Líderes transformacionais e transaccionais: que impacto no empenhamento organizacional?

Tendo como moldura teórica o modelo multifactorial de liderança que traça a destrinça entre líderes transformacionais e transaccionais, o presente trabalho de investigação tem como principal objectivo analisar o impacto que as dimensões que compõem as lideranças transformacionais e transaccionais exercem no empenhamento organizacional dos colaboradores. Para o efeito, foi levado a cabo um estudo comparativo junto de duas organizações, operacionalizado através de inquéritos por questionário a 289 sujeitos. Não obstante a revisão da literatura por nós efectuada indicar que são os líderes transformacionais aqueles que mais contribuem para elevar o empenhamento organizacional dos seguidores, os resultados obtidos não confirmam a hipótese de trabalho formulada. Estamos em crer que esta ambivalência de resultados se deve, primordialmente, à existência de variáveis contingenciais que poderão estar a moderar a relação estudada. Aliás, a necessidade de contextualizar a liderança transformacional e transaccional é uma das principais sugestões que indicamos para futuras investigações

Olhar os “bastidores” das organizações: Contribuições para a liderança política

Dadas as lacunas que a investigação do tema enforma, o presente trabalho de investigação propõe-se contribuir para o estudo da liderança política nas organizações, para o efeito foi construído um modelo teórico de análise integrativo que congrega um conjunto de variáveis, praticamente negligenciadas, e que dizem respeito aos antecedentes dos comportamentos políticos dos líderes (motivos de poder e maquiavelismo); aos comportamentos políticos dos líderes (suaves e duros); às implicações dos comportamentos políticos do líderes nas atitudes que os colaboradores nutrem em relação às suas organizações de pertença (satisfação, empenhamento; confiança e cinismo organizacional); postulando-se, ainda, a interferência de variáveis mediadoras (habilidade política dos líderes) e variáveis moderadoras das relações aí desenhadas (reputação pessoal do líderes e clima político); operacionalizadas por via da aplicação de inquéritos por questionário a 992 sujeitos de proveniências organizacionais diversificadas

Analyzing hate speech against women on Instagram

The popularization of digital technologies, such as social media, has driven remarkable changes in the way citizens participate in public life. On the one hand, they gave power to social actors, who began to act in a new media environment, with a considerable impact on the political and economic spheres. On the other hand, they laid the material foundations for the dissemination of hate speech against vulnerable groups and minorities. The present investigation has as its main objective to analyze the misogynistic hate narratives that are uttered in social media. For this purpose, a netnographic study was carried out, of the qualitative type, organized in three sequential moments: extraction, exploration/treatment, and content analysis of the data from the platform of the social network Instagram. The data highlighted from 74 profiles aligned with hate speech show, essentially, the presence of 40 publications, largely linked to extreme right-wing cultures with discursive and imagery manifestations of a misogynistic nature, highlighting the use of irony and the ridicule of women. The most offensive dimension of hate speech was measured in the comments of the followers of these publications, present in the form of insult and direct offense, confirming that the digital environment has aggravated hostility and online harassment against women.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Academic dishonesty: understanding how undergraduate students think and act

The purpose of this investigation is to explore and understand the justifications given by students to the existence of dishonest behavior and understanding the extent to which the justifications given might influence denouncing and cheating behavior. 1277 undergraduate students of two Portuguese Public Universities were surveyed about their own cheating behavior, their propensity to denounce and the ―neutralizing attitudes‖. As predicted, ―neutralizing attitudes‖ was negatively correlated with self cheating behavior and positively correlated with reporting. The likelihood of copying is greater when the purpose is ―helping a friend‖, ―when the courses are more difficult‖, ―to get higher marks/grades‖, and because ―peers accept and tend to see copying practices as normal‖. Results support the notion that context emerges as a very important influence in the decision to cheating. The environment-peer pressure and the normalized attitudes towards academic dishonesty are the main influences on the propensity to cheating

The job search journey of Portuguese Millennials : a qualitative exploratory study

Purpose – This study aims to research the job search journey of Portuguese Millennials. A job search journey is defined as the contact points between organisations and candidates throughout the job search process and the flow of this journey. Design/methodology/approach – Data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with 13 individuals. Findings – This paper shows that the contact points established by individuals during the first stage of their job search influence the subsequent contact points chosen to gather information about the organisation and also the journey undertaken up until the decision is made to apply for the job. Originality/value – This research intends to contribute to the existing literature in two ways: it proposes a new concept which is designated the job search journey, and it maps out the job search journey of Portuguese Millennials.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Agro-Ecological Zoning for Tall Wheatgrass (Thinopyrum Ponticum) as a Potential Energy and Forage Crop in Salt-Affected and Dry Lands of Argentina

Thinopyrum ponticum, is the most disseminated halophyte speciescultivated for forage on hydro-halomorphic soils in the world. Theobjective of the present work was to identify the geographicareas fordevelopment of tall wheatgrass on halomorphic soils in Argentina, for forageand as feedstock for bioenergy. To define the agroclimate in Argentina, we considered the thermal and hydric limits of the species in its place of originand in locations where it is successfully cultivated around the world. The maps corresponding to the bioclimatic indices were drawn using a GIS, andthe map obtained by overlaying them defined the agroclimatic suitability. Thiszoning was finally superimposed on the drylands saline and alkaline soils inthecountry, thus defining the agro-ecological suitability of Argentina forthis species under different moisture regimes: moist-subhumid,dry-subhumid, semiarid to arid climate. Jogo de lógica de Lewis Carroll

