Creation of transgenic Brassica napus L. plants expressing human alpha 2b interferon gene

    No full text
Spring rapeseed transgenic lines expressing human interferon alpha 2b were created by Agrobacteriummediated transformation of aseptic plant leaf explants. The maximum antiviral activity of the leaf extracts reached 4500 IU/g fresh weight. It was determined that the antioxidant activity and the activity of an enzyme of plant antioxidant system – superoxide dismutase (SOD) – in the leaf tissues of transgenic plants increased compared to controls. There were no correlations between the interferon and antioxidant activities, as well as between SOD and interferon activities. Using the obtained transgenic rapeseed plants with high interferon and antioxidant activities as a feed additive for animals might have preventive effect on their body, increasing resistance to infections of various origins.

Simulated properties of printed antennas on silicon substrates for THz/sub-THz arrays

    No full text
Some properties of printed antennas and arrays for uncooled silicon plasmon detector arrays based on field effect transistors are shortly discussed. Antenna geometry has been optimised for maximising gain at 300 GHz. It is shown that for bow-tie antennas in the arrays in diffraction limit approximation, there are almost no cross-talks between the neighbour antennas. It is shown that the gain for one antenna is higher than that for antenna, in the array

Detection of IR and sub/THz radiation using MCT thin layer structures: design of the chip, optical elements and antenna pattern

Two-color un-cooled narrow-gap MCT (mercury-cadmium-telluride) semiconductor thin layers, grown by liquid phase epitaxy or molecular beam epitaxy methods on high resistivity CdZnTe or GaAs substrates, with bow-type antennas were considered both as sub-terahertz direct detection bolometers and 3...10-micrometer infrared photoconductors. Optical system with aspheric THz lenses were designed and manufactured. An antenna pattern of structures on the thick substrate was discussed, and sensitivity of detector in both IR and sub-THz regions was measured

Functional features of platelets in vivo in rats long-term fructose

Objective:to follow the development of increased intravascular platelet activity in rats during the experimental formation of their metabolic syndrome. Material and methods:The study included 61 male rats aged 2.5-3 months, which were obtained from completely healthy females by the first-second litter. When included in the study, the body mass of the rats reached 261.1 ±1.18 g, the circumference of their abdomen was 14.7 ± 0.26 cm. Before our study, the animals did not participate in other studies and had no pathology. By chance, all rats were divided into 2 groups: 32 rats received in unlimited quantities as a drink 10% fructose solution. This solution is derived from crystalline fructose (Novaprodukt, Russia). The remaining 29 rats formed a control group. The study was conducted for 8 weeks. Results:In the animals taken in the experiment that received the fructose solution, after 2 weeks the plasma lipid composition and peroxidation activity in it underwent a tendency to deterioration, and after 4 weeks their negative changes reached the level of confidence, then gradually deteriorated. In rats treated with a solution of fructose, after 4 weeks of the experiment their apparent imbalance of arachidonic acid metabolites was detected, reaching a maximum of 8 weeks of observation. These changes were accompanied by an increase in the plasma level of endothelin-1 and a decrease in the synthesis of nitric oxide. In experimental rats, already after 2 weeks, there was a tendency to an increase in the intravascular activity of platelets, which gradually increased during the whole observation. Within 8 weeks of experimental observation, the level of aggregates of any size freely movingthrough their vessels increased significantly, creating the danger of blockade of the microvasculature. Conclusion:Under conditions of experimental loading with fructose in rats, a rapid simultaneous violation ofbiochemical parameters and a rapid increase in the intravascular activity of platelets characteristic of the metabolicsyndrome were established. These changes should be attributed to the growth of prostacyclin and nitric oxidelevels in the blood of experimental animals against the background of the fructose load and an increase in theconcentrations of thromboxane, endothelin-1, thiobarbituric acid-active products and acylhydroperoxides

Doebner-type pyrazolopyridine carboxylic acids in an Ugi four-component reaction

Substituted 1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4- and 1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-6-carboxamides have been synthetized through a Doebner-Ugi multicomponent reaction sequence in a convergent and versatile manner using diversity generation strategies: combination of two multicomponent reactions and conditions-based divergence strategy. The target products contain as pharmacophores pyrazolopyridine and peptidomimetic moieties with four points of diversity introduced from readily available starting materials including scaffold diversity. A small focused compound library of 23 Ugi products was created and screened for antibacterial activity. © 2019 Murlykina et al
