Black hole evaporation in a heat bath as a nonequilibrium process and its final fate

When a black hole evaporates, there arises a net energy flow from black hole into its outside environment (heat bath). The existence of energy flow means that the thermodynamic state of the whole system, which consists of the black hole and the heat bath, is in a nonequilibrium state. Therefore, in order to study the detail of evaporation process, the nonequilibrium effects of the energy flow should be taken into account. Using the nonequilibrium thermodynamics which has been formulated recently, this paper shows the following: (1) Time scale of black hole evaporation in a heat bath becomes shorter than that of the evaporation in an empty space (a situation without heat bath), because a nonequilibrium effect of temperature difference between the black hole and heat bath appears as a strong energy extraction from the black hole by the heat bath. (2) Consequently a huge energy burst (stronger than that of the evaporation in an empty space) arises at the end of semi-classical stage of evaporation. (3) It is suggested that a remnant of Planck size remains after the quantum stage of evaporation in order to guarantee the increase of total entropy of the whole system

Objectives: Explore the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) on the health of female survivors. Identify complementary therapies that alleviate symptoms of psychological health impacts of IPV on women’s health. Method: An exhaustive search of published, peer reviewed literature on complementary therapies and IPV was conducted. Databases included PubMed and CINAHL. Each article reviewed was published between the years of 2002 and 2016. The initial search produced 112 articles, abstracts of all studies were reviewed and studies were included if they addressed; a) complementary and alternative therapies, b) post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression and, c) the impact of IPV on female survivors. Results: Of the 112 citations obtained, 42 relevant studies met the inclusion criteria. Excluded articles did not meet the criteria specified in the method. The major psychological effects of IPV discovered were Post-Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD), Anxiety, and Depression. Essential Oils, Yoga, Meditation, Mantram, Animal Assisted Therapy, and Music Therapy were all found to be effective complementary interventions in aiding to treat the psychological aftermath of intimate partner violence in women. Conclusion: While theses complementary therapies have been deemed effective for treating some of the psychological effects of IPV (PTSD, anxiety, and depression), further research needs to be completed to test these modalities in order to develop best practice treatment plans and to compare the different therapies

We report a male infant with Down syndrome who had a transient myeloproliferative disorder associated with skin lesions. He was transferred to a neonatal intensive care unit because of low body weight, fetal edema, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and 10% blast cells in the peripheral blood. On postnatal day (PD) 1, erythema with small papules, vesicles, and pustules appeared on the entire body. A smear preparation from the pustules on PD 2 showed 10% blast cells. A biopsy specimen taken on PD 5 revealed subcorneal pustules containing neutrophils and eosinophils. Genetic analyses detected a somatic mutation (197G>T, Glu295Stop) in exon 2 of GATA-1. On PD 10, the eruptions resolved spontaneously and the population of blast cells in peripheral blood decreased to 1%. The number of blast cells in pustules decreased markedly after three days. Therefore, we recommend that cytologic examination should be performed as early as possible.ArticleJournal of American Academy of Dermatology. 60(5):869-871 (2009)journal articl

Pemodelan Return Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan Menggunakan Threshold Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (Tgarch)

ARIMA model is one of modeling method that can be applied on time series data. It assumes that the variance of residual is constant. Time series data, particularly the return of composite stock price index, tend to change rapidly from time to time and also fluctuating, which cause heteroscedasticity where the variance of residual is not constant. Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (ARCH) or Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) can be used to construct model of financial data with heteroscedasticity. Besides of having inconsistent variance, financial data usually shows phenomenon where the difference of the effect between positive error value and negative error value towards data volatility, called asymmetric effect. Therefore, one of the GARCH asymmetric models, Threshold Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (TGARCH) is used in this research to solve heteroscedasticity and asymmetric effect in stock price index return. The data in this research is stock price index return from January 2nd, 2013 until October 30th, 2015. From the analysis, TGARCH models are obtained. ARIMA([3],0,[26])-TGARCH(1,1) is the best model because it has the smallest AIC value compared to other models. It produces the forecast value of stock price index return nearly the same with actual return value on the same day
