    On reductions of soliton solutions of multi-component NLS models and spinor Bose-Einstein condensates

    We consider a class of multicomponent nonlinear Schrodinger equations (MNLS) related to the symmetric BD.I-type symmetric spaces. As important particular case of these MNLS we obtain the Kulish-Sklyanin model. Some new reductions and their effects on the soliton solutions are obtained by proper modifying the Zakahrov-Shabat dressing method.Comment: AIP AMiTaNS'09 Proceedings

    This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of place atmosphere on behavioral intentions with the mediating effect of service quality and food quality at Point Coffee Semarang. The data source used in this research is primary data. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with the type of convenience sampling. The level measurement used is the interval level. This research was processed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of AMOS 22 software. The results showed that the atmosphere had a positive effect on service quality and food quality, service quality and food quality also had a positive effect on behavioral intentions, and atmosphere had a positive effect on behavioral intentions. The atmosphere also has a positive effect on behavioral intentions through the mediation of service quality and food quality. The role of service quality and food quality is a partial mediator.     From random to rational: improving enzyme design through electric fields, second coordination sphere interactions, and conformational dynamics

    Enzymes are versatile and efficient biological catalysts that drive numerous cellular processes, motivating the development of enzyme design approaches to tailor catalysts for diverse applications. In this perspective, we investigate the unique properties of natural, evolved, and designed enzymes, recognizing their strengths and shortcomings. We highlight the challenges and limitations of current enzyme design protocols, with a particular focus on their limited consideration of long-range electrostatic and dynamic effects. We then delve deeper into the impact of the protein environment on enzyme catalysis and explore the roles of preorganized electric fields, second coordination sphere interactions, and protein dynamics for enzyme function. Furthermore, we present several case studies illustrating successful enzyme-design efforts incorporating enzyme strategies mentioned above to achieve improved catalytic properties. Finally, we envision the future of enzyme design research, spotlighting the challenges yet to be overcome and the synergy of intrinsic electric fields, second coordination sphere interactions, and conformational dynamics to push the state-of-the-art boundaries

    FASTRA – SAFE AND SECURE

    The innovative congestion control algorithm named FASTRA (Fast Active Stability TCP) is aimed for high-speed long-latency networks. Four major difficulties in FASTRA are highlighted at both packet and flow levels. The architecture and characterization of equilibrium and stability properties of FASTRA are robust. Experimental results of FASTRA outsmart TCP Reno, HSTCP, and STCP in terms of throughput, fairness, stability, and responsiveness. FASTRA aims to rapidly stabilize high-speed long-latency networks into steady, efficient and fair operating points, in dynamic sharing environments, and the preliminary results are produced as output of our project. The Proposed architecture is explained with the help of an existing real-time example as to explain why FASTRA download is chosen rather than FTP download. The Paper is concluded with the results of the new congestion control algorithm aided with the graphs obtained during its simulation in NS2. On proper implementation, many safe, FASTRA downloads and data transfers can be carried over a high speed internet network

    A NuRD Complex from Xenopus laevis Eggs Is Essential for DNA Replication during Early Embryogenesis.

    DNA replication in the embryo of Xenopus laevis changes dramatically at the mid-blastula transition (MBT), with Y RNA-independent random initiation switching to Y RNA-dependent initiation at specific origins. Here, we identify xNuRD, an MTA2-containing assemblage of the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylation complex NuRD, as an essential factor in pre-MBT Xenopus embryos that overcomes a functional requirement for Y RNAs during DNA replication. Human NuRD complexes have a different subunit composition than xNuRD and do not support Y RNA-independent initiation of DNA replication. Blocking or immunodepletion of xNuRD inhibits DNA replication initiation in isolated nuclei in vitro and causes inhibition of DNA synthesis, developmental delay, and embryonic lethality in early embryos. xNuRD activity declines after the MBT, coinciding with dissociation of the complex and emergence of Y RNA-dependent initiation. Our data thus reveal an essential role for a NuRD complex as a DNA replication factor during early Xenopus development

    A Study to Validate a Self-Reported Version of the ONS Drug Dependence Questionnaire

    Aim: A prospective study to establish the reliability of a self-completion version of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) questionnaire for assessing drug dependence of substance misuse clients. Method: A total of 47 treatment seeking opioid-dependent clients completed the self-complete version of the ONS questionnaire (ONS-sc) followed by the interviewer-administered ONS questionnaire (ONS-ia) at a single clinic appointment. Scores for four Class A drugs (heroin, methadone, speed and crack/cocaine) from both formats were compared. Results: The observed agreement was 87% or more and Cohen's kappa was 0.7 (p < 0.001) or more for all four Class A drugs. Sensitivity for each Class A drugs was 56% or higher and specificity was 87% or higher. Sensitivity for severe heroin dependency was 98% (CI 89–100%). There was a 100% correlation between the ONS-sc and positive urine analysis for heroin use. However, methadone and crack/cocaine drug use appeared under reported. Conclusion: ONS-sc is a feasible, practical and time-saving alternative to a detailed interview on drug dependence. Further research with a larger sample size and non-opiate-dependent clients are needed, as this could prove a useful tool for monitoring clients in everyday practice, or for survey purposes where interviews are impractical

    Capacity Behaviour using WSDV Scheme over WiMAX

    The objective of this project is to create Mobile Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) for 4th generation mobile wireless networks in which it is foreseen that mobile Television (TV) services will reproduce rapidly. In television applications are bandwidth hogs that cause a challenging capacity problem in wireless networks. To address this challenge, a novel scheme for mobile Television services over WiMAX network, called the Wireless Switched Digital Video (WSDV) scheme, is proposed. Compared with the conventional broadcast or unicast schemes, the hybrid approach introduced in the proposed WSDV approach exploits the merits of two conventional schemes and mitigates their demerits, which enables it to increase wireless capacity for mobile Television services. The analytical model can capture the details of WiMAX resource allocation and take into consideration the popularity of the mobile Television contents being viewed by users enabling it to provide an accurate estimate of the amount of bandwidth required for WiMAX TV services and also enabling a designer to optimally select the number of channels via the WSDV service while meeting a desired level of blocking probability. The proposed optimized scheme outperforms the conventional schemes with respect to blocking probability. Finally, an end-to-end solution to the WSDV scheme is also presented
