Previous interpretation of QS. al-Anbiya’ ayat 7 states that this verse is the argument that the messenger is only from men. However, it turns out that the word rijāl in QS. al-Anbiya’ ayat 7 there are indications of the meaning of women which is correlated with rijāl in other verses in the Koran. This shows that there are differences in interpreting interpretations depending on the interpreter's period. This study aims to examine the historical meaning, historical significance, and contemporary dynamic significance of QS. al-Anbiya’ ayat 7   to find relevant and progressive meanings to the present. This research was assessed using qualitative methods. literature review comes from data sources related to research with the ma'nā cum magzā approach theory. This theory was chosen because it has a structured and comprehensive work tool in offering interpretations of the Koran, because it has united classical science with multidisciplinary knowledge. This research got the result that QS. al-Anbiya’ ayat 7 actually does not focus on the issue of apostolic identity, but this verse indicates a connection with the statement of the Quraysh who doubted the Prophet Muhammad SAW as a messenger, then, in terms of historical significance, the message of the verse is an affirmation that the Prophet Muhammad SAW receiving revelation and in terms of contemporary dynamic significance reveals the importance of having competence in preaching which includes several strategies to approach aspects of sociology, psychology, culture and the wise command to ask scientific professionals who are experts in their fields

As one important element in novel, character takes a large space in the storyline. Therefore, in this paper, the main focus is to analyze the main character of The Kite Runner novel by referring the character types to literature and psychological concept. The Kite Runner is a novel written by Khaled Hosseini in 2003. In 2005, this novel successfully became the chart-topping book and was voted in 2006 as the reading group book of the year. In examining the main character of Amir from literary concept, we will analyze the character personality through: the main character’s background, the main character’s act, the main character’s say, the main character’s thought and how other characters react to the main character. With regard to the main character analysis from psychological point of view, we use fundamental dimension of personality of how the character gets energy, attention, decision making and lifestyle. The result of this analysis shows that many positive sides of the character that can be adapted by the reader. Specifically speaking, from the literary conception, the main character falls into round/dynamic type of character. On the other hand, in psychology conception, the main character shows many changes from time to time. In childhood age the main character adheres the INFJ type, during adolescent age the main character changes his personality into ENFJ, and at adulthood age, he transforms into ESTP personality

Typical hydraulic hybrid system vehicles depend on oil-based hydraulic fluid. Due to the natural concerns of environment and safety, promote the uses of the water-based hydraulic hybrid system. The main focus of this thesis is to investigate the potential of using water-based hydraulic technology instead of the current oil-based hydraulic technology. The main subject of this technology is in heavy commercial vehicles that frequently in a stop and go modes such as garbage trucks or delivery trucks that produce an immense amount of energy in a moment. The hydraulic hybrid driveline presented in this research is a series type, and the output of the driveline is connected to a Mitsubishi Fuso 6D34-0AT2 as a load to the system. In addition, the driveline is contained of hydraulic component (accumulator, hydraulic pump/motor) which serves to store and distribute power. HyspinAWS68 (mineral oil) was used as a pressure medium to create a comparison with water. This research includes an extensive study on the component modeling and simulation by using Matlab/Simulink and mainly based on the platform of Simhydraulics for the hydraulic flow and Simdriveline for the mechanical line. The focus part of modeling is primarily at 4 parts of the driveline which is system pressure, volumetric displacement, total accumulator volume, high-pressure accumulator pre-charge pressure. Based on the simulation, several data were collected such as time taken to fully charged, pressure, volumetric flow rate, torque, power, vehicle speed and also efficiency. The simulation result indicates that as one might expect that HyspinAWS68 has a higher performance of hydraulic hybrid driveline compared to water. This is due to the weakness of water properties as a pressure medium in terms of the density, viscosity, bulk modulus that causes a significant effect on the efficiency and performance of the hydraulic hybrid driveline. Several serious issues faced by water are internal leakage, pressure drop and also the capability to be compressed. In spite of this, the implementation of water hydraulic a potential response that required a depth study in terms of the properties and the component parameter to achieve the optimum performance of water-based hydraulic hybrid driveline. In future, experimental research on the performance of water-based hydraulic hybrid is required

Turnitin: Dhikr Policy: Elite and Populism in Banda Aceh, Indonesia

    Get PDF
Islamic populism trend is increasing in Indonesia. One of them is the dhikr policy in Aceh after the tsunami. Dhikr was and is used by elites both during the election as a campaign strategy, as well as a populist policy in running the government in the city of Banda Aceh. This study uses a qualitative approach through in-depth and snowball interviews in the city of Banda Aceh. The results of this study explain three main findings. First, the dhikr policy is not just a ritual of worship, but it merely serves an entertaining dhikr, which involves the government in terms of implementing and budgeting. Second, the motive of the political elite in the dhikr as a populist policy is to form an elite figure because it aims to display the symbol of faith, political compensation, means of communication and public clarification. Finally, the zikr policy has not been able to solve the problems of individual and social welfare in Banda Aceh. Thus, increasing populism along with the birth of populist policies have formed an elite Indonesian figure(s) amidst the establishment of democracy today

This study was designed to discover the types of conversational implicature and the non-observance maxim of cooperative principles expressed by the characters in the Kingdom of Heaven movie script by William Monahan. The theory of Grice was applied to analyze the conversational implicature, and the qualitative approach is used to explain the conversational implicatures. After analyzing the movie, we discovered particularized implicatures as the most frequent conversational implicatures in the movie script with 14 occurrences, followed by six occurrences of generalized implicatures. The finding also revealed that the frequent use of flouting maxim of quantity occurred more frequent with 14 out of the total 20 excerpts, with violating maxim found only three times in the movie script. From this study, both findings suggested the reason behind the frequent use of flouting maxim compare to violating maxim in conversational implicature is because the speaker assumes that they will be in a safe position, and then expect the hearer to understand their points, as the speaker did not intentionally manipulate or mislead the hearer.

A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF TASK-BASED LANGUAGE TEACHING (TBLT) CRITERIA IN COURSE BOOKS FOR UPPER INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH STUDENTS

Recently, the importance of task-based language teaching (TBLT) is presumably clear and therefore has also widely being used in many countries. The process of recognizing a ‘task’ itself could be one of the fields where it tends to be slightly fuzzy, especially for a new, learner and inexperience teacher. Many English experts and task-based supporters have published various books to assist their ideas. Perhaps that is why; we now have had different criterion of assessing a ‘task’. This paper thus, intends to establish the extent to which a modern course book has encompassed principles and practice of TBLT when compared with older books. I have therefore taken two books as the source of data for this paper; Natural English-Upper Intermediate Student’s Book and Workout Upper Intermediate Student’s Book, both aimed at the same language level of learner. Both are intended to upper intermediate student

THE LANGUAGE OF POLITICAL CAMPAIGN IN POST-CIVIL WAR MUSLIM SOCIETY

This paper examines post-conflict Aceh electioneering in 2012 by the ex-GAM politicians. It deals with their idiosyncratic political rhetoric campaigned in the selected Aceh media before the election. It does not only analyze the narrow, micro and mechanic sense of linguistics relevance to politics, but also the wider, macro and systematic and strategic use of discourse. The language of ex-GAM political campaign appears to be engineered, either partly or entirely, to increase their possibility to win the pre-election campaign in post-civil war Aceh. The paper focuses on the actor of rhetoric (rhetor) – their strategies, similarities and differences canvassed to printed newspapers and portal news. Its findings does not always generalize and applicable to other timing of election. Nevertheless, it is also possible that such accounts illustrate the generic repeated picture of prior elections and to some degree, of the next elections too
