Employing appropriate and up to date Business models in Organizations is so important due to the fact that it is the strategy which shows the main logic of a corporation in creating values in organiza-tions. It is important to the extent that not employing an appropriate and up to date business model will prevent the organizations fulfilling their aims, even if they employ high technology or diverse resources. In fact, economical value of a technology is unknown until corporations employ an appro-priate form of business model. It can be said that, those corporations employing more appropriate business models for a technology achieve more value than the corporations discovering that technolo-gy. A good business model is the basis of each successful organization, no difference the investment is new or it's an already established one. Due to the importance of this issue, in this study, we try to identify the main reasons for not being up to date or not developing business models in organizations. We do this by reflecting upon the results of credible and up to date researches in the area of different business models and obstacles or challenges facing different organizations. In line with what was said above, we employed library research, extracting updating obstacles in business models, ques-tionnaire and field research for data collection process. Determining reliability and validity of the questionnaire, we distributed it among 198 corporations of management counseling in Tehran prov-ince. This research follows positivism paradigm and is practical, quantitative, and inductive. The results lead to the discovery of 35 cases of the main reasons of not being up to date and developed in using business models. As there was no basis for categorizing variables and formerly defined catego-ries, in order to maximize the correlation between variables and factors, calculating the factorial ratio and determining the intended factors, we employed factorial design. Using this statistical technique, the variables were categorized in 4 kinds of obstacles: strategic, information, management, and sys-tem. At the end these are ranked using fuzzy Topsis technique. The results of ranking show the im-portance order of obstacles as follows: Informational factors, Systematic factors, managerial factors & strategic factors. All people enter organizations with a formed personality and some initial experiences and values depending on the culture, which will, in turn, influence their efficiency and performance. Therefore, great attention must be paid to work values of the employees and the issues which affect them, especially in organizations that are complex in their structure and culture. Today’s dynamic environment requires organizations to be agile in their processes, with the issue being even more critical in knowledge-based organizations such as virtual universities. In this research, we identify the path through which organizations can achieve agility by means of work values. Although there are many dimensions in work values and organizational agility, using the methodology applied in this research, we omit some of these dimensions and find the best methods that will enable managers to wisely invest in the most important issues and get the best results in the path to achieve agility through work values

Challenges facing the customs organization continuously change its management system in different countries and customs managers face a large number of challenges. Globalization tendencies, in-creased technological developments, customer-orientation, decreased product life cycle, change in product nature, regionalism and competition diversity demand a new form of leadership. The manag-ers, therefore, need to be prepared for administrating changes in dynamic environments. On the other hand, the organizations should also take the necessary actions in order to change and improve the current procedures; otherwise, they will jeopardize their existence and perpetuity because today the existence of organizations is threatened more than ever before. Considering the difficulties and bot-tlenecks of strategic planning, strategic thinking is used today as an important instrument assisting managers to solve problems and promote competitiveness and dynamics. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of establishing e-customs on stretching strategic thinking. It is a survey study in terms of method where the statistical population is composed of all technical experts of IRICA in 2015, i.e. a total number of 650 cases 234 of which were selected through simple-random sampling using Krejcie and Morgan method. Data was collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. Its validity was confirmed through formal validation and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach’s alpha (0.726). All data was analyzed in SPSS 19. According to data analysis results, e-customs affects strategic thinking dimensions with a different influence on every dimension. The results showed that the impact of establishing e-customs on systems thinking, creativity, conceptual thinking, intelligent opportunism, and foresight was 15%, 17%, 17%, 13%, and 22%, respectively. Hence, it is proposed that managers pay special attention to foresight and then to creativity and conceptual thinking in or-ganizations. Cognitions Affecting Innovation Among Generation Z Entrepreneurs: The External Enablement of Digital Infrastructure

    Get PDF
Objective: The current research aimed to investigate the external enablement role of Digital Infrastructures (DI) in the interplay of entrepreneurial cognitions and innovation. Methodology: Data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) and Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) were used for analyses. This yielded a sample of 8601 Generation Z entrepreneurs operating in 25 European countries. Results: Applying hierarchical moderated regressions showed that socio-cognitive components of an entrepreneurial mindset (self-efficacy, risk propensity, opportunity identification) affect innovation among Generation Z entrepreneurs. More importantly, DI plays an external enablement role in the interplay of cognitions and innovation among Generation Z entrepreneurs. Originality/Value: We contribute to the socio-cognitive theory of entrepreneurship by integrating an external enablement perspective into the study of cognitions and entrepreneurial outcomes (here, innovation). We contribute to the digital technology perspective of entrepreneurship by connecting the conversation about the socio-cognitive perspective of entrepreneurship regarding the role of cognitions in innovation to the conversation in information systems (IS) regarding technology affordances and constraints. We extend the application of the external enabler framework to the post entry stage of entrepreneurial activity and integrate a generational perspective into it
