Historians writing about the History of Venice have rarely dealt with or mentioned the year 1868: to trace this moment it is essential to make direct reference to the Gazzetta di Venezia of that same year. Another useful source is the diary of Elena Pesaro Maurogonato (1853-1876), daughter of Isacco Pesaro Maurogonato (1817-1892), a central figure in the Venetian Jewish community and an important political figure. Among the most important events are the celebrations in St. Mark's Square on the occasion of the Carnival, the representations at the Teatro La Fenice and events related to the translation of Daniele Manin's ashes. This essay also traces a portrait of the social situation in Venice, ranging from the identification of differences between social classes to the creation of the 'myth of Venice', a collective cultural identity resulting from the association of several popular traditions

In 2006, the Argentine Neurological Society Research Group on Behavioral Neurology and Cognitive Neurosciences published the first Clinical Practice Guideline on Alzheimer's Disease to be consulted in Argentina and eventually in other countries in Latin America. The present Guideline is a review of the state of the art concerning the 2010 knowledge on the management of this disease. It provides physicians with the usual standards provided by evidence based medicine in order to reach the most adequate diagnostic and therapeutic measures at hand in our countries.Fil: Allegri, Ricardo Francisco. L'informatica e i servizi al pubblico

Abstract of the presentation held at XIV Archives International Conference: "New millennium archives in Information Society", (Los Archivos del Nuevo Milenio en la Sociedad de la Informacion), Seville, 21-26 September 2000. The full-text is available at: http://archivi.beniculturali.it/divisione_II/eventi.htm The report presented in Seville didn't mean to illustrate a detailed analysis of an event having clearly a wider dimension. The aim was rather to propose - for a wide analysis - some observations derived from experiences in front-office services, with examples taken from the Italian context. In these years, also the Italian archivists community - as it has been happening in other countries for some years already - is speding energies and intelligence in reusing and returning preexisting tools, and in designing new ones, suitable for the needs of the different users' type. Thanks - above all - to the discussion about international standards and the different experiences made both at national and local levels, a deeper reflection is beginning about the ways of the relationship with front-office services and about the urgency of implementing suitable answers

ENGLISH: The Segretario alle voci is still an ill-defined figure in the general horizon of research on the constitution of the Venetian Republic during the Renaissance. This essay contains the first fruits of research still in progress. It offers information on the historical and archival context of the sources used to create two important prosopographical databases concerning public office held by members of the patriciate: the more recent “Rulers of Venice 1332-1524”, launched by Benjamin Kohl, and the pioneering project entitled “Segretario alle voci”, concerned with the sixteenth century and carried out within the Venetian State Archive from 1980 onwards

Ordering the archive in early modern Venice (1400-1650)

The Republic of Venice was renowned for gathering and preserving from very early on a huge and growing archive. This article analyses the ways in which records were created, stored, and ordered for both immediate and future use. The political system of Venice, at once aristocratic and republican, had an important impact on the production and preservation of large quantities of documents in unbound filze and bound registri. In turn, the volume of this paperwork required the development of strict criteria for the organization of the material. In particular, this article analyses how records were divided at the moment of production, thus enabling a pragmatic combination of chronological and thematic ordering criteria. The latter were reinforced by finding tools arranged by subject matter, in particular indexes inside each volume and more general indexes across several volumes, both known as rubriche. The article suggests that indexing must be seen as a historical process dependent on Venice’s political structures and tied to specific moments in the wider history of the Republic, respectively in the fifteenth, early sixteenth, and early seventeenth centuries. Finally, the article points to some unexpected interactions between political secrecy and indexing
