Between silences and whispers: the question of the access to information about the 'insane', an analysis of medical records of Jurujuba psychiatric hospital

Buscando identificar os aspectos informativas de prontuários de pacientes internados por motivações sociais no Hospital Psiquiátrico de Jurujuba em 1953 e de concepções foucaultianas sobre a construção da ‘loucura’ e do ‘louco’ na sua forte relação com modelo de sociedade, esta pesquisa indagou: se a loucura é uma construção social, que na modernidade implicou em segregação, qual a função do documento médico nesse processo? Espera-se que apresentem um conteúdo informativo sobre as doenças (viés informativo). Mas os prontuários daquela instituição não apresentaram-se informativos sobre a loucura. O conflito entre um esperado viés informativo do documento e os nossos resultados levou a proposta de que faz-se necessário um exame mais holístico do valor político e social do documento médico. Propõe-se um exame mais ampliado do documento, enquanto materialidade recortada de determinado acontecimento, com função de modelação e controle, dentro de um dispositivo maior de verdade: o conhecimento e as instituições médico-científicas. O acesso à informação sobre os pacientes, se consequência de um processo de organização eficaz de conjuntos documentais em arquivos médicos, inicia-se pela escrita sobre o paciente que age como sentença (interne-se ou dê-se alta), mas há um silêncio sobre as práticas médicas de tratamento, pelo menos no período e na instituição investigada, que torna o sujeito internado objeto de práticas indescritíveis. Ao final da pesquisa conclui-se que aqueles documentos sobre o louco têm, pelo menos, três vieses passíveis de análise: o da autoria da escrita; o do objeto da escrita, e o viés institucional, ou sobre como o documento institui em alguns casos, na nossa sociedade, relações de poder. Um quarto viés que atravessa todos os outros, o do regime burocrático no qual estamos inseridos e que, por algum motivo, precisa passar pelo caminho do documento para cristalizar o seu poder.Looking for to identify the informative aspects of medical records of patients admitted for social motivations in the Psychiatric Hospital of Jurujuba in 1953 and Foucault's ideas about the construction of 'insanity' and 'insane' in its strong relationship with model of society, the research asked: if insanity is a social construction, which in modern times resulted in segregation, which the function of the medical document in this process? It’s expected these documents present an informational content about insanity diseases (information bias). But the records of that institution did not show up information about it. The conflict between an expected bias informative document and our results led to the proposal that a more holistic examination of the political and social value of medical document. It is proposed a broader examination of the document, while materiality originated from a particular event, functioning to modeling and control within a larger device truth: the knowledge and medical and scientific institutions. If the access to information about patients is a result of an effective process of organizing documentary sets in medical files, it starts for the writings on the patient who acts as a sentence (if interne-or give up high), but there is silence about medical treatment practices, at least in the period and investigated institution, which makes the hospitalized person an object of unspeakable practices. At the end of the study it was concluded that those documents on the insane have at least three biases analyzable: the writing authorship; the object of this write; and the institutional bias, or how the document establishing in some cases, in our society, power relations. A fourth bias that runs through all the others, the bureaucratic regime in which we operate and that, for some reason, need to go through the document path to crystallize their power

O que é neodocumentação?: acompanhando a formação da rede, dos discursos e das agências a partir das obras de Niels Lund, Michael Buckland, Ronald Day e Bernd Frohmann

