    Search for HZZHZZ' couplings at the LHC

    New physics models predict the possibility of extra neutral gauge bosons (ZZ') associated with an extra U(1)U(1)' gauge symmetry. We study the couplings of the Higgs boson to the ZZ boson and ZZ' boson predicted by the new physics models. The couplings of the ZZ' boson to quarks can also be investigated through the ZqqˉZ'q\bar{q} interactions. The accessible ranges of the parameter space have been searched for processes ppHZXpp\rightarrow HZX and ppHHZXpp\rightarrow HHZX at the LHC with s=14\sqrt{s}=14 TeV.Comment: 10 pages, 10 figure

    Single production of excited electrons at future e^-e^+, ep and pp colliders

    We analyzed the potential of the LC with s=0.5\sqrt{s}=0.5 TeV, LC×\timesLHC based ep collider with s=3.74\sqrt{s}=3.74 TeV and LHC with s=14\sqrt{s}=14 TeV to search for excited electrons through transition magnetic type couplings with gauge bosons.     Pair Production of Fourth Family Charged Sleptons at e+ee^{+}e^{-} Colliders

    We study the pair production of l~4\tilde{l}_{4}, which is the supersymmetric partner of the fourth family charged lepton, at the e+ee^{+}e^{-} colliders.     Examining the effectiveness of mindfulness based training program on female handball players’ psychological skills and coping with stress strategies

    The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based training program on female handball athletes’ psychological skills and strategies to cope with stress in sport. In the study, as a quasi-experimental method, pre-test, and posttest models without a control group were used. The study group consists of 9 female handball players who play in the Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality Women's Handball Team. In the research, a personal information questionnaire, the Athletic Coping Skills Inventory and Coping Strategies in Sport Competition Inventory were used to collect data as pre-test before the program and as post-test at the end of the program. In the study, the Mindfulness-Based Training Program was implemented once a week as group training, consisting of 8 sessions lasted 60 minutes each. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used to test the significance of the scope difference. As a result of the study, after the program, there was a significant difference in terms of ability to cope with adversity, coachability, concentration, goal setting and mental preparation, and being free from worries. Moreover, a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores of the task-oriented coping dimension in Sport Competition Inventory was noted.No sponso

    Search for Top Quark FCNC Couplings in Z' Models at the LHC and CLIC

    The top quark is the heaviest particle to date discovered, with a mass close to the electroweak symmetry breaking scale. It is expected that the top quark would be sensitive to the new physics at the TeV scale. One of the most important aspects of the top quark physics can be the investigation of the possible anomalous couplings. Here, we study the top quark flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) couplings via the extra gauge boson Z' at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) energies. We calculate the total cross sections for the signal and the corresponding Standard Model (SM) background processes. For an FCNC mixing parameter x=0.2 and the sequential Z' mass of 1 TeV, we find the single top quark FCNC production cross sections 0.38(1.76) fb at the LHC with sqrt{s_{pp}}=7(14) TeV, respectively. For the resonance production of sequential Z' boson and decays to single top quark at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) energies, including the initial state radiation and beamstrahlung effects, we find the cross section 27.96(0.91) fb at sqrt{s_{e^{+}e^{-}}}=1(3) TeV, respectively. We make the analysis to investigate the parameter space (mixing-mass) through various Z' models. It is shown that the results benefit from the flavor tagging.Comment: 20 pages, 17 figures, 6 table

    Sedoanalgesia Administration with Propofol and Ketamine for Minor Urologic Interventions

