Data Security in Cloud for Medical Sciences using AES 512-bit Algorithm

    Get PDF
Cloud computing is typically defined as a type of evaluation that relies on sharing computing resources to handle applications. There is a requirement to redesign the medical system to meet their better needs among the growing technologies .With the initiation of cloud computing the doctors can keep their information about the latest diseases, emergency cases and complex problems. However the privacy and security of data is extremely exigent. To guarantee privacy and security of data in cloud computing, we have proposed an effective approach for data security by the process of encrypting and decrypting the data through the concept of cryptography. In this paper the proposal is to prevent data access from cloud data storage centers by unauthorized access using AES-512 bit algorithm with key size and input block size of 512-bits that makes it more defiant to cryptanalysis. In silico Screening of Violacein as an epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor

    Get PDF
EGFR is a key player in the signalling cascades of various kinds of cancers and tyrosine kinase inhibitors block EGFR signalling. Natural products have long been used as candidates for therapy in the management of cancer. Violacein, a bacterial pigment, has been known for its numerous biological applications such as antimicrobial, antileishmanial, antiviral, as well as antitumoral. Computational studies have concluded that it may have activity against cancers like pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, and endometrial cancer indicating its potential application as a broad range of anti-cancerous drug. This study aimed to perform the molecular docking of violacein with the EGFR protein to ascertain its EGFR inhibitor property, which could lead to the development of a novel anti-cancer drug

Poultry Farming in the Coastal Agro Ecosystem of Kerala

    Get PDF
The potential for development of the coastal agro eco system through supplementary occupation has not yet been fully realized. The people living the coastal areas are among the poorest in the world. Poor water and soil quality, diseases and social backwardness are the other reasons for unsuccessful development. Though aquaculture has got great scope for generation of wealth and enhanced per capita income, consistent results are not obtained due to fish diseases and inappropriate management at farm level

L-deprenyl attenuates the rotenone-induced dopaminergic neurotoxicity: experimental evidences in rats

    Get PDF
Parkinson disease (PD) is progressive neurological disorder because of massive degeneration of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. The pathogenesis of PD is unknown, but considerable evidence suggests multifactorial factors including genetic, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, excitotoxicity, calcium cytotoxicity, environmental factors and apoptosis. We investigated the role of oxidative damage produced by intranigral infusion of a potent mitochondrial complex-I inhibitor, rotenone and studied the neuroprotective effects with a well-known antiparkinsonian drug L-deprenyl in rats. Unilateral stereotaxic intranigral infusion of rotenone 6 lg caused significant decrease in dopamine levels. L-deprenyl (10 mg/kg) treatment significantly attenuated the DA depletion caused by rotenone. Parallely, a significant decrease in the concentration of GSH was also observed in the SN was reverted by L-deprenyl treatment. L-deprenyl significantly attenuated the rotenone-induced decrease in tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactivity in striatum. The results suggest that L-deprenyl can rescue the dopaminergic neurons from the rotenone mediated neurodegeneration in this experimental animal model

Comparison of performance parameters of poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) based electrochromic device on glass with and without counter electrode

    Get PDF
Conjugated polymers are promising materials for electrochromic device technology. Aqueous dispersions of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-(PEDOT) were spin coated onto transparent conducting oxide (TCO) coated glass substrates. A seven-layer electrochromic device was fabricated with the following configuration: glass/transparent conducting oxide (TCO)/PEDOT (main electrochromic layer)/gel electrolyte/prussian blue (counter electrode)/TCO/glass. The device fabricated with counter electrode (Prussian blue) showed a contrast of 18% and without counter electrode showed visible contrast of 5% at 632 nm at a voltage of 1·9 V. The comparison of the device is done in terms of the colouration efficiency of the devices with and without counter electrode