A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo compreender os conceitos de documento e documentação e a trajetória do movimento chamado de neodocumentação a partir da produção em língua anglófona de Michael Buckland, Niels Lund, Ronald Day e Bernd Frohmann. Como método de trabalho utilizamos a produção científica destes autores. Traçando as agências que se formavam, os comentários que faziam e os enunciados que escreviam, de modo a privilegiar as múltiplas abordagens utilizadas pelos autores na construção de um artigo, livro ou uma apresentação, recorrendo tanto aos capítulos e seções de seus trabalhos, quanto às notas de rodapé, de agradecimentos, referências etc. Através do exame de todas estas partes de suas obras, identificamos três grandes temas que se ligam aos tópicos abordados: a) a forma de construção da rede da neodocumentação; b) os conceitos, práticas e contextos que os fizeram migrar para uma nova abordagem conceitual, cuja ênfase concentra-se na crítica à informação e no impacto das novas tecnologias de comunicação sobre as formas de vida e socialização; c) a formação de uma agenda própria da neodocumentação, principalmente impulsionada pela dúvida: “o que é um documento?”. O processo de análise, construído na interlocução com suas produções, permitiu-nos conhecer o trajeto teórico e epistemológico delineado pelos autores e algumas de suas respostas sobre a questão do documento, categorizadas como sendo de dois tipos: 1. abordagem binária à questão, o que ser pode ser um documento ou não ser um documento a partir da compreensão das redes às quais um determinado objeto ou coisa se liga (a ênfase está sobre o que um documento representa.); 2. um caminho de resposta móvel à questão, retirando a centralidade da lógica da representação e a incidindo sobre a lógica de ação, ou seja, o que uma determinada coisa deve fazer para que seja considerada um documento? (a ênfase está sobre o que um documento faz). Os resultados desta pesquisa estão nas seções que tematizam e buscam individualizar cada um desses pontos de destaque. Concluímos a pesquisa apontando que os resultados aqui apresentados expressam que as práticas de documentação se ligam aos contextos culturais de sua produção e que devem ser validadas em múltiplos contextos, igualmente concluímos que a experiência da neodocumentação, sobretudo no que se refere à formação do departamento de estudos da documentação de Tromsø, Noruega (conhecido como Dokvit), permite fazermos uma autocritica sobre como estamos estruturando nossos currículos nos departamentos de ensino, se afastados ou integrados com a sociedade, uma vez que documentos são vistos como formas culturais de expressão e agência. Nesse sentido, acreditamos que o acompanhamento da formação da neodocumentação nos permitem avaliar nossos próprios métodos de construção das bibliotecas e da biblioteconomia no Brasil.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorThe present research aims to understand the concepts of document and documentation and the trajectory of the movement called neodocumentation from the intellectual productions published in English by Michael Buckland, Niels Lund, Ronald Day and Bernd Frohmann. As a research methodology, we analyzed the scientific production of these authors, tracing the agencies that were formed, the comments they made and the statements they wrote, in order to privilege the multiple approaches used by the authors in the construction of an article, book or a presentation, using both chapters and sections of their works, as well as footnotes, acknowledgments, references, etc. Through the examination of all these parts of his works, we identified three major themes that are linked to the topics covered: a) the way of building the neodocumentation network; b) the concepts, practices and contexts that made them migrate to a new conceptual approach, whose emphasis is focused on the critique of information and the impact of new communication technologies on ways of life and socialization; c) the formation of an agenda for neodocumentation, mainly driven by the question: “what is a document?” The process of analysis of the production of these authors, with the main objective of building a dialogue between their productions, allowed us to better understand the theoretical-epistemological path outlined by the authors and some of their answers on the question of the document, categorized as being of two types: 1. binary approach to the question, in which one can be a document or not be a document based on the understanding the networks to which a particular object or thing connects (the emphasis is on what a document represents.); 2. a mobile answer path to the question, removing the centrality of the logic of representation and focusing it on the logic of action, that is, what must a certain thing do to be considered a document? (emphasis is on what a document does). The results of this research were expressed during the sections that thematize and seek to individualize each of these highlights. We conclude the research by pointing out that the results presented here express that documentation practices are linked to the cultural contexts of their production and that they must be validated in multiple contexts. Dokvit, allow greater integration with society and the community, since documents are seen as cultural forms of expression and agency. In this sense, we believe that monitoring the formation of neodocumentation allows us to evaluate our own methods of building libraries and librarianship in Brazil.280 f

A construção da segregação (ou como o documento inscreve quem é (a)normal)