    Aim: In this study we aimed to administer sedoanalgesia with propofol and ketamine combination in patients undergoing planned minor urologic interventions with limited anesthesia. By combining these two medications, lower doses may be used, and we aimed to provide sufficient sedation, analgesia and amnesia without disrupting hemodynamic and respiratory stability and to increase patient and surgeon satisfaction. Material-Method: The study included 53 patients with planned minor urologic interventions aged from 19 to 85 years and physical situation ASA I-III. After six hours starvation, patients were taken to the surgery. Patients were monitored for electrocardiography (ECG), oxygen saturation (SPO2 ) and non-invasive blood pressure. For use if necessary a nasal O2 cannula was inserted. A vein in the back of the left hand was opened and 5 ml/min isotonic sodium chloride infusion was begun. Patient heart rate (HR), systolic arterial pressure (SAP), diastolic arterial pressure (DAP), mean arterial pressure (MAP) and oxygen saturation (SpO2 ) values were measured and a 5 point sedation scale (Table 1) was used to measure sedation scores. Basal values were recorded (0 min). Later patients were randomly divided into two groups with Group I administered intraurethral lidocaine gel for local anesthesia by the surgeon, while Group II were administered intravenous 0.015 mg/kg midazolam, 0.5 mg/kg 1% ketamine and 0.5 mg/kg 1% propofol by the authors for sedoanalgesia. At five minute intervals the HR, SAP, DAP, MAP, SpO2 values and sedation scores were measured and recorded. Results: Statistical evaluation found a statistically significant increase in SAP, DAP and MAP values measured at the 5th minute in Group I patients compared to preoperative values. In Group I patients, when the heart rate measured in the 1st and 5th minutes are compared with preoperative values there was a statistically significant increase identified. In Group II patients, there was a statistically significant fall in SpO2 values in the 1st and 5th minutes compared with preoperative values. When patient and surgeon satisfaction are compared with Group I, Group II was found to be statistically significantly higher. Though the blood pressure and heart rate increases in Group I patients were statistically significant, they were not at levels that required clinical intervention and/or treatment. Similarly the SpO2 decrease observed in Group II patients did not fall below 90% in any patient in spite of being statistically significant and rose again without clinical intervention and/or treatment. Conclusion: In this study we showed that sedoanalgesia administration with propofol and ketamine may be an alternative method for patients undergoing minor urology interventions that does not disrupt hemodynamic and respiratory stability, does not delay patient discharge, has low side effect incidence and has high patient and surgeon satisfaction

    Fourth Generation Pseudoscalar Quarkonium Production and Observability at Hadron Colliders

    The pseudoscalar quarkonium state, eta_4 1^S_0, formed by the Standard Model (SM) fourth generation quarks, is the best candidate among the fourth generation quarkonia to be produced at the LHC and VLHC. Bu makalede, plastik yakıt tanklarının, statik ve dinamik analizlere dayalı, bilgisayar destekli, geliştime-tasarım projesinn bir kısmı sunulmuştur. Öncelikle, plastik malzemenin mekanik özelliklerini bulmaya yönelik kupon testleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Statik analizlerde yakıt tankına eşdeğer yükler uygulanmıştır. Dinamik analizler ise zamanla değişen yük, yakıt ve tankın atalaet momentleri göz önüne alınmış ve modal transient analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Statik analizlerde, eşdeğer statik yükleme yaklaşımı kullanılmaktadır. Yapılan dinamk analizlerde, akışkan akustik elemanlar kullanılarak modellenmiştir. Yakıt tankı farklı doluluk oranları için incelenerek karşılaştırılmış ve sonuçları bu bildiride paylaşılmıştır.Nowadays, the conventional metal fuel tanks used in buses are being replaced with plastic fuel tanks. In this paper, a part of the project which aims to develop a computer aided methodology for developing/designing of the plastic fuel tanks based on static and dynamic analysis is presented. Coupon tests are first conducted to acquire the mechanical properties of the plastic material. In the static analysis, equivalent static loads are applied to the fuel tanks. In the dynamic analysis, the time varying loading and the inertia of the fluid and fuel tanks are taken into account using modal transient analysis. Fluid which is in the tank is modeled with acoustic approach in dynamic analysis. In this paper, different fullness ratios of the fuel tank are investigated and both results are compared each other

    Anomalous Wtb Coupling in ep Collision

    The potential of ep collision to prospect for anomalous Wtb vertex is discussed from the single top quark production process eptνˉ+Xep\to t\bar{\nu}+X for TESLA+HERAp and CLIC+LHC energies. Sensitivities to anomalous couplings F2LF_{2L} and F2RF_{2R}, in the case of CLIC+LHC, are shown to be comparable with LHC.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure
