    Convivencia e inclusión socioeducativa: diseño de un plan de convivencia escolar para un centro de Educación Secundaria en un barrio vulnerable

    El presente trabajo aborda la convivencia escolar como objeto de la investigación. Se profundiza sobre los factores que afectan a al clima escolar y el papel de los diferentes agentes. Se asume la aparición de conflictos como resultado natural de los encuentros entre personas y se establece la creación de espacios de tolerancia y respeto como foco de la intervención socioeducativa. En el desarrollo del trabajo se adopta un posicionamiento crítico respecto a las actuaciones punitivas, colocando la prevención en un lugar central. Para el desarrollo de la investigación, se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica de trabajos y autores y autoras relevantes y se han realizado varias entrevistas a profesionales de referencia. Este trabajo realiza una breve aportación teórica sobre el papel de las educadoras y educadores sociales en los centros escolares y ofrece un diseño de Plan de Convivencia realizado de forma colaborativa con profesorado del IES Galileo. Por ello, no es una contribución únicamente teórica, sino que la propuesta será llevada a la práctica el curso 2020-2021.The present work approaches school coexistence as the research´s object. The factors that affect the school climate and the role of the different agents are explored. The appearance of conflicts is assumed as a natural result of people´s coexistence and the focus of the socio-educational intervention is to create tolerance and respectful spaces. Along the development of this project, we adopt a critical position is regarding punitive actions, establishing prevention in a central place. For the development of the research, a bibliographic review of relevant works and authors connected with the topic, as several interviews with reference professionals have been carried out. This work makes a brief theoretical contribution on the role of social educators in schools and offers a model of Coexistence Plan carried out collaboratively with IES Galileo teachers.     ClinPrior: an algorithm for diagnosis and novel gene discovery by network-based prioritization

    BackgroundWhole-exome sequencing (WES) and whole-genome sequencing (WGS) have become indispensable tools to solve rare Mendelian genetic conditions. Nevertheless, there is still an urgent need for sensitive, fast algorithms to maximise WES/WGS diagnostic yield in rare disease patients. Most tools devoted to this aim take advantage of patient phenotype information for prioritization of genomic data, although are often limited by incomplete gene-phenotype knowledge stored in biomedical databases and a lack of proper benchmarking on real-world patient cohorts.MethodsWe developed ClinPrior, a novel method for the analysis of WES/WGS data that ranks candidate causal variants based on the patient's standardized phenotypic features (in Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO) terms). The algorithm propagates the data through an interactome network-based prioritization approach. This algorithm was thoroughly benchmarked using a synthetic patient cohort and was subsequently tested on a heterogeneous prospective, real-world series of 135 families affected by hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) and/or cerebellar ataxia (CA).ResultsClinPrior successfully identified causative variants achieving a final positive diagnostic yield of 70% in our real-world cohort. This includes 10 novel candidate genes not previously associated with disease, 7 of which were functionally validated within this project. We used the knowledge generated by ClinPrior to create a specific interactome for HSP/CA disorders thus enabling future diagnoses as well as the discovery of novel disease genes.ConclusionsClinPrior is an algorithm that uses standardized phenotype information and interactome data to improve clinical genomic diagnosis. It helps in identifying atypical cases and efficiently predicts novel disease-causing genes. This leads to increasing diagnostic yield, shortening of the diagnostic Odysseys and advancing our understanding of human illnesses
