Spiritual leadership and job involvement have significant role in these changes. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between spiritual leadership and employee involvement in the selected teaching hospitals affiliated with Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 236 administrative and clinical staff who were selected using stratified random sampling in selected teaching hospitals affiliated with Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd. Data were collected using valid and reliable questionnaires consisting of spiritual leadership and job involvement. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test, Mann-Whitney test, ANOVA, and Kruskal-Wallis test) by SPSS 17. Results: The average score of spiritual leadership in hospital A and B were 2.51 and 2.55, respectively. The average scores of job involvement in the hospitals was 2.55. The level of variables in both hospitals were intermediate. There was a direct relationship between spiritual leadership and job involvement (P=0.00); in other words, improvement of the spiritual leadership level increased employee involvement. Conclusion: Managers of the organizations involved in healthcare in addition to focusing on various aspects of spiritual leadership, should strengthen the sense of job security in employees in order to improve employees work commitment and job involvement.     Relationship between organizational intelligence and performance indicators of teaching hospitals: a case study in Iran

    Background: One of the greatest managerial challenges is how to generate  intelligent organizations that can quickly adopt themselves according to environmental changes to guarantee their success and survival in a turbulent external environment.Objectives: Study objective was to assess the relationship between organizational intelligence and performance indicators of teaching hospitals affiliated by Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences (YUMS) in 2015.Design: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional study conducted in three teaching hospitals affiliated by YUMS in 2015. Data were collected using a standard questionnaire developed by Albrecht and analyzed by SPSS 16 using descriptive and correlation statistical tests.Setting of the study: Hospitals affiliated by Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in Yazd, Iran.Subjects/ participants: A sample of 300 personnel working in under study hospitals who’ve been selected through stratified random sampling method.Results: Results confirmed that scores of organizational intelligence in understudy hospitals were in the optimum status. Conditions of three performance indicators including average length of stay, bed turnover and bed occupancy rate were analyzed to be appropriate. A significant statistical correlation between organizational intelligence and bed occupancy rate, total number of admitted and discharged patients and finally number of patients’ death was seen (p<0.05).Conclusion: Having an appropriate plan or decision strategies to strengthen organizational intelligence can play an effective role in hospital performance improvement

    Investigating medical tourism development indicators in Yazd Reproductive Sciences Institute: A cross-sectional study

    Background: Paying special attention to the development indicators of medical tourism (MT) can lead to the further development of this industry and tourists’ satisfaction. Objective: This study aimed to investigate MT development indicators in Yazd Reproductive Sciences Research Institute, Yazd, Iran in 2021. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 430 medical tourists referred to the Yazd Reproductive Sciences Institute, Yazd, Iran in 2021 were studied. A researcher-made questionnaire with 46 questions and 10 dimensions was used in both internal and external environments to collect data. The Spearman correlation coefficient was also used to assess the correlation between the quantitative factors. Results: The reliability and validity of the scale were confirmed. The mean ± SD of the advertising and marketing index scored was lower than the other internal environmental indices (15.05 ± 2.16). Also, the economic factors and tourism infrastructure were lower than the other external environmental factors (9.8 ± 1.99, 8.53 ± 2.11, respectively). Conclusion: Given the importance of MT, top managers and relevant authorities should pay close attention to the criteria of advertising, marketing, and tourism infrastructure. MT demand can be improved by increasing the importance of advertising, implementing realistic advertising strategies, and developing adequate urban infrastructure and services.     Situation of Organizational Culture and its Relationship with Organizational Commitment and Entrepreneurial Potential in Selected Hospitals of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 2015-2016

    Background: The operation of an organization can be improved by organizational culture and commitment. Further, culture is one of the most basic tools for development of entrepreneurial. This study was aimed to examine the relationship between organizational culture, organizational commitment, and also organizational culture with organizational entrepreneurship from the viewpoints of hospital employees of selected Shiraz University of Medical Science. Methods: This applied and analytical study was carried out with participation of 150 employees of medical staff and administrative staff from 2 hospitals selected in Shiraz in 2015-2016. The required data were gathered using 3 valid questionnaires; Denison organizational culture (2000), Margarate Hill organizational entrepreneurship (2003), and Allen and Meyer organizational commitment (1991). Data were then analyzed thorough statistical software of Lizrel 8.5 and SPSS 16 by using structural equation modeling. Results: Our results showed a positive significant relationship between organizational culture and organizational commitment in addition to organizational culture and organizational entrepreneurship. With improving the organizational culture, entrepreneurship and organizational commitment have significantly increased. However, the effect of organizational culture on commitment was greater than the effect of this factor on entrepreneurship. Mean and Standard Deviation of culture, commitment, and organizational entrepreneurship were 3/38 ± 0/62, 3/28 ± 0/56, and 3/26 ± 0/57, respectively. Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that implementation of appropriate strategies for improving the organizational culture can increase staffs' commitment and participation in entrepreneurship

    The Relationship between Nurses\' Five Personality Traits and Organizational knowledge with their Job Performance in 2016 Case Study: A Trauma Hospital

    Background: In today competitive world, human work force has always been a concern for organizations, especially healthcare providers, and organizations are always looking for improving their employees' job performance. Among various factors affecting job performance are two factors of organization and personality traits of the workforce. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between five personality traits of nurses and the organization knowledge of their job performance.  Methods: This is an analytical study conducted in a cross sectional way in 2016. Sixty one nurses working in a traumatic hospital proportional to different wards were selected and entered the research. The instruments for collecting data were three organizational knowledge questionnaires (35 items), five personality traits (60 items), and job performance (15 items). Data were analyzed using SPSS20 and descriptive statistics and artificial neural networks.  Results: Among demographic characteristics, variables of marital status (% 16.7) and gender (% 1.5), among aspects of organizational knowledge, two dimensions of rewards (% 64.6) and leadership (% 4.3) and among aspects of Five-personality traits, accountability (% 100) and flexibility (% 11.3) had the highest and lowest importance coefficient respectively. Conclusion: rewarding and accountability can improve nurses' job performance. Therefore, hospital managers can help to improve their nursing performance by using appropriate rewarding mechanisms, reinforcing staff accountability and employing responsible personnel

    Quality Assessment by Using Categorical Based Evaluation Technique: A Cross-Sectional study in a hospital

    Introduction: The process of the measuring quality needs an efficient instrument for recognizing and prioritizing criterions of a systematic process for measuring quality improvement. Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation Technique maybe can help researchers in complex process of measuring quality. Methods: This is a cross-section study that has three main steps. First step was mining the indicators of the quality assessment by using a Comprehensive review and survey of experts; The second step was prioritization of these indicators by MACBETH Method; and at the last step selected Hospital inpatient wards were ranked in terms of quality of services using MACBETH by a sample consist of 300 of inpatients. Results: Eight main domains (Responsiveness, Safety and risk management, Tangibles, attention to patient, Health communications, Competency and professionalism, accessibility, Credit and assurance) were selected for quality assessment. Among these indicators, competency had the highest priority and accessibility had the lowest priority. Also the department of urology had the lowest quality. Conclusion: Using suitable assessment techniques those can assessing differences in the quality of hospitals and hospital wards’ services and compromising them and within denotation of strength and weakness of these hospitals and wards in dimensions also help them to improve their services, is a fundamental need for quality assessment units
