Implementation of Experimental Methods to Improve the Learning Outcomes of Science Class I School Students

This study aims to describe the application of the experimental method to improve science learning outcomes for second grade elementary school students. This type of research is action research. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The results of the research show that increasing activeness and learning outcomes through the application of experimental methods to science subjects has been successful. This can be proven by the results of cycle tests showing a significant increase as evidenced by an increase in activity and student learning outcomes. The percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes based on preliminary data is in the good category with a percentage of 63.92%. First cycle of research it increased to a good category with a percentage of 73.54% and in the second cycle it became a very good category with a percentage of 80.13% which had achieved the KKM value that had been set

Influence of Early Childhood Programs Literacy Movement on Students’ Interest and Reading Ability

Minat dan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa PAUD masih tergolong sangat rendah, terutama pada keterampilan membaca permulaan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pendidikan pada program PAUD belum efektif dalam mengembangkan kompetensi dan minat siswa terhadap ilmu pengetahuan. Oleh karena itu, gerakan literasi sekolah dirasa sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan di sekolah sebagai salah satu cara dan upaya menumbuhkan minat dan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan program literasi sekolah dan dampaknya terhadap minat dan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan alat pengumpulan data berupa angket dan tes keterampilan membaca permulaan yang diberikan kepada siswa PAUD sebagai responden penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan gerakan literasi sekolah berpengaruh terhadap minat dan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa PAUD. The Importance of Principal Leadership Management in Increasing the Competence of Elementary School Teachers in Medan City, North Sumatra

To leadership to the principal of the school plays an important role in improve the competence of teachers in their schools. Efforts to increase this are carried out by making policies that are translated into programs to increase teacher competency. This study aims to describe; (1) Principal Management in Improving Teacher Competence; (2) Principal Management Success in Increasing Teacher Competence; (3) Supporting factors, inhibiting factors and solutions for Principal Management in Improving Teacher Competence at SD N Medan City, North Sumatra. This research is in the form of qualitative research, the data collection method used is observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that Principal management in improving teacher competence, namely : (1) Involving teachers in training, training and seminars, (2) Implementation of supervision (3) Prioritizing discipline, (4) Motivating teachers. Application of leadership management school principals in improving teacher competence greatly affect the competence of teachers in SD N Medan City, North Sumatra, namely that the teachers have started apply the basic competency standards regulated by the government as well as possible.
