Children independent learning development checklist 3-5 (Child 3-5): Validity and reliability study for the turkish form
The aim of this study is to investigate the psychometric properties of the Turkish Aadaptation of Children’s Independent Learning Development Checklist (CHILD 3-5), developed by (Whitebread et al., 2009) and colleagues for assessing young children’s self-regulated learning. Towards this aim, data were gathered from two different samples. In the first phase (N=252) item statistics and factor structure of the 22-item scale were explored and due to pyschometric problems, 6 items removed from further analysis. Psychometric properties of the new 16-item scale were tested in the second phase (N=197). Test-retest reliability of the scale was calculated as .961 and internal consistency for the scale was .968. For validity, difference between the upper 27% and lower 27% of the total group were calculated and significant difference was found between the two groups. Results showed that the Turkish form of CHILD 3-5 scale is a reliable and valid tool to be used for assessing young children’s self-regulated learning
Yumurtalık kanseri mikrodizin verisinin analizleri ve modellemesi
Ovarian cancer is one of the common cancer types among other oncological diseases. The major causes of this cancer can be listed as age, obesity, hormone therapy, material inheritance and contraceptive pills. Due to its generality and importance, many researches have been conducted from distinct labs about this illness and its plausible causes have been intensively investigated either inmicroarray studies, where just part of the related genes are detected, or in thepairwise correlation analyses between the disease and selected symptoms via contingency tables. Hereby, in this study, we use an ovarian cancer microarray dataset and describe gene interactions in these data via two different modelling approaches, namely, Gaussian graphical model as a parametric model and artificial neural network as a nonparametric model. From these analyses, we evaluate certain findings biologically and then, compare the performance of the model accuracies in distinct accuracies measures by controlling the true network structures of selected genes. By this way, we aim to assess the performance of these two fundamental models by using this specific oncogene data.Thesis (M.S.) -- Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The relationship between clinical severity and outcome measures in patients with chronic venous insufficiency with or without leg ulcer
Purpose: To evaluate the relationship between clinical severity and functionality, sleep quality, depression, and quality of life (QoL) in patients with CVI with or without leg ulcers. Methods: A total of sixty patients with CVI were enrolled in the study. The patients were C2-6 according to the CEAP classification. All the patients were assessed with Venous Clinical Severity Score (VCSS) for clinical severity, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain, right and left lower limb (RLL and LLL) circumference measurements for edema, 6-min-walk test (6-MWT) for functional capacity, Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) for functionality, Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) for sleep quality, Beck Depression Inventory version I (BDI-I) for depression, and The Quality of Life Questionnaire for Chronic Venous Diseases-20 (CIVIQ-20) for QoL. Results: The mean age of the patients was 45.83 +/- 13.25 years, and the mean duration of disease was 8.30 +/- 7.42 years. There was a significant association between VCSS and VAS-rest/activity, edema-RLL/LLL, PSQI, BDI-I, LEFS, and CIVIQ-20 in patients without leg ulcers. In addition, a significant association was found between VCSS and VAS-rest/activity and CIVIQ-20 in patients with leg ulcers. Conclusion: The current study showed that an association has been found between clinical severity and pain at rest and during activity, edema, sleep quality, depression, lower extremity function, and QoL in patients without ulcers. However, clinical severity has been correlated with only pain at rest and during activity, and QoL in patients with leg ulcers
