Comparing the Vertical Misfit of Casts Produced By Two Verification Jigs

    Get PDF
Purpose: To compare the dimensional accuracy between master casts fabricated with verification jigs made of acrylic resin and light cure Triad. Materials and Methods: 10 GC Pattern resin Pattern verifications jigs and 10 Triad gel verification jigs fabricated of a master cast of a mandibular model of 4 internal hex implants. A stone base was fabricated for each verification jig. One screw test was used to evaluate the vertical gap at the terminal abutment using a digital micrometer with an accuracy of 1ÎĽm to record the vertical gap for each sample. Results: Triad Gel group has the lowest average distortion value which is 27.8 ÎĽm and GC Pattern Resin group has an average value of 29.71 ÎĽm. There was no statistical significance difference between the two groups (p=.42)Conclusions: The Triad gel jigs did not produce superior fit compared to GC Pattern resin pattern in a master cast with four implants and with an internal connection

Investigation of Transient Overvoltages on GIS Busbars and External Enclosures

Fast Front Transient Overvoltages and Very Fast Transient Overvoltages in a 380kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) located in Jeddah City have been studied and analyzed using PSCAD Software. The Gas insulated substation (GIS) components and equipment's inside substation have been modeled using their equivalent circuits and distributed parameter lines that take into account during transients. Two Lighting events leading to the generation of possible Fast Transient Overvoltages are analyzed and discussed: i) Direct Strike, ii) Back Flashover. One switching operation event leading to the generation of possible Very Fast Transient Overvoltages inside GIS is analyzed and discussed: i) disconnector switching of outgoing diameter. Transient ground potential raise has also been investigated. Keywords: Fast Transient Overvoltages, Very Fast Transient Overvoltages, PSCAD softwar

The purpose of this study was to investigate Saudi Arabia’s school principals’ perceptions of their leadership ethics. In this investigation, the leadership ethics principals were considered in the following 14 items. The survey instrument was distributed to all 263 principals in the 263 high schools in Saudi Arabia. Each of the principals was asked to review, complete, and return. In Saudi Arabia, all schools are segregated by gender as well as by geographical population. Of the 263 surveys distributed, 238 surveys were reviewed, completed, and returned. This equates to 90.5% of the total amount of Saudi principals asked to complete the survey. The data found that the overall average of the perception of leadership ethics principals in Saudi Arabian high school was 4.26. The data also showed there was no statistically significant difference between male and female principals, between the number of years of principal experience who answered the questions, or between the highest of educational degrees they completed regarding their principal leadership ethics

Appling Authorities Granted to School principals in male and female school principals in the General Administration of Education and Teaching in Asir

This study aims to identify the current situation and the importance of utilizing the granted authority of male and female school principals in the General Administration of Education and Teaching in Asir. It also aims to investigate the difficulties of applying this authority and to identify the different attitudes of the student population towards these principals based on various variables -- gender, level of education and years of teaching experience. A survey was developed by the researcher to collect the data from 324 school principals at the Asir Educational Directorate. The most significant outcome revealed from this study is that the level of applying the principals' authority was 1.77 and the importance of utilizing authority was high (2.33). The overall average of difficulty was 2.33. Results also showed that there was a significant statistical difference between the means of males and females in the estimation of difficulties which prevent utilizing authority granted to school principals which favored females participants. In regards to the years of experience, the study revealed that there were significant statistical differences among the student population in favor of those principals who had experience of more than ten years. Nevertheless, in light of the current study results, suggested recommendations are enhancing the awareness of the importance of utilizing authority, providing the requirements of applying verbal authority, and helping to ease the implementation of this authority

Effective human resource management practices are considered to be very important for the overall success of an organization. We have investigated the prevailing human resource management practices in the hospitality sector of Saudi Arabia. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews from the human resource managers and general managers of hotels operating in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Finding of the study shows that proper human resource management practices are not adopted, especially very little attention is given to employees training and development and their performance appraisals. Mangers are confronted with a number of challenges due to ineffective human resource management practices. Limitations of the study and future research directions are given Keywords: HRM practices, Hospitality sector and Saudi Arabia

Exploring Service Quality in the Hospitality Sector from the Perspective of Religious Tourists in Saudi Arabia

In a developing country like KSA some studies have explored individual concepts regarding service quality and customer satisfaction, but fewer if none have investigated their relationship in hotel industry. Clients’ perceptions seem to be largely ignored by the management in hotel industry. Therefore, this study is a customer-centered one and focuses on examining service quality indicated by differences of clients’ expectations and perceptions. It also examines the link between clients’ perception and their overall satisfaction with hotel services. Respondents were interviewed using a modified SERVQUAL (Service quality) questionnaire. Results of the study reveals that relatively high customer perception scores were found for understanding of speci?c needs of client, individual attention by the company, interest in solving client’s problems etc. and low perception was found for advanced reservation technology, employees behavior towards customers , just in time service etc. the article concludes by giving Future research directions and policy recommendations. We investigated a cluster of 5 plague cases; the patients included 4 with severe pharyngitis and submandibular lymphadenitis. These 4 case-patients had eaten raw camel liver. Yersinia pestis was isolated from bone marrow of the camel and from jirds (Meriones libycus) and fleas (Xenopsylla cheopis) captured at the camel corral

ASSOCIATION BETWEEN LOCUS OF CONTROL OF HEALTH, RELIGIOUS ATTITUDE, AND SPIRITUALITY IN OLDER ADULTS IN PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS OF JEDDAH

Background: A common perception in Muslim society is there that, in old age people see God (Allah) to close as well as they spend most of their time in worshiping and other religious as well spiritual based activities. While role of health and locus of health control is also playing such religious and spiritual practices. Aim of Study: To check the correlation between health locus of control, religious attitude, and spirituality among older Saudi Arabians adults Method: A cross-sectional descriptive research design was used on the 109 older adults, who were selected through online questionnaire by using convenient purposive sampling technique. As we used three questionnaire such as health locus of control, religious attitude scale and spirituality index. Findings & Results: It was found that older adults have a high level of religious attitude as 71.2% and spirituality as 80.1%. The correlation of the sub-domain of health locus of control in its powerful others dimension has a low but statistically significant correlation with religious attitude (r = .278, p < .01) and does not have a correlation with spirituality, thus, a level high religious attitude makes it more likely that older adults have a locus of control over health powerful others at a high level (odds = 3.11, 2.21 – 7.22).  Conclusion: There is higher level of religious attitude in Saudi older Adults. While health locus of control has a significant impact in practicing religious activities as well as showing spirituality
