    Design of Hybrid Network Anomalies Detection System (H-NADS) Using IP Gray Space Analysis

    In Network Security, there is a major issue to secure the public or private network from abnormal users. It is because each network is made up of users, services and computers with a specific behavior that is also called as heterogeneous system. To detect abnormal users, anomaly detection system (ADS) is used. In this paper, we present a novel and hybrid Anomaly Detection System with the uses of IP gray space analysis and dominant scanning port identification heuristics used to detect various anomalous users with their potential behaviors. This methodology is the combination of both statistical and rule based anomaly detection which detects five types of anomalies with their three types of potential behaviors and generates respective alarm messages to GUI.Network Security, Anomaly Detection, Suspicious Behaviors Detection

    Power cables are constantly subjected to thermal, electrical and mechanical stresses during their service life which leads to ageing of the insulation material. Ageing of the insulation means that the insulator degrades or gets older. When the insulation is degraded it does not have the same physical properties as compared to the new cables, which basically means that the risk of failure has been increased. So, it is necessary to carry out a diagnostic test to resolve the possible problem that may occur in cable insulation so that precautionary action can be taken to avoid unnecessary in-service failure of the underground cable [1]. Dissipation factor or tangent delta measurement in either time or frequency domain are used to identify water tree degraded XLPE cables with high moisture content or moisture ingression through poor jointing, diagnostic tests based on [2], [3]. In practice, standard laboratory electrical test equipment utilizing power frequency (PF) i.e. 50Hz to 60Hz testing is used. Hence, large static transformer was installed in the laboratory to cater any large capacitance test sample for high voltage testing. These existing tangent delta diagnostic test methods are bulk assessment technique that cannot sectionalize or pin point the water tree or any other conductive defect. In addition, both this tangent delta measurement technique which utilizes standard 0.1Hz and 50Hz equipment is not capable to extract the tangent delta values of accessories from the bulk assessment. It can only diagnose the overall condition of the complete cable system that includes cable, joints and terminations. Since medium voltage underground (MVUG) cables in utilities are in service for many years, it is crucial to develop a method to sectionalize or identify the defective components

    Today’s need of this modern world is to introduce the renewable, sustainable, pollution free and an efficient energy sources. In this paper, some fundamental investigations are demonstrated for generating an electrical energy from living plants like Aloe Vera. The energy is generated by embedding the electrodes and cells into the plant to allow flow of ions using redox reaction. Here multiple tests have been conducted using different type of electrodes, cells and plants as an attempt to determine the characteristics of the generating system. Though the research work in this field is in infancy, we were able to produce the potential difference of about 1.221V using single pair of electrode and cell. Such hypothesis has been tested at different time of the day and different seasons of the year. Also, lots of new types of materials has been tested and used in combination to give better performance for the development of such a green energy.     Background: Advanced maternal age, generally signify age after 35 years at the time of delivery. It is associated with decreased fertility and increased risk.Methods: This was a prospective study conducted in Kamla Raja Hospital, G.R. Medical College, Gwalior (M.P.) during the period of one year from July 2015 to June 2016.  Pregnant women aged 35 years and older at the time of delivery were selected and analyzed for maternal and perinatal outcome.Results: A total no. of 288 elderly pregnant patients were selected for the study. Most of the cases were in the age group 35 to 39 years (89.93%). Multi gravida (71.8%) and grand multi para (22.22%) constituted the largest group. Most of the cases belong to lower socio-economic status (90%). Percentage of unbooked cases was 82.98%. The causes of delay in pregnancy were preference for male child (23.95%) and unwareness of contraception (21.52%). The incidence of diabetes mellitus and chronic hypertension were increased. Overall cesarean rate was increased (35%). Incidence of abortions 28(9.72%), preterm delivery 18(6.25%), oligohydramnios 18(6.25%), APH 18(6.25%) and PROM 17(5.90%), low birth weight baby 30(13.19%), NICU admission 20 (6.94%), IUGR 11(3.81%) all were high. The preference for male child 69(23.95%) and lack of awareness 62(21.52%) were two major reason for continuing pregnancies and deliveries till late age.Conclusions: The present study showed that pregnancy at advanced age is a higher risk pregnancy in term of increased maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality

    Screening of poly vinyl chloride degrading bacteria from plastic contaminated area of Baddi

    Plastic wastes are posing ever increasing environmental concerns. Recent research works have shown that most of the constituents of plastics can be degraded by microbes and the film plastics can be treated by microbial systems. In this study, poly vinyl chloride (PVC), degrading bacteria’s were isolate and characterize from soil dumped with plastics. The PVC degradating bacterial were identified as E.Coli, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas and Klebsiella. It was observed that maximum degradation by Pseudomonas and degradation after 10 months was 40.53%, 23.06%, 10.92% and 5.32% for Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, Staphylococcus and E.Coli respectively.This work concluded that soil contains bacteria’s that have ability to carry degradation of poly vinyl chloride (PVC

    A comprehensive review on microbial degradation of plastic waste

    Plastic is a broad name given to different polymers with high molecular weight, which can be degraded by various processes. However, considering their abundance in the environment and their specificity in attacking plastics, biodegradation of plastics by microorganisms and enzymes seems to be the most effective process. When plastics are used as substrates for microorganisms, evaluation of their biodegradability should not only be based on their chemical structure, but also on their physical properties (melting point, glass transition temperature, crystallinity, storage modulus etc.). In this review, microbial and enzymatic biodegradation of plastics and some factors that affect their biodegradability are discussed. Plastics have become an important part of modern life and are used in different sectors of applications like packaging, building materials, consumer products and much more. Each year about 100 million tons of plastics are produced worldwide. Degradation is defined as reduction in the molecular weight of the polymer. The Degradation types are (a).
