    Get PDF
Fruit image classification and recognition is a challenging application of computer vision. The computer vision system is used to recognize a fruit based on artificial neural networks. Deep neural network is widely used for various classification problems. In this paper Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is used to recognize the fruits. The dataset contains 1877 images of ten categories which are used for the experimental purpose. CNN is constructed with sixteen layers which are used to extract the features from images and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier is used for classification. The proposed system has the classification accuracy of 99.2% and the recognition accuracy of 99.02%

This paper is based on Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) wind turbine in a power system for nonlinear loads. By which the nonlinear system can be made to work as a linear system to bring out better performance. . Fuzzy logic is a logical system which provides definite solution to solve problems. It process with fuzzy variables which are defined by membership functions. The combined action of PI and FLC controls the switching actions, distortion in harmonics and provide compensation for unbalanced load if any at the point of common coupling. The proposed system consists of back to back connected converters, one is connected to the generator side and the other is connected to the grid side. The grid side connected converter is used for compensation ie, it act as an Active Power Filter (APF) and compensator hence the cost of using APF is reduced. Reduced Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is obtained by simulating (MATLAB/SIMULINK) the performance and the result is found to be quite satisfactory. Lesions mimicking lacrimal gland pleomorphic adenoma

Aim: To report a series of patients with lacrimal gland lesions simulating the clinicoradiological features of lacrimal gland pleomorphic adenoma (LGPA). Methods: Multicentre retrospective, interventional case series. Clinical records of all patients with lesions mimicking LGPA seen in five orbital units were reviewed. Results: The study included 14 patients (seven men and seven women) with a mean age of 50.9 years. The diagnosis of LGPA was made in all cases by experienced orbital surgeons, based on clinicoradiological features, and lacrimal gland excision was performed. Postoperative histology revealed lymphoma (four patients), chronic dacryoadenitis (three patients), adenoid cystic carcinoma (two patients), Sjogren's syndrome (two patients), cavernous haemangioma (one patient), benign lymphoid hyperplasia (one patient) and granulomatous dacryoadenitis (one patient). Comparison with the total number of histologically confirmed LGPA cases seen during the study period revealed that 22.6% of cases of suspected LGPA were misdiagnosed based on clinicoradiological criteria. Conclusions: Many different lesions may mimic the clinicoradiological features of LGPA. The accepted clinicoradiological criteria used for the diagnosis of LGPA have a high false-positive rate, even in experienced hands. Based on this study, the authors believe that fine-needle aspiration biopsy or intraoperative biopsy and frozen section diagnosis may help reduce unnecessary lacrimal gland excision.Venkatesh C Prabhakaran, Paul S Cannon, Alan McNab, Garry Davis, Brett O’Donnell, Peter J Dolman, Raf Ghabrial, Dinesh Selv

Functional interconnections of HY1 with MYC2 and HY5 in Arabidopsis seedling development

Arabidopsis seedling development is controlled by many regulatory genes involved in multiple signaling pathways. The functional relationships of these genes working in multiple signaling cascades have started to be unraveled. Arabidopsis HY1/HO1 is a rate-limiting enzyme involved in biosynthesis of phytochrome chromophore. HY5 (a bZIP protein) promotes photomorphogenesis, however ZBF1/MYC2 (a bHLH protein) works as a negative regulator of photomorphogenic growth and light regulated gene expression. Further, MYC2 and HY1 have been shown to play important roles in jasmonic acid (JA) signaling pathways. Here, we show the genetic interactions of HY1 with two key transcription factor genes of light signaling, HY5 and MYC2, in Arabidopsis seedling development. Our studies reveal that although HY1 acts in an additive manner with HY5, it is epistatic to MYC2 in light-mediated seedling growth and gene expression. This study further demonstrates that HY1 additively or synergistically functions with HY5, however it works upstream to MYC2 in JA signaling pathways. Taken together, this study demonstrates the functional interrelations of HY1, MYC2 and HY5 in light and JA signaling pathways

Ionic Liquids Made with Dimethylcarbonate: Solvents as well as Boosted Basic Catalysts for the Michael Reaction

Abstract: This article describes 1) a methodology for the green synthesis of a class of methylammonium and methylphosphonium ionic liquids (ILs), 2) how to tune their acid–base properties by anion exchange, 3) complete neat-phase NMR spectroscopic characterisation of these materials and 4) their application as active organocatalysts for base-promoted carbon– carbon bond-forming reactions. Methylation of tertiary amines or phosphines with dimethyl carbonate leads to the formation of the halogen-free methyl-onium methyl carbonate salts, and these can be easily anion-exchanged to yield a range of derivatives with different melting points, solubility, acid–base properties, stability and viscosity. Treatment with water, in particular, yields bicarbonate-exchanged liquid onium salts. These proved strongly basic, enough to efficiently catalyse the Michael reaction; experiments suggest that in these systems the bicarbonate basicity is boosted by two orders of magnitude with respect to inorganic bicarbonate salts. These basic ionic liquids used in catalytic amounts are better even than traditional strong organic bases. The present work also introduces neat NMR spectroscopy of the ionic liquids as a probe for solute– solvent interactions as well as a tool for characterisation. Our studies show that high catalytic efficacy of functional ionic liquids can be achieved by integrating their green synthesis, along with a fine-tuning of their structure. Demonstrating that ionic liquid solvents can be made by a truly green procedure, and that their properties and reactivity can be tailored to the point of bridging the gap between their use as solvents and as catalysts. DIREITO PENAL DO RISCO: A TENTATIVA DE EXPANSÃO DISFUNCIONAL DO DIREITO PENAL DIANTE DA SOCIEDADE DE RISCO.

    Get PDF
