Thermodynamic features of the 1D dilute Ising model in the external magnetic field
We consider the effects of the magnetic field on the frustrated phase states of the dilute Ising chain, especially, the behavior of the magnetic entropy change and the isentropic dependence of the temperature on the magnetic field, which are the key parameters of the magnetocaloric effect. The found temperature dependences of entropy demonstrate the nonequivalence of frustrated phases in the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic cases. In the antiferromagnetic case, the nonzero magnetic field at certain parameters causes a charge ordering for nonmagnetic impurities at a half-filling, while in the ferromagnetic case, the magnetic field reduces the frustration of the ground state only partially. It is also shown, that impurities radically change the magnetic Grüneisen parameter in comparison with the case of a pure Ising chain. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Minobrnauka, (FEUZ-2020-0054)This work was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation , project FEUZ-2020-0054

Magnetocaloric Effect in Two-Dimensional Diluted Ising Model: Appearance of Frustrations in the Ground State
Abstract: The magnetocaloric effect in a two-dimensional Ising model is considered for different ratios between parameters of inter-site repulsion of nonmagnetic impurities and exchange coupling. Classical Monte Carlo simulations on a square lattice show that in case of weak coupling and at sufficiently high concentrations of nonmagnetic impurities the long-range ferromagnetic ordering breaks down to give isolated spin clusters in the ground state of the system. This leads to appearance of a paramagnetic response in the system at the zero temperature and nonzero entropy of the ground state. The feasibility to detect frustration of ground state using data on the magnetic entropy variation is discussed. © 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.The work was supported within the Competitiveness Enhancement Program of the Ural Federal University (Russian Federation Government Act 211, agreement no. 02.A03.21.0006), by the Ministry of Education and Science, Russian Federation (project FEUZ-2020-0054), and by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (research project no. 18-32-00837/18)
Magnetocaloric effect in the 2D dilute Ising system
We consider the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) for the 2D Ising system with a fixed concentration of non-magnetic mobile charged impurities. Pseudospin formalism and highperformance Monte Carlo simulations are used to describe the system and, in particular, to obtain the temperature dependences of the MCE parameters for our system. The effect of the impurityimpurity interaction strength on the concentration dependence of the MCE parameters is discussed, as well as the possibility of using the MCE effect to reveal a hidden frustration in the system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Minobrnauka: 2277, 5719Government Council on Grants, Russian Federation: A03.21.0006, 02.This work was supported by Program 211 of the Government of the Russian Federation (Agreement 02.A03.21.0006), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (projects nos. 2277 and 5719)
Evidence for spin-triplet superconducting correlations in metal-oxide heterostructures with non-collinear magnetization
Heterostructures composed of ferromagnetic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3, ferromagnetic
SrRuO3, and superconducting YBa2Cu3Ox were studied experimentally. Structures
of composition Au/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3/SrRuO3/YBa2Cu3Ox were prepared by pulsed laser
deposition, and their high quality was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and
reflectometry. A non-collinear magnetic state of the heterostructures was
revealed by means of SQUID magnetometry and polarized neutron reflectometry. We
have further observed superconducting currents in mesa-structures fabricated by
deposition of a second superconducting Nb layer on top of the heterostructure,
followed by patterning with photolithography and ion-beam etching. Josephson
effects observed in these mesa-structures can be explained by the penetration
of a triplet component of the superconducting order parameter into the magnetic
layers.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure

Coupling of the lattice and superlattice deformations and hysteresis in thermal expansion for the quasi one-dimensional conductor TaS
An original interferometer-based setup for measurements of length of
needle-like samples is developed, and thermal expansion of o-TaS crystals
is studied. Below the Peierls transition the temperature hysteresis of length
is observed, the width of the hysteresis loop being up to . The behavior of the loop is anomalous: the length changes so
that it is in front of its equilibrium value. The hysteresis loop couples with
that of conductivity. The sign and the value of the length hysteresis are
consistent with the strain dependence of the charge-density waves (CDW) wave
vector. With lowering temperature down to 100 K the CDW elastic modulus grows
achieving a value comparable with the lattice Young modulus. Our results could
be helpful in consideration of different systems with intrinsic
superstructures.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures. Phys. Rev. Lett., accepted for publicatio
