    Get PDF
This paper includes comparative analysis of the environmental, energetic, and financial costs of different bus propulsion, possibly applied on the public transport in the city of Belgrade. It considers the modern diesel bus, the trolleybus, the natural gas bus with the spark ignition engine, the electric bus using LiFePO4 battery, and the electric bus with ultra-capacitor. The results are presented according to the real data and the real electro-energetic situation in Serbia, with the dominantly used lignite coal as primary fuel. This model gives the exact exhaust emission of electric vehicles at the thermal power plant, enables its comparison to the internal combustion engine vehicles. The result in analysis shows that the natural gas bus is the most cost efficient in economical way with overall exploitation price of $87 per 100 km. The trolleybus is more economical then the natural gas powered bus only at high departures rate, higher than 230 per workday

Dipole representation of half-filled Landau level

We introduce a variant of dipole representation for composite fermions in a half-filled Landau level, taking into account the symmetry under exchange of particles and holes. This is implemented by a special constraint on composite fermion and composite hole degree of freedom (of an enlarged space), that makes the resulting composite particle, dipole, a symmetric object. We study an effective Hamiltonian, that commutes with the constraint on the physical space, and fulfills the requirement for boost invariance on the Fermi level. The calculated Fermi liquid parameter F2 is in a good agreement with numerical investigations in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 121, 147601 (2018)].Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure

Some extinct plant taxa on the territory of Novi Sad and their vulnerability status in Vojvodina and Serbia

    Get PDF
Natural habitats on the territory of Novi Sad are almost fully destroyed today, as well as their characteristic plant taxa. The reason for disappearance of natural habitats is the development of suburban communities, which is an irreversible process. Plant taxa, specific for wet, salty, and sandy ecosystems grew on those habitats twenty years ago and earlier. This paper presents the overview of 9 taxa (Suaeda maritima subsp. maritima, Androsace elongata subsp. elongata, Cirsium boujartii subsp. boujartii, Aster sedifolius subsp. canus, Blackstonia perfoliata subsp. serotina, Plantago maritima subsp. maritima, Salvia nutans, Allium angulosum, and Typha schuttleworthii). These taxa presented integral parts of autochthonous flora of Novi Sad. Since some of these taxa were found in the field 21 years ago and some even 93 years ago, they are extinct from the flora of Novi Sad

An open architecture control system for multi‐axis wood CNC machining center

    Get PDF
Abstract: This paper presents an open architecture control system for multi‐axis wood computer numerical control (CNC) milling machining centre, based on LinuxCNC. The wood CNC machining system is supported by an equivalent virtual machine in a CAD/CAM environment, as well as in the control system. Simulation within virtual environment is essential for multi‐axis machining, and the developed virtual machines are used for program verification and monitoring of the machining process. The virtual machine in the programming system allows the verification of the program before it’s sent to the actual machine, while the virtual machine in the control system represents the final verification of the program, as well as the process monitoring system. Configuration of the control system and implementation of virtual machines will be shown, along with the conducted machining experiments that ensued after the successful simulation on developed virtual machines

The concept of beauty in German ballads

U ovom radu istražuje se problem odnosa nemačke umetničke balade prema novovekovnim estetičkim konceptima. Tokom razvojne istorije žanra, od druge polovine 18. veka do danas, balada pokazuje sklonost ka tematizovanju pitanja umetnosti i umetnika, odnosno, u skladu sa konceptom lepih umetnosti, dominantnim gotovo do polovine 20. veka, reflektuje pitanje odnosa umetnosti i stvarnosti i ulogu lepote u njima. Uz nelepe i stresne, bolne, strahotne i tragične događaje, lepo i lepota, u ljudskom liku ili u umetničkoj tvorevini, zauzimaju centralno mesto u velikom broju balada. U skladu sa modelom Hartmuta Laufhitea iz 1991, kako ga je 2006. godine pojasnio i dopunio Srdan Bogosavljević, u okvirima ovog istraživanja baladu razumemo kao...This doctoral dissertation examines the relation of German artistic ballads to the modern aesthetic concepts. During the historical development of the genre, starting from the second half of the 18th century up until modern day, ballad tends to make the art and artist the subject of discussion. In accordance with the concept of the fine arts, which was dominant roughly until the middle of the 20th century, ballad reflects the relation of art to reality, as well as the role of beauty in them both individually. Ballad, as a genre, is based on a tragic experience, turn of the destiny or death, one or a whole string of unfortunate, mostly unexplained and unexplainable events that lead to the tragic loss of life or an ideal which makes life worth of living. Aside from unpleasant, stressful, painful, dreadful and tragic events, beauty and the beautiful – in human form or in a work of art – take the central place in numerous ballads. That is the starting point of this research: the fact that beauty and the beautiful in German artistic ballads stand side by side with the tragedy of human existence. Thus, the main objective of this research is to determine how beauty can be found in tragedy, how that which is beautiful can accompany that which is tragic. The main question of this work is, which concept of beauty does German ballad confront or presuppose to the tragic human existence on earth? Considering the fact that beauty in ballad appears as an aesthetic and ethic category, the hypothesis of this research is that there is no unique aesthetic concept favored in ballad, but rather that the concept changes according to contemporary taste. From the perspective of diachrony, it is possible to speak about the concepts of beauty in ballad, which are directly related to the aesthetic point of view of the author and the time period in which he or she lived, or even considered more broadly – to the concept of reality, the implied metaphysical, idealistic, existential, and materialistic or other concepts of human existence in the world. The second chapter of this work focuses on the theoretical and historical consideration of ballad as a literary genre, based on previous research, which received a fresh impetus at the end of the 20th century. Conclusions are presented from the..

Critical behavior of loops and biconnected clusters on fractals of dimension d < 2

We solve the O(n) model, defined in terms of self- and mutually avoiding loops coexisting with voids, on a 3-simplex fractal lattice, using an exact real space renormalization group technique. As the density of voids is decreased, the model shows a critical point, and for even lower densities of voids, there is a dense phase showing power-law correlations, with critical exponents that depend on n, but are independent of density. At n=-2 on the dilute branch, a trivalent vertex defect acts as a marginal perturbation. We define a model of biconnected clusters which allows for a finite density of such vertices. As n is varied, we get a line of critical points of this generalized model, emanating from the point of marginality in the original loop model. We also study another perturbation of adding local bending rigidity to the loop model, and find that it does not affect the universality class.Comment: 14 pages,10 figure
