Close range mini Uavs photogrammetry for architecture survey

    Get PDF
The survey of historical façades contains several bottlenecks, mainly related to the geometrical structure, the decorative framework, the presence of natural or artificial obstacles, the environment limitations. Urban context presents additional restrictions, binding by ground acquisition activity and leading to building data loss. The integration of TLS and close-range photogrammetry allows to go over such stuff, not overcoming the shadows effect due to the ground point of view. In the last year the massive use of UAVs in survey activity has permitted to enlarge survey capabilities, reaching a deeper knowledge in the architecture analysis. In the meanwhile, several behaviour rules have been introduced in different countries, regulating the UAVs use in different field, strongly restricting their application in urban areas. Recently very small and light platforms have been presented, which can partially overcome these rules restrictions, opening to very interesting future scenarios. This article presents the application of one of these very small RPAS (less than 300 g), equipped with a low-cost camera, in a close range photogrammetric survey of an historical building façade in Bologna (Italy). The suggested analysis tries to point out the system accuracy and details acquisition capacity. The final aim of the paper is to validate the application of this new platform in an architectonic survey pipeline, widening the future application of close-range photogrammetry in the architecture acquisition process

The perception of the illness and the self-efficacy in the management of emotions in cardiac patients

    Get PDF
Cardiac rehabilitation is the sum of psychological, physical and social treatments that are offered to cardiac patients to maintain or regain an active position in society. This study wants to evaluate changes in the perception of the illness and in the self-efficacy of the management of positive and negative emotions in patients who went through cardiac rehabilitation. Sixty-seven patients (20 females, 47 males) were selected within the cardiac rehabilitation unit in the Hospital of Cittadella (Italy). Illness Perception Questionnaire - revised version and the Scale for the self-efficacy of the management of positive and negative emotions were submitted at the beginning and at the end of the rehabilitation program. One-way analyses-of-variance were performed to evaluate different answers in questionnaires between pre- and post-evaluation, and to explore gender differences. A significant change was found in the perception of duration of illness, perceived as permanent and longer after the cardiac rehabilitation program. Furthermore, at the end of the cardiac rehabilitation program men perceived the illness more chronic than women, even if they are less worried and anxious. Intensive cardiac rehabilitation has a great emotional impact on cardiac patients, influencing their perception and management of the illness. Working on emotions, through psychological groups, helps patients change their beliefs by offering them a different perspective to approach the illness

Nowadays, the early prevention of obesity in childhood is one of the most critical public health issues. More than half of children and adolescents worldwide do not meet the recommendation of 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day. This trend can reduce physical fitness and, consequently, cause a decrease in the quality of life throughout the lifespan. Physical fitness, defined as a set of abilities to perform physical activity and exercise (such as aerobic capacity, endurance, strength, flexibility), is considered one of the most important health markers in adulthood and childhood as well as adolescence. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the physical fitness of pre-adolescent children of the Emilia-Romagna region. Children’s anthropometric parameters (height and weight) and physical fitness levels - assessed via the EUROFIT test battery - were measured. In all of the applied EUROFIT tests, children’s performance was below the sucient age and gender values. Moreover, it was negatively associated with obesity. Our research provided evidence that the general fitness of our sample was low and the performance of overweight/obese children was lower compared to the under/normal weight students

This research aims to study the perception of parenting with multiproblem families. Through semi-structured interview, we sought to analyze the interpretation of this concept and its experience, to identify parental practice areas, roles and dimensions, to recognize the required skills for its practice, and to ascertain the determining factors of parenting. Fourteen mothers and one father, aged 21 to 77, took part in the study. The results were analyzed by means of qualitative content analysis, which revealed parenting is perceived by multiproblem families as a complex task that requires the compliance of tasks, regarding to satisfy children needs as care, love, affection, attention and support, which are important in a minimally adequate parenting

Oxymycterus wayku Jayat, D’Elía, Pardinãs, Miotti & Ortiz, 2008, a rodent species recently described, is known in only four localities within the Subtropical Mountain Forests of the Yungas eco-region in Tucumán, northwestern Argentina. Specimens were recorded in an owl pellet sample during a recent survey. This record represents the first for Oxymycterus in Catamarca Province, extending approximately 60 km south its southern distribution in the region. Sixteen other small non-volant mammal species were recorded there, turning this area into one of the most diverse for this understudied group in Argentina.Fil: D'hiriart, Sofia. Comparison Between 18650 Lithium-ion Cells of Different Composition Subjected to Thermal Abuse

Lithium-ion Batteries (LIBs) are characterized by high energy and power density and long life and are currently used in many applications from portable devices to energy storage systems. These features increase safety concerns, especially when these devices are subject to thermal, mechanical, or electrical abuse. Abuse can lead to exothermic reactions of cell components and with each other, causing a rapid increase in temperature, called Thermal Runaway (TR), and pressure. The response to abuse depends on the physical-chemical characteristics of Li-ion cells, such as chemical composition and State of Charge (SOC). To study the effect of chemical composition, three different 18650 Li-ion cells were tested, i.e., Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO), Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminium Oxide (NCA), at the same SOC (100 %). The cells were subjected to thermal abuse tests in a tubular reactor connected at the output to an online Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). All events, i.e., Current Interrupt Device (CID) activation, venting and TR, were recorded, and the gases emitted were traced back to the reactions that take place inside the cell. By comparing the response of the cells with different composition it was found that onset of TR occurs at lower temperature for NCA than the other cells (207 vs 233-234 °C), but the maximum temperature reached during TR by the NCA is higher (579 vs 310-338 °C). Regarding toxic emissions, for all three cells the values of hydrofluoric acid (HF) and carbon monoxide (CO) significantly exceed the Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health Limit (IDHL) defined by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health set at 30 ppm for HF and 1200 ppm for CO in 30 min, with maximum concentration of HF between 824 - 893 ppm and the maximum concentration of CO changing according to the chemistries: 231990 ppm for NCA, 140728 ppm for LTO and 97140 ppm for LFP
