Performance Analysis of Project-and-Forward Relaying in Mixed MIMO-Pinhole and Rayleigh Dual-Hop Channel

In this letter, we present an end-to-end performance analysis of dual-hop project-and-forward relaying in a realistic scenario, where the source-relay and the relay-destination links are experiencing MIMO-pinhole and Rayleigh channel conditions, respectively. We derive the probability density function of both the relay post-processing and the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratios, and the obtained expressions are used to derive the outage probability of the analyzed system as well as its end-to-end ergodic capacity in terms of generalized functions. Applying then the residue theory to Mellin-Barnes integrals, we infer the system asymptotic behavior for different channel parameters. As the bivariate Meijer-G function is involved in the analysis, we propose a new and fast MATLAB implementation enabling an automated definition of the complex integration contour. Turbo Packet Combining for Broadband Space-Time BICM Hybrid-ARQ Systems with Co-Channel Interference

In this paper, efficient turbo packet combining for single carrier (SC) broadband multiple-input--multiple-output (MIMO) hybrid--automatic repeat request (ARQ) transmission with unknown co-channel interference (CCI) is studied. We propose a new frequency domain soft minimum mean square error (MMSE)-based signal level combining technique where received signals and channel frequency responses (CFR)s corresponding to all retransmissions are used to decode the data packet. We provide a recursive implementation algorithm for the introduced scheme, and show that both its computational complexity and memory requirements are quite insensitive to the ARQ delay, i.e., maximum number of ARQ rounds. Furthermore, we analyze the asymptotic performance, and show that under a sum-rank condition on the CCI MIMO ARQ channel, the proposed packet combining scheme is not interference-limited. International audienceLocal public investment significantly contributes to the economic development of the regions, local authorities (TC) and EPCI (public body for inter-municipal cooperation); the Law No. 2013-672 of 26th of July 2013 “on the separation and regulation of banking” opened up for them the possibility of calling onto international capital markets via their Agence France locale-société financière (AFL); composed of eleven founding members (one region, 3 departments, 4 EPCI and 3 local authorities), the AFL, whose headquarters have been situated in Lyon since june 2014, currently gathers (as of 30th of october 2015) 114 community members. This new funding method seems to assign a real independence and financial autonomy regarding matters of local investment. Fan-made Football Journalism : Its Position in the Media Landscape and Its Critique of Mainstream Journalistic practices : The Case of Arseblog

With the Web 2.0 facilitating the production and dissemination of content, new actors entered the sport media landscape. A relatively new presence is the fans who made a profession out of their fandom and textual productivity, going further than blogging and turning into professional independent journalists, specialists of their favorite team. They cover and report on the object of their fandom, operate their own fan-centered digital media outlets, and produce content on a daily basis. The case study of this thesis, Arseblog—a news website and blog dedicated to the London-based football team Arsenal—is one of these hybrids merging traditional sport journalism and fan blogging, rooted in the football zine tradition. While previous studies have shown how this type of fan labor tends to be critical of the mainstream media, this thesis seeks to unravel the specific way in which it does so by looking into the Arseblog example. It also investigates how Arseblog negotiates its position as an alternative media, and what makes it stand out in the media landscape. Critical discourse analysis was applied to two Arseblog articles using Fairclough’s three-dimensional model to examine the existing power dynamics between this type of alternative media and its mainstream counterpart, as well as to shed light on its distinctive discursive features. The study concludes that Arseblog supplements and critiques mainstream media outlets’ coverage of Arsenal by its ability to step back from the immediacy of events, and act like a media observer and news stories curator. Moreover, it is able to demarcate itself from the mainstream media by allowing the fans to take center stage in their narratives, and by adopting creative ways of reporting which draw on several genres and uncommon discursive practices in football writing
