The purpose of the thesis is to determine an approach of the level of performance Cluster coopetitive wooden furniture Industrial Park of Villa El Salvador (PIVES) within the guilds, institutions, government, associations and companies from integrating dimensions knowledge and scope of competition. This study is of great importance, because PIVES concentrates around 1,880 companies of which 95% are microenterprises which generate about 10 thousand jobs. This thesis has been developed according to the guidelines of a quantitativedescriptive research. The primary source of information has been provided by the actors in the cluster of wooden furniture of the Industrial Park of Villa El Salvador. For research purposes, we used a questionnaire of 68 questions grouped into seven variables, four of which correspond to the dimension of the knowledge integration and the other 3 to the scope of competition, according to the model of Morosini (2004). The results of the study shows an approximation that, within the guilds, institutions, government, associations and companies that belong to the cluster of wooden furniture PIVES, performance coopetitivo dimensions in their integration of the knowledge and scope of the competition has an average value of 3.9 , and a low value or local 1.9 respectively. The recommendations of this research work, as an approximation, are looking to generate a higher degree of integration of the cluster of the PIVES within the guilds, institutions, government, associations and companies, as a first stage, and then develop through a model of transformational leadership a vision of global reach that would allow companies of the cluster have a high economic performance of at the global level.Tesi

The Impact of Hydroponic Vegetables on Health

    Get PDF
Hydroponic growing or farming is a method of growing plants using mineral solutions instead of agricultural soil. It has contributed to many countries in a simple but very important way by providing healthy food. The purpose of this study is to successfully understand the impact of hydroponic products since they are a high-quality food that is beneficial to health. Growing plants using hydroponics requires less water than growing plants in soil and requires less physical effort, making it ideal for people limited by age or health conditions. These three human qualities are the most important requirements and at the same time the limiting factors for the rapid productive adoption of landless cultures; an opportunity to feed the family better, earn money in a house and prove it to everyone if necessary. Anyone with little income and little education can become a small business owner, in addition to helping their health a lot with hydroponic products

Ultraviolet Radiation and Its Effects on Plants

    Get PDF
Ultraviolet radiation is a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum ranging from 10 to 400 nm, classified into three main categories: UV-A (320–400 nm), UV-B (280–320 nm), and UV-C (100–280 nm). The UV radiation from the sun that crosses the atmosphere and reaches the earth’s surface is composed largely of UV-A radiation (95%) and, to a lesser extent, UV-B (5%), which is normally filtered by stratospheric ozone. With the thinning of the ozone layer, UV-B radiation penetrates deeper into the earth’s surface, where it becomes dangerous due to its high energy content that acts at the molecular level, affecting the cycles of carbon, nitrogen, and other elements, thus, having a direct impact on global warming. On the other hand, UV radiation alters numerous essential organic compounds for living organisms. Since its discovery, it has been established that e UV-B causes alterations in plant development and metabolism, both primary and secondary. In this chapter, we summarize the current knowledge about the effects of UV radiation on the morphological, biochemical, and genetic processes in plants

COVID-19 outbreaks in a transmission control scenario: challenges posed by social and leisure activities, and for workers in vulnerable conditions, Spain, early summer 2020

    Get PDF
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 community-wide transmission declined in Spain by early May 2020, being replaced by outbreaks and sporadic cases. From mid-June to 2 August, excluding single household outbreaks, 673 outbreaks were notified nationally, 551 active (>6,200 cases) at the time. More than half of these outbreaks and cases coincided with: (i) social (family/friends’ gatherings or leisure venues) and (ii) occupational (mainly involving workers in vulnerable conditions) settings. Control measures were accordingly applied

15 p.-3 fig.-3 tab.Introduction:The clinical effect of domperidone against COVID-19 has been investigated in a double-blind phase III clinical trial (EudraCT number 2021-001228-17). Domperidone has shown in vitro antiviral activity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and potential immudolatory properties through the stimulation of prolactin secretion.Patients and methods:The efficacy of oral domperidone plus standard of care (SOC; n = 87) versus placebo plus SOC (n = 86) was evaluated in a 28-day randomized double-blind multicentre study in primary health care centres. A total of 173 outpatients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 were included. Three daily doses of 10 mg (30 mg/day) of domperidone or placebo were administered for 7 days. Reduction of viral load on day 4 was the primary efficay endpoint. It was estimated in saliva samples by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), as the cycle thresholds detected ORF1ab, N Protein and S Protein genes. Results:A significant reduction in the viral load was observed (p < 0.001) from baseline to days 4, 7 and 14 of the three genes studied with non-significant differences between domperidone and placebo groups. Twenty-three patients (13.3%) experienced adverse events, 14 patients in the domperidone group (16.1%) and 9 patients in the placebo group (10.5%). No patients needed to be hospitalized. Conclusion: Results do not prove the use of domperidone as antiviral in patients with COVID-19.This research was funded by CSIC (grant no.
