Background: The most common complication of complete or partial pneumonectomy is insufficient oxygenation due to loss of respiratory unit leading to reduced quality of life. Retinoic acid and vascular endothelial growth factors are two important signaling molecules essential during normal lung development and together they could enhance the compensatory lung growth and function following pneumonectomy. Methods: Unilateral pneumonectomy of left lung was performed in male wistar albino rats. Retinoic acid (RA) (0.5 mg/kg), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) 5µg/day and vehicle were administered intraperitoneally for 10 days. Lung weight, lung volume, arterial blood gases (ABG), protein and DNA estimations were performed on the contralateral lung. Results: Rats treated with RA alone and combination of RA and VEGF increased the weight and volume of the compensatory lung as compared to control. Protein and DNA concentrations were also increased in the contralateral lung in rats treated with RA alone and RA with VEGF as compared to control. In arterial blood gas analysis, rats treated with combination of RA and VEGF shows an increase in partial pressure of oxygen and oxygen saturation as compared to control, whereas rats treated with RA alone did not significantly improve the oxygen saturation. Conclusions: Combination of VEGF with RA had accelerated compensatory lung growth in pneumonectomized rats probably by increasing type II pneumocyte proliferation and new blood vessels formation in the lung. There is significant increase in arterial blood gases compared to retinoic acid group possibly by the formation of new blood vessels by VEGF which is essential for improving oxygenation of blood and to improve quality of life

In current circumstances, energy is considered as a critical factor for economic growth, social development and human welfare. To bridge the ever rising energy requirement, biodiesel an alternative diesel fuel derived from waste vegetable oil, animal fats or vegetable oil is becoming increasingly popular in developing countries. Amongst which the biodiesel derived from neem oil has already proved as potential alternative fuel for CI engine. However the studies which investigate performance and emission characteristics with additives need to be investigated. In the present investigation the neem oil biodiesel was prepared using acid catalyzed esterification followed by trans-esterification process. The performance and emission characteristics of a single cylinder Compression ignition engine was carried with pyrogallol concentration of 0 parts per million (ppm), 250ppm, 500ppm and 750ppm with neem oil biodiesel. The engine performance and emission tests were carried out at a rated speed of 1500 rpm under different loading conditions. An improved performance and emission characteristics of engine was found with addition of pyrogallol as additives in neem oil biodiesel

The main idea of process mining is to extract knowledge or information from event logs recorded by an information system. Till now, the information in these event logs was rarely used to analyze the underlying processes. Process mining aims at improving this by providing techniques and tools for discovering process, organizational, social, and performance information from event logs. Process mining has become a bright research area. In this paper we discuss the challenging process mining domain and demonstrate a heuristics driven process mining algorithm; the so called Heuristics Miner in detail. Heuristics Miner is a practical applicable mining algorithm that can deal with noise, and can be used to express the main behavior that is not all details and exceptions, registered in an event log. The business process system has a complex process system, which deals about many cases or audit trail entries and various event logs. This paper deals about the role of Heuristics Miner algorithm in the field of Business process system, also the Heuristics Miner algorithm is compared with the other mining algorithm such as α-algorithm. Hence, we analyzed that, is it possible to develop a control flow process mining algorithm such as Heuristics Miner algorithm can discover all the common control flow structures and is robust to noisy logs at once? This paper attempts to provide an answer to this question

This research work focuses on support towards QoS approaches over IoT using computational models based on scheduling schemes to enable service oriented systems. IoT system supports on application of day-to-day physical tasks with virtual objects which inter-connect to create opportunities for integration of world into computer-based systems. The QoS scheduling model TOPSI implements a top-down decision making process over top to bottom interconnected layers using service supportive optimization algorithms based on demandable QoS requirements and applications. TOPSI adopts Markov Decision Process (MDP) at the three layers from transport layer to application layer which identifies the QoS supportive metrics for IoT and maximizes the service quality at network layer. The connection cost over multiple sessions is stochastic in nature as service is supportive based on decision making algorithms. TOPSI uses QoS attributes adopted in traditional QoS mechanisms based on transmission of sensor data and decision making based on sensing ability. TOPSI model defines and measures the QoS metrics of IoT network using adaptive monitoring module at transport layer for the defined service in use. TOPSI shows optimized throughput for variable load in use, sessions and observed delay. TOPSI works on route identification, route binding, update and deletion process based on the validation of adaptive QoS metrics, before the optimal route selection process between source and destination. This research work discusses on the survey and analyzes the performance of TOPSI and RBL schemes. The simulation test beds and scenario mapping are carried out using Cooja network simulator

AbstractThe term big data has come into use in recent years. It is used to refer to the ever-increasing amount of data that organizations are storing, processing and analyzing. An Interesting fact with bigdata is that it differ in Volume, Variety, Velocity characteristics which makes it difficult to process using the conventional Database Management System. Hence there is a need of schema less Management Systems even this will never be complete solution to bigdata analysis since the processing has no focus on the semantic information as they consider only the structural information. Content Management System like Wikipedia stores and links huge amount of documents and files. There is lack of semantic linking and analysis in such systems even though this kind of CMS uses clusters and distributed framework for storing big data. The retrieved references for a particular article are random and enormous. In order to reduce the number of references for a selected content there is a need for semantic matching. In this paper we propose framework which make use of the distributed parallel processing capability of Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) to perform semantic analysis over the volume of documents (bigdata) to find the best matched source document from the collection source documents for the same virtual document
