Wheat flour, an inexpensive medium for in vitro cultivation of coprophilous fungus Coprinopsis cinerea
Coprinopsis cinerea, a coprophilous basidiomycetous fungus generally called as inky cap mushroom is used as a model organism to study the evolution of fruiting bodies in higher fungi. Herbivorous animal dung is a major source of Coprinopsis cinerea, as it contains high carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus elements. Due to the extensive application of Coprinopsis cinerea in Genetics, Molecular Biology and Microbial Biotechnology it is necessary to explore a suitable inexpensive medium for its in vitro cultivation. In our present study, we found that 2 wheat flour medium supported the vegetative growth and induced the fruiting body formation within 10 days at 30°C, pH 6 under dark compared to malt extract amended media. The number of fruiting bodies and biomass of fruiting bodies were also found higher in wheat flour medium compared to other media tested with similar cultural conditions. © Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences
Green and Sustainability in Software Development Lifecycle Process
This chapter gives an insight of GREENSOFT Model for sustainable software engineering. In today’s world, computing devices are extensively by all for many purposes. They consume lots of energy even though they reduce energy consumption. Computers are used extensively while developing software. Existing software engineering models do not pay much attention to green computing that focuses on the effective use of natural resources. Sustainability of resources is the key. The GREENSOFT model of software engineering proposes a methodology in which Green IT practices are used, which will reduce the energy consumption of computers while developing software
POOL BOILING OF WATER OVER A STAINLESS STEEL FLAT PLATE HEATER
The purpose of this experiment is to study heat transfer characteristics of water through pool boiling over a flat stainless steel plate heater. The present experimental data of water is in good agreement with Stephen and Abdelsalam correlation (1980) with the given heat flux range 30-750 kW/m2. Without any modification in the Stephen and Abdelsalam correlation (1980), it is observed that the experimental data of water are within an error band of ± 20 percent, this is because of the Stephen and Abdelsalam correlation (1980) predicts their own data in an error band of 11.3 percent. In order to minimize the error band, the pool boiling experimental data of water have been analyzed by regression analysis using Stephen and Abdelsalam correlation (1980) and the powers and coefficient of the terms in the correlation are modified and the optimum values of the power index and coefficient which gives the minimum error band of ± 10 is obtained
Efficient VQE Approach for Accurate Simulations on the Kagome Lattice
The Kagome lattice, a captivating lattice structure composed of
interconnected triangles with frustrated magnetic properties, has garnered
considerable interest in condensed matter physics, quantum magnetism, and
quantum computing. The Ansatz optimization provided in this study along with
extensive research on optimisation technique results us with high accuracy.
This study focuses on using multiple ansatz models to create an effective
Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) on the Kagome lattice. By comparing
various optimisation methods and optimising the VQE ansatz models, the main
goal is to estimate ground state attributes with high accuracy. This study
advances quantum computing and advances our knowledge of quantum materials with
complex lattice structures by taking advantage of the distinctive geometric
configuration and features of the Kagome lattice. Aiming to improve the
effectiveness and accuracy of VQE implementations, the study examines how
Ansatz Modelling, quantum effects, and optimization techniques interact in VQE
algorithm. The findings and understandings from this study provide useful
direction for upcoming improvements in quantum algorithms, quantum machine
learning and the investigation of quantum materials on the Kagome Lattice.Comment: 7 pages,7 figure
Analytical Model of Symmetric Halo Doped DG-Tunnel FET
Two-dimensional analytical model of symmetric halo doped double gate tunnel field effect transistor has been presented
in this work. This model is developed based on the 2-D Poisson’s equation. Some important parameters such that surface
potential, vertical and lateral electric field, electric field intensity and band energy have been modelled. The doping
concentration and length of halo regions are varied and dependency of various parameters is studied. The halo doping is
imparted to improve the ON current and to reduce the intrinsic ambipolarity of the device. Hence we can achieve
improved ION/IOFF ratio. The scaling property of halo doped structure is analyzed with various dielectric constants
In vitro Assessment of Neonicotinoids and Pyrethroids against Tea Mosquito Bug, Helopeltis antonii Sign. (Hemiptera: Miridae) on Guava
The tea mosquito bug (TMB), Helopeltis antonii, is an emerging pest of horticultural crops, specially on guava and moringa. Insecticides are indispensable component for the management of insect pests. Exploration of new molecules with shortest waiting period may pave way for managing TMB in fruit and vegetable crops with nil/low residue. Until now there are no recommended insecticides available under Central Insecticides Board & Registration Committee (CIB&RC) against TMB on guava. In view of the above facts, new molecules with a low waiting period and are recommended by CIB&RC on tea, viz., Clothianidin 50% WDG, Thiacloprid 21.7% SC, Bifenthrin 10% EC, and Thiamethoxam 12.60% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC, were chosen and evaluated against TMB under in vitro condition. Clothianidin 50% WDG recorded the highest mortality of 100.00 per cent at 72 hours after treatment (HAT), and the lowest LC50 value (0.328 ppm, fiducial limits: 0.144-0.515 ppm) and LT50 value (10.49 h, fiducial limits: 5.444-14.551 h), followed by Thiamethoxam 12.60% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC, Thiacloprid 21.7% SC, and Bifenthrin 10% EC. The results showed that the Clothianidin 50% WDG and Thiamethoxam 12.60% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC, were highly effective, with the lowest LC50 and LT50 values. Since TMB occurs from new flushing to fruiting stage of guava, a minimum of two sprays are mandatory to have quality fruit yield. Hence, application of Clothianidin 50% WDG followed by Thiamethoxam 12.60% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC on need basis will help to reduce the impact of TMB on guava
Green tea polyphenols in cardiometabolic health: A critical appraisal on phytogenomics towards personalized green tea
Cardiovascular disease is a chronic multifactorial health complication that is either directly or indirectly associated with pathophysiological mechanisms, including pro-oxidation, pro-inflammation, vascular and endothelial dysfunction, impaired platelet function, thrombosis, and others. The therapeutic options to circumvent cardiovascular complications include several phytomedicines, including green tea polyphenols. However, while many experimental and clinical studies report distinct mechanisms by which the polyphenols of green tea elicit a beneficial role in cardiometabolic health, the translation and applications of green tea polyphenols in clinics have yet to gain their optimal use on the broader population. This review critically appraises the various reported mechanisms of green tea polyphenols in modulating cardio-metabolic health and associated phyto-genomic challenges. Further, our review highlights the probability of gene polymorphic associated therapeutic variations in individuals using green tea for cardio-metabolic effects and the necessity to personalize green tea for clinical use, thereby improvising the risk-benefit ratio
