The purpose of this paper is to reveal the perception of nationalism of pre-service teachers who will teach Social Studies course in a multidimensional manner. In the study, a total of 381 pre-service teachers who study in department of Social Studies from different universities located in different regions of Turkey was defined as the study group and a descriptive model was used as the basis of the research design. The data include both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. In the scope of the research, a questionnaire was created to determine pre-service teachers’ perception of nationalism. This form consists of three sections. The participants’ demographic data, opinion questions and the nationalism perception scale are presented in the sections, respectively. The questionnaire was applied to the pre-service teachers studying in different regions of Turkey. At the end of the research, various results were obtained regarding the nationalism perceptions of pre-service social studies teachers. Keywords: Education, Social studies, Nationalis

The purpose of this study was to determine the views of teachers who work in state primary schools about their working conditions. The research was conducted in qualitative method. The study group was chosen by maximum variation sampling among teachers who work in Kepez, Antalya. The data were gathered by interviews using a semi-structured interview form. The data were analyzed using content analysis by NVivo 9 programme. As a result, seven categories were identified out of the analysis as social and economical facilities, working settings, the atmosphere about the value of teaching and teachers, promotion and awarding system, relations with management, relations with colleagues and environmental factors. Consequently, teachers stated that they do not have a positive perception about their working conditions. On the other hand, the results asserted that negative views about working conditions were dominated by the positive meaning attached to the profession by teachers themselves and by the society.

The purpose of this study was to explore the correlation between interpersonal communication skills and conflict management strategies in the case of inspection groups constituted by a number of inspectors based on the geographical and demographic dispersion of the school population in Turkey. This research was conducted as a survey. The population of the study consisted of 2493 inspectors working in 81 provinces geographically divided in seven regions. In this research, the data were collected by “Interpersonal Communication Skills Questionnaire” which consisted of 33 items and “Conflict Management Strategies Questionnaire” which consisted of 32 items. In the analyses of the study, Pearson correlations coefficient and Hierarchical regression were conducted. Consequently, the findings show that both the leaders’ and the supervisors’ views were congruent in that positive and significant correlations were found between two conflict management strategies (problem solving and compromising) and all interpersonal communication skills. The results of Hierarchical regression analysis further showed that feedback and trusting variables had statistically significant positive effects on problem solving, avoiding and dominating strategies and finally effectiveness variable had statistically significant positive effects on compromising strategy.  Article visualizations

Abstract The ohmic heating process is one of the novel electrical heating methods that are considered as fast, homogeneous and efficient heating. In this study, the details of the relationship between electrical conductivity (EC)-Temperature (Temp) and EC-pH-Temp at different Total Soluble Solid Content (TSSC) and different pH values were examined. Especially, the study explains details of the electrical conductivity value due to pH change (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5) and expressing EC change depending on the pH value of fruit and vegetable juices. At constant pH, EC values decrease with increasing TSSC values (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%) and decrease with increasing pH at constant TSSC value. When the relationship between Temp-EC is analyzed that the EC value increases as Temp increases in all cases and this increase is linear. It was found that the Temp-EC relationship was in high compatibility with an R2 value above 0.97. Also, in the Temp-EC-pH relationship, the R2 value was found to be an acceptable value above 0.95

Traumatic epidural hematomas of the posterior cranial fossa

Background: Traumatic EDHs of the posterior cranial fossa are rare and have a higher mortality than supratentorial localizations. Early diagnosis of TEHPCF and prompt surgical evacuation provide excellent recovery. Active use of cranial CT scanning has taken a major role in the diagnosis, surgical indication, close observation, and strategy planning. As a result, better prognosis is achieved. In this study, we represent our results and experiences in the management of TEHPCF
