replacing the core network with virtual entities in the form of virtual network functions (VNFs) still requires efficient integration with various underlying hardware technologies. Therefore, orchestrating the distribution of load between cloud geo-datacenters starts by instantiating a virtual and physical network typologies that connect involved front haul with relevant VNFs. In this article, we provide a framework to manage calls within 5G network clusters for efficient utilization of computational resources and also to prevent unnecessary signaling. We also propose a new scheme to instantiate virtual tunnels for call forwarding between network clusters leading to new logic networks that combine geo-datacenters and fronthaul. To facilitate service chaining in cloud, we propose a new enhanced management and orchestration (E-MANO) architecture that brings network traffic policies from the application layer tothe fronthaul for instant monitoring of available resources.     A Stitch in Time Saves Nine: Nexus between Critical Delay Factors, Leadership Self-Efficacy, and Transnational Mega Construction Project Success

    Delay factors are frequent in the construction industry globally, resulting in significant overruns in project cost and time. In context, megaprojects can be more prone to critical delays, hence, demanding a high degree of self-confident leadership. Despite the continuous scholarly attempts to examine mega construction project success, the underlying role of critical delay factors and leadership self-efficacy has been largely overlooked. Hence, to address these rarely examined linkages, the present study empirically explored the effects of critical delay factors (CDFs) on transnational mega construction project (TMCP) success with the moderating influence of leadership self-efficacy (LSE). Based on a study sample (N = 211) extracted from the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, the hypothesized relationships were tested through partial least squares–structural equation modeling. The study included nine critical delay factors and three subdimensions of TMCP success, derived from previous research. The findings revealed a negative relationship between CDFs and TMCP success, as a 1% increase in CDFs triggered a 28.8% negative change in TMCP success. A positive moderating effect of LSE on the relationship between CDFs and TMCP success was also empirically supported, as 1% increase in LSE resulted in 18.4% positive change in TMCP success. The present study bridges the fragmented literature on critical delay factors in the global construction industry, megaproject success, and project leadership, by providing the first empirical evidence linking these potential relationships. Moreover, the present study also provides an extension to existing studies to identify the role of CDFs and LSE in impacting multi-faceted success (i.e., management success, ownership success, and investment success) in mega construction projects

    Enabling digital grid for industrial revolution: self-healing cyber resilient platform

    The key market objectives driving digital grid development are to provide sustainable, reliable and secure network systems that can support variety of applications against any potential cyber attacks. Therefore, there is an urgent demand to accelerate the development of intelligent Software-Defined Networking (SDN) platform that can address the tremendous challenges of data protection for digital resiliency. Modern grid technology tends to adopt distributed SDN controllers for further slicing power grid domain and protect the boundaries of electric data at network edges. To accommodate these issues, this article proposes an intelligent secure SDN controller for supporting digital grid resiliency, considering management coordination capability, to enable self-healing features and recovery of network traffic forwarding during service interruptions. A set of advanced features are employed in grid controllers to configure the network elements in response to possible disasters or link failures. In addition, various SDN topology scenarios are introduced for efficient coordination and configurations of network domains. Finally, to justify the potential advantages of intelligent secure SDN system, a case study is presented to evaluate the requirements of secure digital modern grid networks and pave the path towards the next phase of industry revolution

    Prevalence of Gastrointestinal Infections in Hostel Residents of Lahore, Pakistan

    To maintain our good health, properly functioning gastrointestinal (GIT) track is always considered essential. Though in current era, living standards are much improved now but still gut infections are frequently reported around the globe. Because in third world countries, like Pakistan even in big cities people don’t have dietary sources of good quality. That’s why; a survey of randomly selected 10 hostels was conducted to estimate the prevalence of gastrointestinal infections among them. The results showed that mostly sufferers fall in age group of 18-28years and among them, females are more than males. Important causative factors for transmission of enteric pathogens are intake of impure water (in 42% cases), unhygienic food (in 18% cases) and blend of these two (in 33% cases) with major symptoms of abdominal discomfort, acid reflux, nausea and vomiting. But still only 19% gastric patients of hostel take proper medication for cure and rest of other are left untreated either due to lack of awareness or financial constraints. So these issues should be seriously addressed by the authorities to control the frequency of GIT infections among hostilities of Lahore, Pakistan

    Machine learning and multi-dimension features based adaptive intrusion detection in ICN

    As a new network architecture, Information-Centric Networks (ICN) has great advantages in content distribution and can better meet our needs. But it faced with many threats unavoidably. There are four types of attack in ICN: naming related attacks, routing related attacks, caching related attacks and miscellaneous attacks. These attacks will undermine the availability of ICN, the confidentiality and privacy of data. In addition, routers store a large amount of content for the users' request, and it is necessary to protect these intermediate nodes. Since the styles of content stored in nodes are not the same, using a unified set of intrusion detection rules simply will cause a large number of false positives and false negatives. Therefore, every node should perform intrusion detection according to its own characteristics. In this paper, we propose an intrusion detection mechanism to alert for abnormal packets. We introduce a extensive solution using machine learning for attacks in ICN. Moreover, the nodes in this scheme can adapt to the external environment and intelligently detect packets. Simulation on the machine learning algorithm involved prove that the algorithm is effective and suitable for network packets

    Relevant p-hole tetrel bonding interactions in ethyl 2-triazolyl-2-oxoacetate derivatives: Hirshfeld surface analysis and DFT calculations

    This manuscript reports the synthesis, spectroscopic and X-ray characterization of four triazole derivatives that include an α-ketoester functionality and two phenyl substituents. In particular ethyl 2-(4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(4-methylbenzyl)- 1H-1,2,3-triazol-5-yl)-2-oxoacetate (1), ethyl 2-(1-(4-methylbenzyl)-4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3- triazol-5-yl)-2-oxoacetate (2), ethyl 2-(1-benzyl-4-(3-fluorophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-5- yl)-2-oxoacetate (3) and ethyl 2-(1-benzyl-4-(4-methoxyphenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-5-yl)-2- oxoacetate (4) were synthesized in good yields. All compounds form self-assembled dimers in the solid state establishing two symmetrically equivalent O···π-hole tetrel bonding interactions. These interactions have been analyzed using Hirshfeld surface analysis, DFT calculations and the Bader’s theory of atoms-in-molecules and further rationalized using the molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) surface calculations.
