    Get PDF
Indias nationwide survey, Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), provides basic and critical information about rural Indian childrens foundational reading skills and basic mathematical abilities. The results of such a large survey has a potential to provide a tool to build quality educational practices and policies. The acquired educational skills of child are the results of childs social, economic and educational background which can be described by facilities available at household, parental and school level. The present study uses rough set theory which provides efficient algorithms for finding hidden patterns in data using minimal sets of attributes. The rough set based rule system is developed and tested for its accuracy by using ASER data to predict childs mathematics learning ability

In chronic cervicitis, there is marked thickening of the cervical mucosa with underlying tissue oedema. These thickened tissues tend to push out through the external os along the direction of least resistance. The entity is most marked where the cervix has already been lacerated. In such conditions, the longitudinal muscle fibres are free to act unopposed. As a result, the lips of cervix curl upwards. Now a days number of females has developed cervicitis very fast and symptoms are like per vaginal white discharge with foul smell, and dyspareunia. This cervical erosion further leads to dyspareunia and then to infertility also. There is no disease given in Ayurveda classics which can directly correlate with cervical erosion. But in some aspect of symptoms and signs this can correlate with Karnini yonivyapad and hence treatment can be according to that. In this article case study of cervical erosion described which was treated with Ayurvedic Sthanik chikitsa- Yonidhavan by Triphala and Daruharidra kwath, Apamarga kshar pratisaran and Jatyadi tail pichu for 7 days for 3 conjugative cycles. With this combined therapy of Sthanik chikitsa cervical erosion has been completely cured. Hence clinical trial can be done in large number of patients to see further results

Semantic web is a platform of new evolution in rapidly developing World Wide Web. Semantic web refers to extracting knowledge from large amount of data. The purpose of this paper is to give a first-hand information and description for the semantic web technology. Although several research works have been carried out in the high semantic web technology, the semantic web is yet vastly unexplored. A semantic web technological innovation is rapidly changing traditional methods of searching data and how search engines work. Few prominent semantic web case studies are presented. One of the popular applications of XML RDF is Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed which is discussed in detail

    Immunosuppression and Viral Infections

    Get PDF
Immunosuppression is commonly used for prevention of graft rejection in solid organ transplantation (SOT) and prevention of graft versus host disease in hematopoietic allogeneic stem cell transplant (ASCT). In ASCT, immunosuppression is used to control GVHD and can be tapered off within 6–12 months after transplantation. SOT recipients require lifelong immunosuppression to prevent graft rejection, making them susceptible to serious viral infections including EBV PTLD. EBV PTLD occurs within the first 6 months following ASCT prior to effective reconstitution of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL). Our understanding on EBV-related PTLD is mostly extrapolated from SOT-associated PTLD. Features of conditioning and use of serotherapy remain important in development of EBV PTLD. Other viral infections that occur early post-transplant include CMV, HHV6, BK, and adenovirus, and usually correspond to degree of immunosuppression post-transplant. These infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. However, the current literature lacks information on outcomes of viral infections related to immunosuppression. Alternative donor ASCT are now more common, and patients are more susceptible to multiple viral infectious complications at the peak of immunosuppression and require monitoring for viral infections in these immunosuppressed patients

Information System Articulation Development - Managing Veracity Attributes and Quantifying Relationship with Readability of Textual Data

    Get PDF
Often the textual data are either disorganized or misinterpreted because of unstructured Big Data in multiple dimensions. Managing readable textual alphanumeric data and its analytics is challenging. In spatial dimensions, the facts can be ambiguous and inconsistent, posing interpretation and new knowledge discovery challenges. The information can be wordy, erratic, and noisy. The research aims to assimilate the data characteristics through Information System (IS) artefacts that are appropriate to data analytics, especially in application domains that involve big data sources. Data heterogeneity and multidimensionality can make and preclude IS-guided veracity models in the data integration process, including customer analytics services. The veracity of big data thus can impact visualization and value, including knowledge enhancement in the vast amount of textual data qualitatively. The manner the veracity features construed in each schematic, semantic and syntactic attribute dimension in several IS artefacts and relevant documents can enhance the readability of textual data robustly

Clinical and Pathological Review of Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorders

    Get PDF
Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a rare but potentially serious complication following transplantation with an overall incidence of PTLD of 1–5% in solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients and 1% in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) recipients. The clinical and pathological spectrum of PTLD is broad; however, most cases of PTLD occur within the first year after transplantation and are associated with EBV. Clinical features that independently predict rates of response and survival have not been systematically studied for PTLD. Patients whose PTLD expressed CD20 or EBV have shorter intervals to PTLD onset, whereas late-onset cases of PTLD are typically EBV negative. Phenotypic characterization of PTLD reveals potential reliance on EBV or NF-kappaB signaling instead of B-cell receptor signaling, which links PTLD to other subgroups of EBV-related lymphomas, highlighting new potential treatment approaches. PTLD can be a life-threatening post-HSCT complication due to the impact of the patient’s underlying disease (malignant or nonmalignant) as well as the type and intensity of the conditioning regimen. EBV-negative PTLD is more often a delayed phenomenon post-HSCT compared to EBV-positive PTLD. Further investigations are needed to better understand the role of EBV in the pathogenesis of different forms of PTLD in the immunosuppressed patients

PARVIMONAS MICRA AND FUSOBACTERIUM NUCLEATUM SEPTIC ARTHRITIS: A RARE ANAEROBIC DOUBLE TROUBLE

    Get PDF
Septic arthritis is a condition initiated by pathogenic inoculation of joints either by direct or hematogenous route, necessitating immediate medical attention. Among aerobic bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus spp. are commonly found in association with septic joints. Anaerobes are very rarely involved in the causation of septic arthritis with an estimated rate of <1%. We are presenting a case of septic arthritis of knee joint by Parvimonas micra and Fusobacterium nucleatum, both being constituents of microbial flora in the oral cavity and gastrointestinal tract. Gram stain and anaerobic culture incorporated along with the aerobic culture of synovial fluid have played an important role in the preliminary diagnosis of anaerobic septic arthritis in this case

    Get PDF
This paper highlights for the first time the preparation and synthesis of silver nanoparticles from the callus and in vitro derived plant roots of white flowered variety of Clitora ternatea. The efficiency of antimicrobial activity of silver nanoparticles towards the clinical samples was assessed. Our study confirmed that these silver nanoparticles were found to be highly toxic and provides once again the pharmaceutical evidence of the medicinal plant Clitoria ternatea. Therefore, the use of silver nanoparticles should emerge as one of the novel approaches in many disease therapies, and applications of plant extract silver nanoparticles should be exploited for the medical treatment
