Phase diagram of softly repulsive systems: The Gaussian and inverse-power-law potentials

We redraw, using state-of-the-art methods for free-energy calculations, the phase diagrams of two reference models for the liquid state: the Gaussian and inverse-power-law repulsive potentials. Notwithstanding the different behavior of the two potentials for vanishing interparticle distances, their thermodynamic properties are similar in a range of densities and temperatures, being ruled by the competition between the body-centered-cubic (BCC) and face-centered-cubic (FCC) crystalline structures and the fluid phase. We confirm the existence of a reentrant BCC phase in the phase diagram of the Gaussian-core model, just above the triple point. We also trace the BCC-FCC coexistence line of the inverse-power-law model as a function of the power exponent nn and relate the common features in the phase diagrams of such systems to the softness degree of the interaction.Comment: 22 pages, 8 figure

Stroke is an infectious disease cause of death was not ranked top in urban areas according Depkes (2011) approximately 28.5% of stroke patients died, the rest partially paralyzed or even paralyzed and the remaining 15% can be cured. Stroke is taking place in people who are productive. This study aims to Related factor of Knowledge by Stroke in Institute of Higher Education Employees. This study was analytical research with cross sectional design. The questionnaire given to 142 respondents. Dependent variable in this study was the knowledge about stroke risk factors, the level of knowledge of the early recognition of stroke symptoms and the knowledge how to handle. The independent variables were age, gender, and education level. Data analysis using Chi Square test and Spearman test. The results showed the level of knowledge of stroke risk factors 78.9% of respondents in the level of knowledge of "good" about stroke risk factors, the level of early recognition of stroke symptoms FAST method from respondents largely in the category of "not good", and 63.4% of the respondents have know how to handle it properly. Results of the analysis showed significant relationships between the sexes is the level of knowledge of risk factors for stroke, p = 0.020 so that p < α (0,05). Furthermore the relationship between level of education and the level of early recognition of stroke symptoms, p = 0.006 to p < α (0.05) and the value obtained was 0,229 r. Conclusion of this research knowledge of risk factors was well, correct of treatment knowledge, correct medical stroke center was hospital, appropriate time window less of 3 hours and only level early recognition of stroke symptoms still not quite knew

Background Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is currently considered the minimal invasive endoscopic treatment for early gastric cancer. Most superficial gastric neoplastic lesions are depressed type ”0-IIc” (70-80%), while totally flat, classified as type ”0-IIb” early gastric cancer, is rarely reported (0.4%). The aim of the present study was to assess the efficacy of narrow band imaging (NBI) magnification endoscopy in identifying type “0-IIb” early gastric cancer and ESD treatment with curative intention. Methods Twelve of 615 (2%) patients (10 males, median 72 years), treated by ESD at our center, were diagnosed as type “0-IIb” gastric cancer. Ten had exclusively type “0-IIb”, while two had combined types “0-IIb+IIc” and “0-IIa+IIb” gastric cancer. Initial diagnosis was made during screening gastroscopy, while NBI magnification endoscopy combined with indigo-carmine chromoendoscopy were also used. Results White light endoscopy showed only superficial redness. One patient with signet-ring carcinoma showed whitish appearance. Indigo-carmine chromoendoscopy showed better visualization, while NBI magnification endoscopy revealed abnormal mucosal microsurface and microvascular findings which enabled border marking. ESD with curative intention was completed without complications. Histological examination showed complete (R0) resection, in 10 patients (83%). One patient with positive margins received additional surgery (8%). Mean procedure time was 149 (range 60-190) min. One to six years post-ESD all patients remain alive. Conclusions ESD is considered a safe and effective curative treatment for type “0-IIb” gastric cancer, resulting in long-term disease-free survival. NBI magnification endoscopy is effective for accurate optical identification and border marking of type “0-IIb” early gastric cancer

Concerns have been raised about the actual benefit and safety of molnupiravir, a new antiviral treatment for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In order to provide additional evidence to support its use, we aimed to evaluate the real safety profile based on post-marketing pharmacovigilance data. Molnupiravir safety data were captured from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS). We performed a descriptive analysis of the baseline demographic characteristics of patients who experienced at least one adverse drug reaction (ADRs) related to molnupiravir, and then evaluated those most frequently reported. As of 31 March 2022, 612 reports of ADRs related to molnupiravir were submitted to the FDA, 301 (49.18%) were related to females and 281 (45.92%) to males. Most reports (524; 85.62%) were submitted by healthcare professionals and 345 (56.37%) concerned serious outcomes. The most common reported ADRs were diarrhoea (57; 4.51%), rash (36; 2.85), nausea (29; 2.30%), and COVID-19 pneumonia (22; 1.74%). The most frequent adverse reactions reported with molnupiravir in the U.S. post-marketing experience are consistent with the safety evaluation of the antiviral medicine. Even if no evident safety concerns emerged, an unexpectedly high rate of serious adverse reactions together with a few cases of potential new adverse reactions occurred
