Application of Chitosan / Cyclodextrin Nanoparticles for Tissue Glutathione Delivery

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was to investigate an ability of chitosan nanoparticles for tissue delivery of the peptide glutathione. Formulations composed of chitosan or chitosan plus cyclodextrin-beta comlex were prepared. Reduced glutathione was loaded and delivered to mucosal layer of small intestine after ischemia-reperfusion injury more efficiently in chitosan/cyclodextrin-beta nanoparticles. From the data obtained, we believe that chitosan / cyclodextrin nanoparticles can be used for the oral administration of glutathione and other small peptides. Effectiveness of the Public Work Program in Slovenia

    Get PDF
This paper evaluates the direct effects of the Slovenian public work program on the youth. The effectiveness of the program is measured by re-employment probability. A Heckman correction of selection is applied to estimate the average program effects. The Heckman selection estimator is an extensively used method to control for selection on unobserved variables. It relies on the assumption that a specific distribution of the unobservable characteristics jointly influences participation and outcome. The results of the empirical study indicate that the public work program has a positive effect on employment in the short run. In the long run, however, the results are not so obvious.active employment policies, evaluation, Heckman procedure, selection, treatment effects

    Butyltrichlorido{2-[(diisopropylammonio)methyl]phenyl}tin(IV) dichloromethane monosolvate

    Get PDF
The title compound, [Sn(C4H9)(C13H21N)Cl3]·CH2Cl2, was obtained by recrystallization of [2-(diisopropylaminomethyl)phenyl]tin(IV) butyl dichloride from a CH2Cl2/n-hexane mixture (1:4 v/v) in the presence of ambient moisture. Partial hydrolysis led to the title compound, the hydrochloric acid adduct of the dichloride, having a pentacoordinated Sn atom with a trigonal–bipyramidal C2SnCl3 core. The N atom of the 2-[(diisopropylammonio)methyl]phenyl ligand forms a strong intramolecular N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bond, resulting in a zwitterionic species, [2-(iPr2HN+CH2)C6H4]SnBuCl3 −·CH2Cl2. Disorder was found in the n-butyl group, which was refined as disordered over three positions, with site occupancies of 0.22 (1), 0.51 (1) and 0.27 (2)

The Maximum Incentive Solutions in Bargaining Problems

    Get PDF
The paper is concerned with an approach to solutions of bargaining problems, i.e. with a rule by which participants of a nonantagonistic game select from the set of all feasible outcomes some "fair" outcome. A rather diverse class of games is considered, and the selection in a concrete game is specified by the class chosen for consideration. Some partial ordering, associated with "contributions of the participants to the game", is given on every class of games, and only monotonic in respect to this ordering solutions are considered. To choose from these solutions a single one it is offered to require the maximum incentive of the participant with the maximum "value of his contribution" but within the limits of monotonicity. The paper contains concrete examples

The Satisfiability Problem for Unbounded Fragments of Probabilistic CTL

    Get PDF
We investigate the satisfiability and finite satisfiability problem for probabilistic computation-tree logic (PCTL) where operators are not restricted by any step bounds. We establish decidability for several fragments containing quantitative operators and pinpoint the difficulties arising in more complex fragments where the decidability remains open
