Growth of tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) juvenile from wild and hatchery at different type of feeds
This study aimed to observe the influence of two sources of juvenile tiger grouper Epinephelus fuscoguttatus (Forsskål, 1775) from the sea and the hatchery by several types of food (pellets, tilapia anchovies). Growing Studies were carried out above 9600 juvenile tiger grouper from two sources namely differing from the sea of 4800 juvenile and 4800 juvenile hatchery from hatching. The design of treament were done by 2x3 with four replications. During the 30 day rearing period, each 5 days is taken sampling total body length (cm) juvenile tiger grouper. The results showed that during the rearing period the value of marine juvenile grouper only high growth in juvenile ate anchovies and tilapia except on day 5 and 30, and could not adapt to the food from the pellet. While in hatchery juvenile tiger grouper had high growth to consume pellets only and could not adapt well to the food of tilapia and except anchovies on day 15th
Literature instructions in secondary schools: a case study
Literature component has been made clear by the Ministry of Education (2012) in Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 to promote active learning and enhance learning. However, some studies show that learners might not be interested in literature lessons in schools for many different reasons. Their reactions and responses during the literature lessons show their lack of interest. This research was undertaken to investigate learners’ reactions during literature lessons. This qualitative case study was carried out on two mixed ability classes, consisting of 53 high school learners from two schools in Johor Bahru district and four English teachers. Lessons were observed and videotaped, and the participant-teachers were interviewed and audiotaped to seek responses on their learners’ reactions and responses during lessons. This research provides new insights on how learners perceive literature lessons in schools which promotes language learning
Draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus rhamnosus CLS17
The human gut microbiome is an organ that provides primary
barrier protection against foreign agents. Most of the microorganisms
are different strains of commensal bacteria that are colonized in the gut. Gut flora influence food metabolism and have an antagonistic effect on different pathogens and immunomodulatory properties (1). One of the main species of gut flora is
in the genus Lactobacillus...This work was supported by grant 0113PK00783 from the Ministry of

Bis(acetylacetonato-κ2 O,O′)(2-amino-1-methyl-1H-benzimidazole-κN 3)oxidovanadium(IV)
The title mixed-ligand oxidovanadium(IV) compound, [VO(C5H7O2)2(C8H9N3)], contains a VIV atom in a distorted octahedral coordination, which is typical for such complexes. The vanadyl group and the N-heterocyclic ligand are cis to each other. The coordination bond is located at the endocyclic N atom of the benzimidazole ligand. Intramolecular hydrogen bonds between the exo-NH2 group H atoms and acetylacetonate O atoms stabilize the crystal structure
Characteristics of calcined palm oil pastes for biosilica extraction as a function of calcination temperatures
Palm oil production in Malaysia has increased over the years. As the consequence of high production of palm oil, surplus quantities of palm oil biomass wastes such as empty fruit bunches (EFB), palm kernel shell (PKS), and oil palm decanter cake (DC) are generated. Generally, these wastes are used as fuel to generate steam for boilers, which end up as ash. As several agricultural wastes are well-known to be rich in silica content, this study aims to investigate the bio-silica content of EFB, PKS and DC and their characteristics when calcined at various calcination temperatures from 400°C to 800°C. Several analyses were conducted such as weight loss, color, BET, SEM and FTIR. The results have shown that all samples favorably exhibited silica at higher temperatures, i.e., 800°C. Color analysis depicted that combustible elements were mostly removed at 800°C, leaving non-combusted silica in the waste ash. Weight loss analysis presented that EFB achieved the highest weight loss at 99.05%, followed by PKS at 95.65% and DC at 83.95%. This led to a relatively high amount or purity of silica in the sample. BET analysis showed highest surface area, 20.087m2/g (PKS) and the lowest is 9.492m2/g (DC) at 800°C which verified the high porosity of samples for further absorption applications. The presence of silica was also significantly observed in 800°C FTIR spectra for all waste samples. Overall, it is concluded that EFB, PKS, and DC are highly potential wastes to contribute to the production of bio-silica, which thus can be an option to overcome waste disposal issues in palm oil industries
EFFECTIVENESS OF FOOD WASTE BIO-COMPOSTED FERTILIZERS ON PLANTATIONS
This research studied the production of organic fertilizer from food wastes through composting in view of its easy availability in Malaysia. In methodology, food wastes such as banana peels, Chinese kale and eggshells in different
proportions will be stacked up layer by layer in a compost bin prepared with the inclusion of bulking agents such as dry leaves and soil to produce matured compost to supply useful microorganisms to the decomposition process. Results
from the application of the biofertilizers produced on the growth of water spinach and green onion plants had revealed the potential of banana peels in supporting the growth of the plants, while for the ones produced from the combinations of eggshells and Chinese kale, nitrogen loss could be observed, thereby suppressing their growth and resulting in a much slower growth rate. Meanwhile, from the
statistical analysis conducted, the findings obtained were proven to be significant, indicating the positive influence of fertilizers type on the growth of plants. Hence,
it could be concluded that this research would certainly provide an insight to the potential management of organic waste in our country by converting organic wastes from food into biofertilizer
Temperature Effect on Structural and Optical Characteristics of Solution-processed Polytriarylamine (PTAA) Thin Films for Optoelectronic Applications
Polytriarylamine (PTAA) is a promising yet trending organic semiconductor material in which has unique characteristics that are low-cost fabrication, flexible and stable in room condition. The unique characteristic of PTAA thin films have attracted researchers to explore more on its ability as future green technology solutions. In this works, the effect of annealing temperature towards PTAA thin films are focused. PTAA thin films is fabricated by solution processed technique and sintered onto the glass substrate by spin coating method. The spin coating speed are 1000 RPM to 5000 RPM. The PTAA thin films are further annealed for an hour with temperatures of 80 oC, 120 oC and 150 oC. It is shown that grain size of thin films are increasing as the temperature increased based on XRD analysis. As for 1000 to 5000 RPM, the highest grain size obtain are 26.46 nm, 31.34 nm, 37.19 nm, 39.96 nm and 42.72 nm, respectively. Optical characteristic also reveals that band gap energy value is perpendicular to the increasing in temperature obtain from the UV-Vis spectrum. The results strongly show that annealing temperature had significantly affected both structural and optical properties of PTAA thin films
