Stochastic field theory for a Dirac particle propagating in gauge field disorder

    Get PDF
Recent theoretical and numerical developments show analogies between quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and disordered systems in condensed matter physics. We study the spectral fluctuations of a Dirac particle propagating in a finite four dimensional box in the presence of gauge fields. We construct a model which combines Efetov's approach to disordered systems with the principles of chiral symmetry and QCD. To this end, the gauge fields are replaced with a stochastic white noise potential, the gauge field disorder. Effective supersymmetric non-linear sigma-models are obtained. Spontaneous breaking of supersymmetry is found. We rigorously derive the equivalent of the Thouless energy in QCD. Connections to other low-energy effective theories, in particular the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model and chiral perturbation theory, are found.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

Superpartner Solutions of a BPS Monopole in Noncommutative Space

    Get PDF
We construct U(2) BPS monopole superpartner solutions in N=2 non-commutative super Yang-Mills theory. Calculation to the second order in the noncommutative parameter Ξ\theta shows that there is no electric quadrupole moment that is expected from the magnetic dipole structure of noncommtative U(2) monopole. This might give an example of the nature of how supersymmetry works not changing between the commutative and noncommutative theories.Comment: 8 page

The massless gravitino and the AdS/CFT correspondence

    Get PDF
We solve the Dirichlet boundary value problem for the massless gravitino on AdSd+1AdS_{d+1} space and compute the two-point function of the dual CFT supersymmetry currents using the AdSAdS/CFT correspondence principle. We find analogously to the spinor case that the boundary data for the massless (d+1)(d+1) dimensional bulk gravitino field consists of only a (d−1)(d-1) dimensional gravitino.Comment: 10 pages, RevTe

Calorons and localization of quark eigenvectors in lattice QCD

    Get PDF
We analyze the localization properties for eigenvectors of the Dirac operator in quenched lattice QCD in the vicinity of the deconfinement phase transition. Studying the characteristic differences between the Z_3 sectors above the critical temperature T_c, we find indications for the presence of calorons.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

Higher Spins in AdS and Twistorial Holography

    Get PDF
In this paper we simplify and extend previous work on three-point functions in Vasiliev's higher spin gauge theory in AdS4. We work in a gauge in which the space-time dependence of Vasiliev's master fields is gauged away completely, leaving only the internal twistor-like variables. The correlation functions of boundary operators can be easily computed in this gauge. We find complete agreement of the tree level three point functions of higher spin currents in Vasiliev's theory with the conjectured dual free O(N) vector theory.Comment: 23 pages. v3: minor errors fixed, added comments and reference
