Natural plant resources in anti-cancer therapy-A review
Cancer is one of the most common devastating disease affecting millions of people peryear. Cancer has been estimated as the second leading cause of death in humans. So therehas been an intense search on various biological sources to develop a novel anti-cancer drugto combat this disease. Plants have proved to be an important natural source of anti-cancertherapy for several years. About 30 plant derived compounds have been isolated so far andare currently under clinical trials. These anti-cancer compounds have been found to beclinically active against various types of cancer cells. Further research in this area may leadto better treatment of cancer
Synthesis and molecular docking studies of coumarin-imidazole conjugates as potential antimicrobial agents
110-125One-pot multi-component synthesis of tri and tetra-substituted coumarin-imidazole conjugates have been achieved in good to excellent yield under conventional and microwave methods in optimized catalyst condition. Further, they have been evaluated for antimicrobial activity against Gram positive Bacillus flexus and Gram negative Pseudomonas Spp. bacterial strains and two strains of fungi Scopulariopsis spp. and Aspergillus tereus organisms. The results of microbial activity are promising against tested organisms. The molecular docking study has been performed for all the compounds and docking scores are excellent. Synthesized compounds have been characterized by IR, NMR, mass and a few of them by single crystal X-ray analysis
Synthesis, in vitro biological evaluation and molecular docking study of coumarin-1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives as potent anti-inflammatory agents
418-432The green chemistry approach provides for the synthesis of coumarin-1,4-dihydropyridine scaffolds 6a-o via sequential multicomponent reaction using catalytic amount of triethylamine (TEA). These new coumarin scaffolds have been successfully explored for the effective inflammatory as well as microbial infection inhibitors. The antimicrobial activity results of the title compounds have shown potent activity against both gram positive and gram negative bacterial, and fungal stains. Additionally, anti-inflammatory activity of all the compounds has been found to be quite promising in comparison with standard Diclofenac sodium. Furthermore, the in silico docking study has been performed for all the compounds with S. aureus DNA gyrase and cyclooxygenase-2 (PDB ID 4PH9). The computational results are in good agreement with the in vitro antibacterial and anti-inflammatory experimental results

In vitro evaluation of antioxidant and free radical scavenging activities of Naringi crenulata
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity of Naringi crenulata leaf extracts. Antioxidant potentials of the leaf extract in methanol were studied in in vitro. The methanolic extract of the leaves (LME) were subjected to assess their antioxidant potential activities using systems such as Ferric thiocyanate (FTC) and Thiobarbutric acid (TBA) test. Ferric thiocyanate (FTC) exhibit high resistance of lipid or lipid emulsions to oxidation in the presence of antioxidant being tested, were determined in the absorbance of red colour were measured at 500 nm. Thiobarbituric acid (TBA) has been used to screen the relative radical scavenging abilities of flavonoids and phenols present in the leaves of Naringi crenulata were .measured at 532 nm showing, the peroxides are decomposed at lower molecular weight. Results of the study suggest that the leaves of Naringi crenulata possess significant antioxidant activity. Owing to these properties, this plant has the potential as natural source of antioxidants, capable of protecting against free radical mediated damage and may have applications in preventing and curing various diseases
Prevalence of preschooler behavioural problems
Healthy behavior makes perfect human and makes the country to be healthy and wealthy. Unhealthy behavior pattern is common among children because of lack of understanding due to age factor and poor parenting, environmental influences and so on. This present study was a focus on the assessment of behavioral problems of preschooler among mothers who were attending the pediatric outpatient department. Quantitative approach with descriptive research design was adopted and study sample was chosen by purposive sampling technique. The data was collected from 60 mothers by a standard checklist. The collected data were analyzed by a descriptive statistical method. The results show that Preschooler had the higher frustration level, it shows female children comparatively had a higher level of frustration (64%) than the male children (62%). Male children had a high level of shyness (58.73%), guilt and shame (45.23%) when compared to female children (36.33%& 39.80% respectively). Female children had a higher fear level (62.2%) compared to male children (60%). Compared to female children male children had a high score in the area of inhibitory control (58.7%) and low-intensity pleasure (63.8%). The preschool children have some range of behavioral problems like anger and frustration, shyness, guilt and shame, fear inhibitory control, low-intensity pleasure
Effects of Base for the Efficient Synthesis of 4-Formylcoumarins and 4-Formylcarbostyrils

The first efficient transformation of 4-bromomethylcoumarins and 4-bromomethylcarbostyrils to 4-formylcoumarins and 4-formylcarbostyril under aqueous conditions has been achieved by modifying the Kornblum method, resulting in excellent yield. The experimental method is very simple and economical; no further purification is required and the experimental conditions have been optimized. All the isolated compounds were characterized by infrared, NMR, and mass spectroscopy, and some of the compounds have been analyzed by single-crystal x-ray analysis.
</div
Highly stereoselective direct aldol reaction of 4-formylcoumarins with acetone catalyzed by L-proline in water–acetone mixtures

Organocatalyzed direct intermolecular aldol reactions have been developed for substituted 4-formylcoumarins with acetone in water using L-proline and phthalimido-prolinamide catalysts without use of additives. Stereoselective products obtained were in excellent yields (up to 97%) with high purity (up to 99%) and enatioselectivities (up to 95%). The isolated compounds were confirmed by infrared, NMR, high-performance liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry and some of them by single-crystal x-ray crystallography.</p
