    Get PDF
Subject of Research. This paper presents an application of wavelet transformation and bent-functions in the creation of non-linear robust codes. The usage of wavelet decompositions gives the possibility to create a large number of different designs of robust codes. Method. To improve the non-linear properties of robust codes, bent-functions were used in the construction. Thereby the maximum non-linearity of functions is ensured increasing the probability of detecting an error in the data channel. Different designs of codes based on wavelet transform and bent-functions are developed. The difference of constructions consists in the usage of different grids for wavelet transformation: a grid with static values, or a grid based on an incoming information word. The existing linear and non-linear codes were analyzed, their comparison with the developed codes was performed.Main Results. The developed designs are robust codes and have higher characteristics compared to existing designs of robust codes. The maximum probability of the error masking for the developed designs is 0.46875. This result is a better one compared to the existing reliable Kerdock code and enables better protection against side-channel attacks. Practical Relevance. These code designs can be used in the tasks to ensure the security of information transmitte

Adverse reactions of high-osmolar and low-osmolar radiographic contrast media in clinical practice

Introduction. Adverse drug reactions (ADR) to administration of radiographic contrast media (RCM) are observed in 10–20 % of patients. Individual tolerability of drugs is affected by RCM properties (ionicity, osmolarity). Aim. Evaluation of ADR in patients during diagnostic studies using high- and low-osmolar RCM. Methods. Analysis of 52 reports of adverse reactions to RCM registered in medical organizations of Voronezh region in 2014–2021 was performed. Group 1 included 21 patients with ADR to high-osmolar RCM (sodium amidotrizoate, yoxitalamic acid), group 2–31 patients with ADR to low-osmolar drugs (yogexol, yopromide, yopamidol, yoversol). Results. Age of patients is 6–82 years, median 48.5 years, children β€” 8 persons (15.4 %), women β€” 31 patients (59.6 %), serious reactions β€” 28 (53.8 %). Since 2017 there has been an increase in the number of ADRs with constant frequency of serious reactions. In 2020–2021 ADRs to low-osmolar drugs were mainly registered. Life-threatening conditions (anaphylactic shock, arterial hypotension, arrhythmia) were observed in 70.2 % of group 2, in 28.6 % of group 1 (p=0.007). One patient with initial renal dysfunction and comorbid pathology was reported to develop nephrotoxicity to yogexol. Pharmacological correction was performed in 92.3 % of cases. In 57.7 % of the patients ADR ended in recovery, in the Β other cases β€” state improvement. Conclusion. Side effects of high-osmolar and low-osmolar RCM mainly had form of hyperergic reactions of immediate type and were reversible. High frequency of serious reactions to lowosmolar RCM against an increase in their use requires a more careful selection of patients for X-ray contrast studies

Autism and nutrition: the role of the gut–brain axis

    Get PDF
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterised by deficits in the ability to socialise, communicate and use imagination, and displays of stereotypical behaviour. It is widely accepted that ASD involves a disorder in brain development. However, the real causes of the neurodevelopmental disorders associated with ASD are not clear. In this respect, it has been found that a majority of children with ASD display gastrointestinal symptoms, and an increased intestinal permeability. Moreover, large differences in microbiotic composition between ASD patients and controls have been reported. Therefore, nutrition-related factors have been hypothesised to play a causal role in the aetiology of ASD and its symptoms. Through a review of the literature, it was found that abnormalities in carbohydrate digestion and absorption could explain some of the gastrointestinal problems observed in a subset of ASD patients, although their role in the neurological and behavioural problems remains uncertain. In addition, the relationship between an improved gut health and a reduction of symptoms in some patients was evaluated. Recent trials involving gluten-free diets, casein-free diets, and pre- and probiotic, and multivitamin supplementation show contradictive but promising results. It can be concluded that nutrition and other environmental influences might trigger an unstable base of genetic predisposition, which may lead to the development of autism, at least in a subset of ASD patients. Clear directions for further research to improve diagnosis and treatment for the different subsets of the disorder are provided

One hundred and eighteen bronchial asthma (BA) patients were examined by means of the Toronto alexithymie scale (TAS), and a brief version of the personality multilateral investigation method (PMIM), and the Spilberg-Khanin’s anxiety scale. Among them 55.1% of the patients were recognized as alexithymie persons. Asthmatic patients with alexithymia were reliably more neurotized compared with non-alexithymic ones. The revealed peculiarities of an actual personal condition of the alexithymie bronchial asthma patients cause a necessity of including methods of psychotherapeutic correction of alexithymia to a prevention measures system. Robust Code Constructions Based on Bent Functions and Spline Wavelet Decomposition

    No full text
The paper investigates new robust code constructions based on bent functions and spline–wavelet transformation. Implementation of bent functions in code construction increases the probability of error detection in the data channel and cryptographic devices. Meanwhile, the use of spline wavelet theory for constructing the codes gives the possibility to increase system security from the actions of an attacker. Presented constructions combine spline-wavelets functions and bent functions. Developed robust codes, compared to existing ones, have a higher parameter of the maximum error masking probability. Illustrated codes ensure the security of transmitted information. Some of the granted constructions were implemented on FPGA

Research of properties changes and surface microstructure film binders on modifications mixture of fullerenes

Changes of properties and structure of styrene-acryl film-forming polymer are investigated at its modification by a mix of carbon fullerenes. The interrelation between change of a superficial tension of solutions of polymer and change of a roughness of a surface of the cured films at modification is found. Physic-mechanical properties of new composition of mastic for processing of a surface of metalwork are defined. Recommendations are developed and practical approbation of finished goods for sealing of seams of construction designs is carried out
