An Introduction to Rule-based Modeling of Immune Receptor Signaling

Cells process external and internal signals through chemical interactions. Cells that constitute the immune system (e.g., antigen presenting cell, T-cell, B-cell, mast cell) can have different functions (e.g., adaptive memory, inflammatory response) depending on the type and number of receptor molecules on the cell surface and the specific intracellular signaling pathways activated by those receptors. Explicitly modeling and simulating kinetic interactions between molecules allows us to pose questions about the dynamics of a signaling network under various conditions. However, the application of chemical kinetics to biochemical signaling systems has been limited by the complexity of the systems under consideration. Rule-based modeling (BioNetGen, Kappa, Simmune, PySB) is an approach to address this complexity. In this chapter, by application to the Fcε\varepsilonRI receptor system, we will explore the origins of complexity in macromolecular interactions, show how rule-based modeling can be used to address complexity, and demonstrate how to build a model in the BioNetGen framework. Open source BioNetGen software and documentation are available at http://bionetgen.org.Comment: 5 figure

Parametric investigation of nonlinear fluctuations in a dc glow discharge plasma

Glow discharge plasmas exhibit various types of self excited oscillations for different initial conditions like discharge voltages and filling pressures. The behavior of such oscillations associated with the anode glow have been investigated using nonlinear techniques like correlation dimension, largest Lyapunov exponent etc. It is seen that these oscillations go to an ordered state from a chaotic state with increase in input energy i.e. with discharge voltages implying occurrence of inverse bifurcations. These results are different from the other observations wherein the fluctuations have been observed to go from ordered to chaotic state.Comment: Submitted to Chao

ABSTRACT Raras Gustia Sekar Arum, 2016. The Roles of Customer Service Division to Promote Customer Satisfaction in PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta. English Diploma Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Sebelas Maret University. This final project report is written based on the job training done at the Customer Service division of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta. The objectives of this report are to describe the roles of Customer Service division in promoting the high satisfaction of the customers and to describe the customers perceptions about PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta. The data of this report were taken from observation during the job training. The roles of Customer Service division of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta are handling complaint and giving information. In the practice of those three roles, the Customer Service division of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta faced some problems. There are three problems faced by the Customer Service division. The first is Customer Service division always gets complaint from the customers about delayed shipping to destination. The solution of the problem is asking to the sender to show the registration number to detect location of the package. The second problem is the wrong of address from the sender to receiver. To handle the problem, Customer Service confirms to the Customer Service in destination of receiver and checking the package in computer server. The third one is careless in shipping process or the fault of shipper when they packaged their package. Trying to negotiate with the customers in order to respond the complaints form from PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta and attach assertion letter and receipt. Customers’ perception about PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta is avarage in quality. This is evidenced by the advantages and disadvantages felt by the informants using the service of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta. Most of them argue that they dissappointed about the delayed shipping of their packages. However, they are still using the service of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Surakarta since the price is cheap and close to their home