Enfoca a formação de determinada figura - ou sujeito, em vista da adesão aos enunciados sobre o indivíduo da modernidade - enquanto abjeta e preterida em detrimento à formação de um sujeito padrão. Tal análise foi feita sob a ótica da documentação. Utilizaram-se as noções de regime e de dispositivos de poder em Michel Foucault. Como objeto empírico selecionaram os prontuários médicos do ano de inauguração do Hospital Psiquiátrico de Jurujuba, 1953, localizado em Charitas, Niterói, RJ. Este relato de pesquisa buscou a ampliação do discurso sobre a documentação médica e seus usos na formação de um imaginário sobre o sujeito moderno padrão, típico burguês. Para tanto o caminho teórico-metodológico foi: o lugar do corpo na fala, algumas ideias sobre a forma de organização da sociedade e, como a escrita do outro sob a ótica do discurso médico cria discursos e verdades sobre determinados sujeitos. Contextualiza-se a Ciência da Informação como nosso lugar de fala: ou, mais precisamente, a documentação e esboça a ideia da (a)normalidade dentro de uma lógica/ ou discurso estruturalista. Os resultados empíricos tratam da exposição da documentação médica daquela instituição e, esperava- se que o próprio distanciamento histórico pudesse expor a materialidade discursiva sobre determinada práticas com base no artigo de Michel Foucault "a vida dos homens infames". Nossas conclusões se espraiam para dois sentidos, o primeiro deles refere-se à percepção de que a ideia de informatividade, que geralmente é a utilizada na formulação de importância do discurso da documentação médica, não é o suficiente para compreendê-la enquanto um fenômeno social e, assim, constituído em vista que a documentação encontrada possui muito mais silêncios do que falas. A segunda é que o Hospital Psiquiátrico de Jurujuba é uma instituição pouco estudada e que, assim, uma parte significativa de mecanismos de segregação ficaram totalmente veladas e silenciadas.Focuses on the formation of the individual - or subject, since it was accepted the statements of the subject through the lens of the modernity discourse - as abject and deprecated over the formation of a standard subject. Such analysis was made from the perspective of documentation. It was used notions of "Regime" and "Power Devices" in Michel Foucault. As empirical object it was selected medical records of the foundation year of the 'Hospital Psiquiátrico de Jurujuba', 1953, located in Charitas, Niteroi, RJ. This research report sought the expansion of discourse on medical documentation and their use in the formation and build of an imaginary of the modern standard subject , typical bourgeois. To achieve this, the theoretical and methodological way was: the place of the body in speech, some ideas about the form of organization of society and, the writing of the other, looking from the perspective of medical discourse. Contextualizes the information science as our place of speech: or, more precisely, documentation and outlines the idea of the (ab)normal within a structuralist perspective, or structuralist discourse. The empirical results deals with the exposure of the medical documentation produced in that institution and, it was hoped that the historical distance could expose the discursive materiality of certain practices based on Michel Foucault's article "La Vie des homme infames". Our conclusions overflows for two-way, the first one refers to the perception that the idea of informativeness, which is usually used in the formulation of importance of medical documentation speech, is not enough to understand it as a social phenomenon, since that the documentation we saw has more silences than words. The second is that the 'Hospital Psiquiátrico de Jurujuba' is an institution barely studied and thus a significant portion of segregation mechanisms were completely veiled and silenced.105f

Arquivologia e Biblioteconomia: Diferenças na atuação profissional e no tratamento de seus objetos

O artigo busca introduzir algumas diferenças conceituais entre a biblioteconomia e a arquivologia. Para avançar a discussão, apresenta os objetos científicos de ambas as ciências e as diferenças na prática profissional de arquivistas e bibliotecários. Para o estabelecimento do recorte, consideraram-se, além do objeto científico e da atuação profissional, o significado de usuário e de acesso e as diferenças destes em ambos os saberes. Como resultado apresenta um quadro comparativo entre os elementos-chave analisados e conclui que, apesar das convergências entre as áreas, as diferenças são marcadas por práticas profissionais com demandas e universos ainda distintos
