Distance learning during COVID-19 pandemic: mobile information and communications technology overview

The research is aimed at the theoretical justification, development and experimental verification of methods of using mobile technologies for teaching students of higher education institutions in the conditions of quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the study is the adaptation of mobile ICT to distance learning during quarantine. The object of the study is the use of mobile ICT for distance learning. The subject of the study: the use of mobile ICT for distance learning during quarantine. Ukrainian and foreign research on the application of mobile ICT (Audience Response Systems; Mobile Multimedia Authoring Tools development; Mobile Learning Management Systems; Mobile Modeling and Programming Environments; Mobile Database Management Systems) for the training of higher education applicants has been analyzed. The author's method of using the mobile modeling and programming tool in the Pydroid environment is presented. A comparative assessment of the functionality of five mobile ICT distance learning systems in the conditions of COVID-19 was carried out. A survey of the importance of using mobile ICT for distance learning in quarantine conditions was developed and analyzed

ІКТ для освіти та підготовки, стійкої до катастроф

The 3L-Person 2022 workshop was held in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, on October 25, 2022. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners from different domains and regions, who are interested in exploring the opportunities and challenges of information and communication technologies (ICT) for lifelong learning and professional development. The workshop addressed various topics related to the design, development, evaluation, and application of ICT for education and training, such as personal learning environment design, advanced ICT for professional retraining and training in the workplace, blended and remote learning/teaching with emerging ICT, educational robots, databases and language technologies for open learning and research, ICT in education of a person with special needs, ICT in education safety and security, ICT-support of STEM education and professional career, and synthetic learning environment. The workshop featured 13 papers selected by a diverse and qualified program committee. The workshop also facilitated the discussion and networking among the participants, who shared their experiences and insights on the emerging trends and issues in this interdisciplinary field. This paper presents the theme, aims, topics of interest, program committee, accepted papers, and outcomes of the workshop.Семінар 3L-Person 2022 відбувся в Кривому Розі, Україна, 25 жовтня 2022 року. Семінар мав на меті створити платформу для дослідників і практиків з різних областей і регіонів, які зацікавлені у дослідженні можливостей і викликів інформації та комунікації. технології (ІКТ) для навчання впродовж життя та професійного розвитку. На семінарі розглядалися різні теми, пов’язані з проектуванням, розробкою, оцінкою та застосуванням ІКТ для освіти та навчання, наприклад, розробка персонального навчального середовища, вдосконалені ІКТ для професійної перепідготовки та навчання на робочому місці, комбіноване та дистанційне навчання/викладання з новими ІКТ, освітні роботи, бази даних та мовні технології для відкритого навчання та дослідження, ІКТ в освіті людини з особливими потребами, ІКТ у безпеці та безпеці освіти, ІКТ-підтримка STEM-освіти та професійної кар’єри, синтетичне навчальне середовище. На семінарі було представлено 13 доповідей, відібраних різноманітним та кваліфікованим програмним комітетом. Семінар також сприяв обговоренню та налагодженню контактів між учасниками, які ділилися своїм досвідом і баченнями нових тенденцій і проблем у цій міждисциплінарній галузі. Sequence Capture of Mitochondrial Genome with PCR-Generated Baits Provides New Insights into the Biogeography of the Genus Abies Mill

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), being maternally inherited in plants of the family Pinaceae, is an important source of phylogeographic information. However, its use is hindered by a low mutation rate and frequent structure rearrangements. In the present study, we tested the method of genomic libraries enrichment with mtDNA via the sequence capture method yielding mtDNA data which were further used to reconstruct the phylogenetic tree of the genus Abies. The baits for hybrid capture were obtained by long-range PCR using primers designed on the basis of the assembly of Abies sibirica Ledeb. mitochondrial genome. Mitochondrial genomes of Picea sitchensis (Bong.) Carr., Larix sibirica Ledeb., and Keteleeria davidiana (Bertrand) Beissn. were used as an outgroup. The resulting phylogenetic tree consists of two sister branches, including the Eurasian and American species, respectively, with some exceptions. The subclade of A. sachalinensis (F. Schmidt) Mast. and A. veitchii Lindl. (Japan and Sakhalin islands) occupies a basal position in the branch of American firs, probably due to the complex history of fir migrations from North America to Eurasia. The tree has high support for majority of clades. For species represented by more than one sample an intraspecific variability was found which is suitable to design mtDNA markers for phylogeographic and population studies. © 2022 by the authors.
