Sexual Selection, Physical Attractiveness, and Facial Neoteny: Cross-cultural Evidence and Implications [and Comments and Reply]

Physical attractiveness and its relation to the theory of sexual selection deserve renewed attention from cultural and biological anthropologists. This paper focuses on an anomaly associated with physical attractiveness-in our species, in contrast to many others, males seem to be more concerned than females with the attractiveness of potential sexual partners, perhaps because humans show far more age-related variance in female than in male fecundity. The resulting selection for male attraction to markers of female youth may lead incidentally to attraction to females displaying age-related cues in an exaggerated form. This paper reports cross-cultural evidence that males in five populations (Brazilians, U.S. Americans, Russians, Ache, and Hiwi) show an attraction to females with neotenous facial proportions (a combination of large eyes, small noses, and full lips) even after female age is controlled for. Two further studies show that female models have neotenous cephalofacial proportions relative to U.S. undergraduates and that drawings of faces artificially transformed to make them more or less neotenous are perceived as correspondingly more or less attractive. Examina-se a concepção de universalismo ético a que Lawrence Kohlberg chegou em suas pesquisas sobre o desenvolvimento do pensamento moral, sobretudo a idéia de que esse desenvolvimento, em todos os seres humanos, culmina em uma moralidade "pós-convencional" concebida em termos de princípios de justiça. Handbuch ECVET Lehmbau. Teil II - Werkzeuge und Dokumente

Das Handbuch stellt die Ergebnisse und Produkte des europäischen Projektes Lern-Lehm vor. Auf der Grundlage des Europäischen Qualifikationsrahmens und des Europäischen Leistungspunktesystems für die Berufsbildung haben die Partner/-innen aus Bulgarien, Deutschland, Frankreich und dem Vereinigten Königreich mit ECVET Lehmbau ein System entwickelt, das den Erwerb, die Bewertung und die Übertragung von Lernergebnissen in diesem Fachgebiet ermöglicht. Lern-Lehm wurde von 2007 bis 2009 im Rahmen des Programms Leonardo da Vinci Innovationstransferprojekte von der Europäischen Kommission gefördert. ECVET Lehmbau möchte Qualifikationen im Lehmbausektor transparent und vergleichbar darstellen. Dazu wurden Lernergebnisse unabhängig vom jeweiligen Lernkontext definiert. Das ermöglicht Abschlüsse über Ländergrenzen hinweg verständlicher zu machen und fördert die grenzüberschreitende Mobilität. Das Projekt ermutigt Lernende, die alte Tradition der Handwerkswanderschaft mit den heutigen Anforderungen der Arbeitswelt zu verknüpfen und Wissen, Fertigkeiten und Kompetenzen im Lehmbau bei qualifizierten Bildungsstätten zu erwerben. Ergänzend wurden spezielle Handlungsempfehlungen für Lehrende erarbeitet, um auch für Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund die beruflichen Zukunftschancen im Lehmbau zu verbessern. Das Handbuch ECVET Lehmbau wendet sich an Bildungsverantwortliche und Lehrende im Lehmbau. Es erläutert Verfahren und Möglichkeiten, ECVET Lehmbau in der Berufsbildung anzuwenden und das lebenslange Lernen im Lehmbau zu fördern. Beschrieben werden die Regelungen zu den Prüfungen und zur Ausstellung von ECVET Lehmbau-Zertifikaten und Bescheinigungen, auf die sich die Lern-Lehm Partnerschaft geeinigt hat.
