    Addressing the Stigma Associated with Antiquated Blood Donation Policies and Donor Eligibility for MSM

    The crises of blood product shortages pose real health risks and threats to the greater population in the United States (U.S.). Current U.S. blood donation policies continue to restrict or limit donations from willing and healthy individuals on the basis of sex, classified as men who have sex with men (MSM). This essay explores the historical progression of the current blood donation policy through the lens of enacted stigmatization and stigma consciousness for MSM, identifies implications of the current policy, explores the impact of the current policy and proposed changes, and calls for action to modernize the current blood donation policies that create unwarranted discrimination. This paper focuses contextually on the national issue with a specific focus on the state of Georgia

    A Comparative Analysis of the Employment of Business Faculty With Ph.D.s and Those With D.B.A.s at Colleges and Universities in the University System of Georgia

    Although the Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees are classified as professional degrees and research degrees respectively, several institutions market the D.B.A. as a degree that prepares graduates for careers in higher education. The present study is a secondary analysis of publicly available data pertaining to faculty education in certain business disciplines within the 26 colleges and universities in the University System of Georgia. The analysis indicated that of the 368 full-time faculty in the selected business disciplines, 32 held D.B.A.s while 336 held Ph.Ds. Results indicated that while the D.B.A. is a viable degree for those wishing to have a career as higher education faculty, the Ph.D. is still considered the preferred credential

    Management of human capital through the use of performance management systems and performance improvement plans is of the utmost importance to managers. Employees are the most valuable assets companies possess. Effective management of human capital can have a direct impact on individual and team performance, as well as the success of the business. This paper focuses on the use of the performance improvement plan and its impact on employee performance outside of the progressive disciplinary process. In this paper, we review the existing literature on human capital and performance improvement plans, and make managerial recommendations for the use of performance improvement plans going forward

    We study the classical Euclidean wormhole solutions for the gravitational systems with minimally coupled pure Phantom field and minimally coupled Phantom field accompanied by perfect fluid.     Recurrence properties of hypercyclic operators

    [EN] We generalize the notions of hypercyclic operators, U-frequently hypercyclic operators and frequently hypercyclic operators by introducing a new concept in linear dynamics, namely A-hypercyclicity. We then state an A-hypercyclicity criterion, inspired by the hypercyclicity criterion and the frequent hypercyclicity criterion, and we show that this criterion characterizes the A-hypercyclicity for weighted shifts.     Enacted Stigmatization and Stigma Consciousness of Female Physicians: Exploring the Potential Impact on Choice of Medical Specialty

    The present study explores the pervasive discrimination and gender inequities of female physicians in male-dominated medical specialties through the lens of enacted stigmatization and stigma consciousness. While existing literature on both of these topics is robust, there is a gap in the literature exploring the overlapping relationships of these factors. We seek to establish a theoretical foundation for these constructs as depicted by our model and two central propositions in which the relationships of stigmatization and stigma consciousness impact career choice based on gender. The implications of this issue and directions for future research are identified and discussed
