Promoting Freedom Through Problem-Based Learning

Problem-based learning (PBL) is an instructional tool for encouraging active thinking about realistic problems and making sense of them through multiple content-focused lenses. It also has the power to bring faculty together in support of academic and social goals for students. Using a case-study approach, we share the story of a rural school district’s faculty and administrators who decided to implement a school-wide, week-long PBL activity. We focus on the social studies component of the PBL activity, describing the initial decisions teachers made to create this project, the planning teachers completed throughout the semester leading up to it, and students’ experiences across the week of PBL. Finally, we share suggestions about how other teachers and school districts can leverage PBL instruction in support of the New Ohio Learning Standards (ONLS) for social studies

Perikarditis im Rahmen rheumatologischer Erkrankungen – Was der Rheumatologe wissen sollte

Pericarditis is the term for inflammatory involvement of the pericardium, which can be associated with pericardial effusion and myocardial involvement (perimyocarditis). Pericarditis can be present in the context of systemic inflammatory rheumatic diseases but can also constitute a distinct disease entity. Idiopathic recurrent pericarditis (IRP) describes relapsing conditions of pericarditis with an unknown cause, which show essential common features with autoinflammatory diseases. This article gives an overview of the frequency of pericarditis in systemic rheumatic diseases. Moreover, the clinical manifestations and pathophysiology of IRP are discussed. Finally, the therapeutic algorithms for acute and idiopathic pericarditis are explained.Als Perikarditis wird eine Entzündung des Herzbeutels bezeichnet, die mit einem Perikarderguss oder einer entzündlichen Reaktion des Myokards (Perimyokarditis) einhergehen kann. Die Perikarditis kann im Rahmen von entzündlich rheumatischen Systemerkrankungen oder als eigenständige Erkrankung vorkommen. Rezidivierende Perikarditisepisoden ohne fassbare Ursache werden als idiopathische rekurrierende Perikarditis (IRP) bezeichnet, welche wesentliche Gemeinsamkeiten mit autoinflammatorischen Erkrankungen aufweist. Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Häufigkeit des Auftretens einer Perikarditis bei rheumatologischen Erkrankungen. Weiterhin werden Klinik und Pathophysiologie der IRP diskutiert. Abschließend wird die Therapie der akuten und idiopathischen Perikarditis erläutert

#Covid4Rheum: an analytical twitter study in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic

Social media services, such as Twitter, offer great potential for a better understanding of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders (RMDs) and improved care in the field of rheumatology. This study examined the content and stakeholders associated with the Twitter hashtag #Covid4Rheum during the COVID-19 pandemic. The content analysis shows that Twitter connects stakeholders of the rheumatology community on a global level, reaching millions of users. Specifically, the use of hashtags on Twitter assists digital crowdsourcing projects and scientific collaboration, as exemplified by the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance registry. Moreover, Twitter facilitates the distribution of scientific content, such as guidelines or publications. Finally, digital data mining enables the identification of hot topics within the field of rheumatology

This work gives information about beginings of friction and its usefulness in the field of textile industry. As next it describes individual methods. Exaggerate theirs advantages and disadvantages with reference of use in the textile industry. It describes device to measurement of friction coefficient since simple tribometr like is inclined plane after automatic machinery accessible in world's market. Shows the possibilities and description of chart for measurement of friction and stick and slip effect while using dynamometer. In the end it analyses development of obtained information.Tato práce se zabývá popisem metod k měření koeficientu tření a stick and slip efektu u plošných textilií. V první části seznamuje čtenáře s pojmem tření a historií jeho měření. Rozděluje metody podle druhu tření. Vysvětluje vznik tření a jeho důležitost v textilní oblasti. Dále popisuje jednotlivé metody, zdůrazňuje jejich výhody a nevýhody s ohledem na použití v textilním průmyslu. Popisuje přístroje k měření koeficientu tření od jednoduchých tribometrů, jako je nakloněná rovina, až po automatické stroje dostupné na světovém trhu. Ukazuje možnosti a popis schémat k měření tření a stick and slip efektu při použití dynamometru. V závěru analyzuje využití získaných poznatků
