We present an extensive capillary hemangioma of right ear in an 11-year-old child involving external auditory canal, middle ear and mastoid. Patient was presented with chronic purulent discharge and aural mass in right ear. The Computarize tomography (CT) scan revealed enhancing soft tissue filled density in external ear, middle ear and mastoid for that modified radical mastoidectomy (MRM) was done. The histopathological report of surgical specimen confirmed the diagnosis of capillary hemangiom

The present paper aims to analyse the patterns of productivity in the information retrieval literature during the period of ten years i.e. (2009-2018). The study covers a total number of 4238 records indexed in the Scopus database. Out of a total of 4238 publications, a maximum 1915 records were contributed by two authors, followed by three authors with1176 contributions. A total of 17829 citations were recorded on 4238 publications and the maximum (29.67) annual growth was recorded in 2010 from the marked period of study. The overall relative growth was shown in fluctuating trend and lie between (0.16 to 0.83) while the doubling time was lies between (0.83 to 4.42). The average degree of authors collaborations was (0.94) recorded. The average collaboration coefficient (CC) and the collaborative index was (0.58) and (2.76) recorded respectively. Varma, V. from (International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad) was the most productive author with 45 publications; h-index 15; and a total citation 864. The maximum 2847 (67.18%) of publications in information retrieval were published in conference. In the field of computer science, the maximum 3370 publications were published. However, the maximum 177 research papers were contributed by Anna University while the maximum 15 publications were funded by the department of science and technology, Ministry of science and technology. Lecture Notes in Computer Science Including Subseries Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence and Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics was the most prolific source title with 224 publications while the most significant keyword was ‘Information Retrieval’ with 2963 publications during the period of study

Background: Obesity and underweight is a leading, preventable cause of mortality worldwide and it is one of the most serious public health problems of the 21st century. In developing countries like India, the obesity and underweight are very important risk factors for maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of maternal BMI on the pregnancy outcome and perinatal outcome. Methods: our study included 504 antenatal cases attending OPD in Sultania Zanana hospital, Bhopal, India in their first trimester in their first visit, from the period of July2014 to June 2015. BMI of the cases calculated and categorized the women in five groups as per WHO and National Institute of Health guidelines1-2 and they were followed up in their subsequent visits in relation to any pregnancy complication and perinatal outcome. Results: It was observed that majority of women 402 (79.7 %) were between the age group of 20-25 years. Mean Age - 23.33 yrs. maximum number of women i.e. 242 (48 %) were in Normal weight group with BMI between 18.5- 24.9. Obesity is associated with increased incidence of pre-eclampsia, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, induced delivery, Instrument/assisted deliveries, caesarean delivery, ICU admissions complicating maternal outcome and LGA, NICU admissions and perinatal mortality complicating perinatal outcome; while underweight women appear to have Anemia, IUGR, post-partum infections and SGA babies. Conclusions: From this tudy, we concluded that the health of women throughout their child bearing years should be addressed, to improve the pregnancy and the perinatal outcomes. Therefore, education programs, health services and nutrition consultation are recommended for women in reproductive age

Talent management refers to a strategic human resources approach that emphasizes hiring the most talented workers available that fit the culture, needs and goals of an organization. A company that has a talent management program typically views HR as a major factor in the success of the company. The Information Technology Industry in Chennai depend upon the knowledge-oriented work force. Therefore, Talent is a pre requisite for the success of the Company. The Information Technology industry need talented pool of engineers who can deliver better results and contribute towards the organizational objectives.Understanding the complexity of today’s times complemented by the embracing of start- up revolution, the following research study sought to explore and investigate the relationships of talent management practices with employee engagement

INTRODUCTION: Wart is an infection caused by human papilloma virus, which can involve both skin and mucosa. It can present with symptomatic or asymptomatic latent infection. Symptomatic lesion presents commonly as papules with verrucous surface. Treatment is mainly required for cosmetic purpose. AIM OF THE STUDY: To compare the different treatment modalities of anogenital wart among patient attending STD clinic. OBJECTIVES: 1. Comparison of the therapeutic efficacy of different treatment modalities of anogenital wart. 2. To study adverse effect and recurrence rate of treatment modalities. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Screening of HPV infection among patients who attended the Institute of venereology, RGGGH, Chennai, during the period between 2014-2017, was conducted by means of history taking and clinical examination to find out anogenital warts. Three types of treatment modalities were taken for this study. They were 20% podophyllin in 10% tincture benzoin solution, 5% imiquimod cream and liquid nitrogen. RESULTS: The distribution of response to treatment is not similar in all study groups. The distribution of treatment at the end of 3 months is almost similar in all study groups. The distribution of side effect is not similar in all study groups. The mean duration of treatment response is highest in Group-III (imiquimod) followed by Group-I (liquid nitrogen) and the lowest in Group-II (podophyllin). CONCLUSION: Among all the study groups efficacy is almost equal in Group-I and Group-II. Both had 100% complete clearance rates followed by Group-III with 85% of complete clearance rate

Cytopathological patterns of tuberculous lymphadenitis: an analysis of 126 cases in a tertiary care hospital

    Get PDF
Background: Tuberculous lymphadenitis is one of the most common causes of lymphadenopathy in developing countries. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) has important role in the diagnosis of tuberculous lymphadenitis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the cytopathological patterns of tuberculous lymphadenitis and to correlate with Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) staining. Methods: FNAC of 126 cases diagnosed as tuberculous lymphadenitis over a period of three years were reviewed. FNAC findings were categorized into three patterns: pattern A- epithelioid granuloma without caseous necrosis, pattern B- epithelioid granuloma with caseous necrosis, pattern C- caseous necrosis without epithelioid granuloma. Chi-square test was done to correlate cytopathological pattern and acid fast bacilli (AFB) positivity. Results: Tuberculous lymphadenitis was most frequent in the age group of 21-30 years (40.5%). Most common lymph node involved was cervical lymph node (82.53%). The most common pattern observed was Pattern B- Epithelioid granuloma with caseous necrosis in 53.17% cases. Overall AFB positivity was seen in 34.92% cases. Maximum AFB positivity was seen in Pattern C- Caseous necrosis without epithelioid granuloma in 81.81% cases. Serum adenosine deaminase (ADA) was elevated in 66.66% patients. Conclusions: FNAC is safe and cost effective diagnostic tool for the diagnosis of tuberculous lymphadenitis. Ziehl-Neelsen stain for Acid fast bacilli and Serum ADA can be used as an adjunctive tool for the diagnosis of tuberculous lymphadenitis
