Final test in physics within FEPE for Ural energy institute second year students at Ural Federal University

This article summarizes the methodology and results of final test in physics within FEPE (competence-based approach) for Ural Energy Institute second year students at Ural Federal University. Used PMM tasks were constructed according to features of students training areas. Estimates criteria developed by the Department of Physics are given and allow students to score up FEPE results as the exam.Приводится методика и результаты итогового тестирования в рамках ФЭПО (компетентностный подход) по физике студентов второго курса УралЭНИН УрФУ. Используемые задания ПИМ сконструированы в соответствии с особенностями направлений подготовки студентов. Приведен разработанный кафедрой физики критерий оценок, позволяющий зачесть студентам результаты ФЭПО в качестве итогового экзамена по дисциплине «Физика»

Міграційне питання в політичному дискурсі сучасної України: виклики глобалізації

The problems associated with the study of the migration issue, migration policy in the modern political discourse of Ukrainian society in the context of globalization are raised in this article. It is noted that the possibility of considering migration in a political context allows us to establish the relationship of migration and political processes, their interaction. From this point of view the most important type of migration is labor migration. This is “the movement of a person associated with crossing the state border in order to perform or search for work.” Labor migration has ceased to be only a social and economic phenomenon, therefore, thorough monitoring of migration processes, their current trends and manifestations, the creation of an effective model for managing external migration flows, and response to changes should be a priority task of migration policy to satisfy the national and regional interests of modern Ukraine.У статті висвітлюються проблеми, пов’язані з вивченням міграційного питання, міграційної політики в сучасному політичному дискурсі українського суспільства в умовах глобалізації. Зазначається, що в політичному аспекті слід розглядати, насамперед, трудову міграцію, яка визначається як «переміщення особи, пов’язане з перетинанням державного кордону або меж адміністративно-територіальної одиниці з метою виконання або пошуку роботи». Зазначається, що міграція відіграє помітну роль в політичному дискурсі сучасної України, впливає на протікання політичних процесів, перестає бути суто соціально-економічним феноменом. А тому ретельне відстеження міграційних процесів, їх сучасних тенденцій та проявів, створення ефективної моделі управління міграційним рухом, регулювання зовнішньої трудової міграції, реакція на зміни з метою підпорядкування національним та регіональним інтересам стає пріоритетним завданням міграційної політики

User defined nodal displacement of numerical mesh for analysis of screw machines in FLUENT

Growing demands to reduce energy consumption are driving researchers towards in-depth analysis of positive displacement machines. Twin screw compressors are amongst the most common types of positive displacement machines. These machines have inherently complex geometry due to intricate rotor profiles used. As the details of the internal flows are difficult to obtain experimentally, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) offers a good alternative for evaluation of internal flow patterns. However, implementation of CFD is challenging due complex deforming geometries. In this paper, a customised grid generator SCORGTM developed by authors is used to generate numerical meshes for commercially available solver ANSYS FLUENT. FLUENT is an unstructured solver which offers flexibility of using both segregated and coupled solution algorithms. Segregated algorithms are generally faster which results in shorter product development time. Interface with FLUENT is implemented by performing User Defined Nodal Displacements (UDND) of grids generated by SCORG in a parallel framework. For this purpose, SCORG and UDND are coupled and extended to work with FLUENT's parallel architecture. The developed code is compiled within the solver. The oil free air screw compressor with 'N' profile rotors and 3/5 lobe combination is modelled for 8000 RPM and 6000 RPM. Finally, the predicted performance values with FLUENT are compared to previously calculated CFX predictions and experimental results. FLUENT requires shorter solution time to obtain same accuracy of CFX
