Content Analysis of Asian National Library Websites
Libraries are slowly shifting their role from being custodians of collection-based traditional information resources to being providers of access-based digital information resources. National library being the apex body of a country’s library system really holds a vital part in the whole gamut of knowledge sharing. Library websites play an important role for this purpose. The basic purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of national library websites of Asian countries (45). An evaluation method was carried out for this study to know the how far the websites of national libraries of Asian countries had satisfied the selected parameters as instructed in the respective guidelines. According to findings, 9% of selected national library websites regardless of their characteristics had fallen in the grade of “A++”, 44% had fallen in “A” and remaining 47% had been considered in the grade of “B”

Estimation of the error matrix in a linear least square fit to the data from an experiment performed by smartphone photography
Determination of the Young modulus of a metal bar in the form of a cantilever
is an old experimental concept. However, we have taken the advantage of modern
advanced technology of smartphone camera to find the load depression graph of
the cantilever by taking photographs with the smartphone camera. Smartphone
photography allows us to find a precise transverse magnification of an object
from the size of the real image formed on the sensor of the camera. Image size
on the sensor can be obtained with micron level accuracy. From the load
depression graph, we have determined the Young modulus of the bar. The
sensitive measurements of the depression of the cantilever at its free end by
its own weight, have allowed us to determine the density of aluminium. We have
added an analysis of the chi squred minimisation technique for determining the
parameters and their uncertainities in a linear fit. Starting from the
curvature matrix we have made a comprehensive analysis of the error matrix
relevant for a two parameter linear fit. Then we have shown how to form the
error matrix for the fitted parameters which includes the covariance term
between the two correlated parameters, in the context of our specific
experiment. We have propagated the errors in the parameters to find the
uncertainties in the Young modulus and the density of the bar. We have shown
that a precise measurement is possible by smartphone photography
Exploring Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras for the Essence of Happiness: A Holistic Approach
The pursuit of happiness has become increasingly elusive in the modern world, despite advancements in technology and access to various comforts. This abstract explores the reasons behind the growing unhappiness and the teachings of Patanjali Yoga Sutra as a means to attain happiness. The current generation is burdened by busy lifestyles, excessive workloads, materialistic desires, and imbalanced life style, leading to heightened stress levels and broken relationships. The root cause of unhappiness lies in restless desires and the fear of an uncertain future. Happiness is a state of mind, and it cannot be achieved through external material possessions. Pleasure, on the other hand, is the gratification of sensual desires and provides temporary satisfaction. The practice of yoga, as described in Patanjali Yoga Sutras, offers guidelines for happiness by transforming negativity into positivity and promoting physical, mental, and spiritual development. By integrating Patanjali’s principles into daily life, an individual can experience positive transformation and attain happiness

Strand-biased gene distribution, purine assymetry and environmental factors influence protein evolution in Bacillus
AbstractA strong purine asymmetry, along with strand-biased gene distribution and the presence of PolC, prevails in Bacillus and some other members of Firmicutes, Fusobacteria and Tenericutes. The analysis of protein features in 21 Bacillus species of diverse metabolic, virulence and ecological traits revealed that purine asymmetry in conjunction with lineage/niche specific constraints significantly influences protein evolution in Bacillus. All Bacillus species, except for Se-respiring Bacillus selenitireducens, display distinct strand-specific biases in amino acid usage, which may affect the isoelectric point or surface charge distribution of proteins with prevalence of acidic and basic residues in the leading and lagging strand proteins, respectively
Acaricidal activity of nishinda (Vitex negundo) leaf and garlic (Allium sativum) bulb extract against red spider mite, Oligonychus coffeae (Acari: Tetranychidae) in tea plantations of Darjeeling hill, West Bengal, India
The red spider mite, Oligonychus coffeae (Nietner) serves as a serious threat to the Darjeeling tea plantations affecting the quality of the leaves. Various plant extracts are currently being researched as an alternative to the chemical pesticides to control the red spider mites. In the present study, the leaves of Vitex negundo L. and the bulb of Allium sativum L. were analyzed for their acaricidal activity on the larval, nymphal and adult stages of the mite. Both the extracts were found to have potent activity against red spider mites and may prove to be potential acaricides in future
