    Green tea and its constituents is natural beverage used worldwide especially in Asian countries and also used as natural medicine for thousands of years. The current approaches for diseases treatment based on allopathic drugs offer restricted options, adverse effect and also show alterations in biochemical and genetic pathways. Considerable achievement on green tea and its constituents has been made based on experimental studies to confirm its mechanism of action in disease modulation but the exact mechanism still under investigation. It is thought that, green tea is rich in antioxidant and shows a pivotal role in the scavenging of free radical generation and prevention of disease pathogenesis. However, further studies are needed to confirm the safe dose and the exact mechanism of action in relation to health management. In the present review, an attempt has been made to explore the role of green tea in diseases prevention and its approach on modulation of various biochemical and physiological process.Â

    Performance Study of Mobile TV over Mobile WiMAX Considering Different Modulation and Coding Techniques

    With the advent of the wide-spread use of smart phones, video streaming over mobile wireless networks has suddenly taken a huge surge in recent years. Considering its enormous potential, mobile WiMAX is emerging as a viable technology for mobile TV which is expected to become of key importance in the future of mobile indus- try. In this paper, a simulation performance study of Mobile TV over mobile WiMAX is conducted with different types of adaptive modulation and coding taking into account key system and environment parameters which include the variation in the speed of the mobile, path-loss, scheduling service classes with the fixed type of mod- ulations. Our simulation has been conducted using OPNET simulation.     Novel antibacterial activity of Terfizia claveryi aqueous extract against clinical isolates of corneal ulcer

    Terfizia claveryi was examined for in vitro antibacterial activity using the disc diffusion, well diffusion method, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). T.claveryi exhibited excellent antibacterial activity against all clinical isolates of corneal ulcer tested, especially against Pseudomonas aeruginosa which showed the maximum antibacterial activity with mean zone of inhibition 20.33 mm at concentration of 100 mg/ml. The MIC for Staphylococcus aureus ranged from 0.040-1.250 mg/ml and MBC for Escherichia coli was 75 μl/ml. In the present study, the MIC value of the active aqueous extract were lower than the MBC values suggesting that, T. claveryi aqueous extracts were bacteriostatic at lower concentration but bactericidal at higher concentration. Also, the bacterial zone of inhibition increased with the increasing concentration of T. claveryi aqueous extract. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report for the novel antibacterial activity of T.claveryi aqueous extract. This active compound may be used as alternative therapeutic drug for the control of corneal infections.     The effect of vascular endothelial growth factor in the progression of bladder cancer and diabetic retinopathy

    Abstract: Bladder cancer and diabetic retinopathy is a major public health and economical burden worldwide. Despite its high prevalence, the molecular mechanisms that induce or develop bladder carcinomas and diabetic retinopathy progression are poorly understood but it might be due to the disturbance in balance between angiogenic factors such as VEGF and antiangiogenic factors such as pigment epithelium derived growth factor. VEGF is one of the important survival factors for endothelial cells in the process of normal physiological and abnormal angiogenesis and induce the expression of antiapoptotic proteins in the endothelial cells. It is also the major initiator of angiogenesis in cancer and diabetic retinopathy, where it is up-regulated by oncogenic expression and different type of growth factors. The alteration in VEGF and VEGF receptors gene and overexpression, determines a diseases phenotype and ultimately the patient's clinical outcome. However, expressional and molecular studies were made on VEGF to understand the exact mechanism of action in the genesis and progression of bladder carcinoma and diabetic retinopathy , but still how VEGF mechanism involve in such type of disease progression are not well defined. Some other factors also play a significant role in the process of activation of VEGF pathways. Therefore, further detailed analysis via molecular and therapeutic is needed to know the exact mechanisms of VEGF in the angiogenesis pathway. The detection of these types of diseases at an early stage, predict how it will behave and act in response to treatment through regulation of VEGF pathways.     Influence of PST and PHF heating conditions on the swirl flow of Al+Mg+TiO2 ternary hybrid water-ethylene glycol based nanofluid with a rotating cone

    Swirl flow heat exchangers are commonly used in industrial processes such as power generation, chemical processing, and refrigeration. They can be used for both heating and cooling applications and can be designed to handle a wide range of fluid flow rates and temperatures. This study investigated the influence of PST (prescribed surface temperature) and PHF (prescribed heat flux) heating conditions on the swirl flow of Al+Mg+TiO2 ternary hybrid water-ethylene glycol (50/50) based nanofluid with a heated rotating cone. The governing ordinary differential equations were derived from the partial differential equations using the proper similarity transformations. The problem was solved using the Shifted Legendre Collocation Method (SLCM), which is a powerful numerical method. The results showed that the PST heating conditions had a significant impact on the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the ternary hybrid nanofluid. Under PHF heating conditions, the swirl velocity distribution was leading to a noteworthy influence. The use of the Al+Mg+TiO2 ternary hybrid water-ethylene glycol based nanofluid resulted in a significant enhancement in the convective heat transfer coefficient. The SLCM method provided accurate and efficient numerical solutions for the problem, demonstrating its suitability for simulating complex fluid flow and heat transfer problems

    Association of Angiopoietin-Like Protein-8 Gene Variant (Rs2278426 (C/T)) in a Cohort of Egyptian Patients with Metabolic Syndrome: A Case-Control Study

    Objective: This study was conducted to reveal the association of ANGPTL8 gene variant (Rs2278426 (C/T)) withmetabolic syndrome in a cohort of Egyptian patients. Materials and methods: This study is a case control study that included 150 patients with metabolic syndrome and 150 healthy control subjects. All subjects were submitted to history taking and thorough physical examination and laboratory analysis. Genomic DNA was extracted and ANGPTL8 gene SNP (rs2278426) was detected by 5’ nuclease assay. The tested genotypes included homozygous genotypes for C allele (CC), homozygous genotypes for T allele (TT) and heterozygous genotypes (CT). Results: A total of 300 subjects were included in the study; group 1 included 150 patients with metabolic syndrome. 21.3% were males and 78.7% were females, and group 2 had 150 healthy subjects. 17.3% were males, and 82.7% were females. In the current study, the metabolic syndrome group showed dysregulation of lipids and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) with a statistically significant increase in body anthropometric measures. There was no statistically significant difference in the distribution of the heterozygous genotype (C/T) relative to the wild-type genotype (C/C) in each of the two tested groups (p = 0.287 and 0.245 in the metabolic syndrome and control groups, respectively). Conclusions: There was no statistically significant difference in the genotype distribution of ANGPTL8 gene variant (Rs2278426) genotypes between the metabolic syndrome and control groups. The homozygous recessive genotype for T allele (TT) was not detected in both tested groups