Tese de mestrado em Matemática para o Ensino, apresentada à Universidade de Lisboa, através da Faculdade de Ciências, 2008The perspective of the real world by Lewis Carroll shows his great talent, intellectual/perspicacious, in the creation of the Game of Logic, fascinates me. His own world, since his childhood, is shown in Part I. Without any references of Dyslexia, which I think he may have suffered from. His great triumph was to use this gift. He was able to use his mental ability to alter and create different perspectives. People with Dyslexia think mostly through images rather than through words, feeling in multiple dimensions with all their senses. (Therefore, for him Alice in Wonderland was easy). Using Symbolic Logic, Part II, he makes the analogy of understanding his theory as a puzzle. Beginning with definitions and classifications and showing propositions of existence and relations, as well as various investigations into the subject. Symbolic Logic is a set of mental entertainment. It is possible to have healthy satisfaction through playing games, such as Chess and Backgammon, when you win and not have anything to show for it! There is a personal satisfaction, however, it cannot be taken away and used in the real world. However, a perfect mine of health is being left unexplored. Once reached, the connection to Symbolic Logics is like a mental tool, always useful and ready to use to understand different interests in the real world. When playing the Logic Game, described in Part III, you are training your mind. You come to conclusions (or not) after analysing a syllogism. The syllogism is made up of a subject and a predicate which we analyse and rewrite as a trilateral diagram, then try to transform it into a bilateral diagram and reach a conclusion. It is then compared to one given by the syllogism and checks its truthfulness. The most valuable of all are those which can detect deceptions and destroy weak arguments which continue to appear in books, magazine and speeches. In Part IV, there is a comparison between the methods of Euler's Diagrams, Venn's Diagrams and the Lewis Carroll method. Just to demonstrate that his method is easier to understand, more intelligent, objective, efficient and practical.A percepção que Lewis Carroll tem do mundo, através do seu Jogo de Lógica, tão perspicaz, fascinou-me. Este fascínio está ligado também à admiração pelo autor que, desde criança, criou mundos muito seus, como se pode constatar na Parte I. Esta enorme capacidade de alterar e criar percepções, típicas nos disléxicos, está presente em Lewis Carroll de forma exuberante. Pensam recorrendo a imagens, mais do que em palavras, percepcionando em múltiplas dimensões, através dos sentidos (dai a sua facilidade em Alice no país das Maravilhas ). Em Lógica Simbólica, Parte II, propõe a sua teoria como um puzzle. Inicia com definições e classificações. Apresenta proposições de existência e de relação e várias investigações sobre o sujeito. A Lógica Simbólica é um conjunto de recreações mentais. Pode-se ter satisfação, a partir de jogos, como o, Gamão ou Xadrez. Quando se acaba tem-se uma vitória nada para mostrar como resultado! Não tem conclusão que possa ser o seu tesouro, guardar e ter um bom uso real lá fora. Uma vez alcançada a engrenagem da Lógica Simbólica, uma modalidade de Lewis Carroll, é como ter uma ocupação mental lúdica sempre à mão, com uso real. Ao jogar o Jogo de Lógica, descrito na Parte III, estará a treinar-se a mente. Determina-se conclusões (ou não) após a análise de um silogismo. O qual é constituído por um sujeito e um predicado, cuja análise transcrevemos para o diagrama trilateral e tenta-se transferir toda a informação para o diagrama bilateral, obtendo a conclusão. Compara-se esta com a dada no silogismo e averigua-se a veracidade. O mais valioso de tudo é poder detectar enganos, destruir argumentos fracos tão comuns em livros, jornais e discursos. Na Parte IV existe uma comparação entre os métodos dos Diagramas de Euler, Diagramas de Venn, e o Método de Lewis Carroll. A fim de demonstrar este é mais hábil, claro, objectivo, eficiente e prático

¿Qué cambios implementan los profesores de matemáticas en su práctica docente a partir de sus reflexiones sobre las diferentes reformas y propuestas curriculares?

En esta contribución presentamos resultados de dos estudios relacionadas con los posibles cambios que implementan los profesor de matemáticas en su pensamiento didáctico (en términos de Parada (2011)) a partir de sus reflexiones sobre las diferentes reformas y propuestas curriculares, mismas que “conocen” por los diferentes programas de desarrollo curricular a los que tienen acceso. En este documento reportamos reflexiones emergentes de experiencias realizadas con profesores del nivel medio superior de México (a propósito de la reforma educativa en México) y de profesores de Educación Básica Secundaria de Colombia que intentan incorporar las tecnologías digitales en sus clases. En ambos estudios se analiza cómo están reflexionando los profesores sobre las diferentes propuestas curriculares (entre ellas las que sugieren el uso de la tecnología como apoyo para la enseñanza) y cómo implementan dichas reflexiones en sus prácticas profesionales
